I have ADHD and chronic illness, so I have so much more trouble concentrating and following through; I also end up easily overwhelmed (by my own mind making mountains out of hypothetical molehills lol). I am looking to just read through scripture consistently without overthinking and studying. Last night I thought about just reading and highlighting as I go but despite the amount of highlighting method videos I just haven't really, figured out how to correctly implement or do it myself (comprehension is a skill I am relearning as my brain heals). I really enjoy your videos and your explanations of things, if you haven't already, maybe you could walk us through some of the ways you interact with the Word like highlighting, because I AM BLOWN away by the "hack" you gave us for verse referencing. I'd love to do something like that, my life motto is: "Stop doing the most!" So I really relate to being overwhelmed! I recently did an in-depth bible study on Martha and Mary, which so applies to the idea of worrying about doing things the right way! I am always being a Martha, focusing on the GOOD portion is a constant struggle! I'll film that tomorrow and maybe get the video up Friday if I can!

I'm single and I love reading it 😄 I think it's a breath of fresh air to see something joy and pleasure filled in the middle of this book (Old Testament) about law and our failure to uphold that law. Sometimes reading through the Old Testament I forget that God created joy and pleasure, too, not just rules, and that those things are good to enjoy and worthy of praise when pursued in ways God intended ❤ Sure we may not have a spouse to experience those specific emotions with but maybe a family member or friend who brings us joy and makes us want to sing their praises? I think my sister glows like the sun, she makes my soul dance with happiness, my children inspire me to praise every single day... I could write a song about other people I love, and I feel inspired to, or maybe more like permission to, after reading the Song of Solomon.
