I have never thought to turn my Bible that direction to apply tabs. Mine are always crooked from applying top to bottom. You truly do learn something new everyday. ❤

My first language is spanish i try english but i can't. I have it there in the shelf thinking what going to do with them and forget i also have a Baker bible. Hi! (: I’m planning to talk a bit more about my autism in a video soon when I share my testimony, but the shorter version is… I got diagnosed a couple years ago. Unfortunately, when I was a child no one took my struggles seriously. So I got in trouble a lot for things I couldn’t control. No one in my family knew what autism was, so they thought I just had anxiety because I was unusually quiet and struggled to socialize. They assumed it was something I would grow out of. School was really hard because I was always overstimulated because of the loud noises, people and the harsh lighting (I also have anxious tremors so I shake a lot and get embarrassed because of it) so I found myself hiding in the bathroom a lot of the time or pretending to be sick to stay home. I graduated a year late because I skipped so much school because I didn’t know what was wrong with me and didn’t know how to reach out for help. I still struggle with the same things from childhood now, but Its a lot easier having answers. For example - I now know that when I get overstimulated that’s usually when I struggle to speak, so I can wear noise cancelling headphones and step away when I need to calm my brain down. It’s like my brain focuses on everything else and won’t connect to my mouth. Thankfully when I make my videos I can be in the comfort of my quiet art room and it’s easy to form thoughts into words. Me and my husband have been together since we were around age 14, so we pretty much grew up together. He helped me go to the dr and get my autism evaluation and has been a huge help on my journey. Autism is tricky because it’s different for everyone. I’m still learning more about it as I go. I can tell you’re an amazing mother since you’re trying to learn more about it for your son. He’s lucky to have you! But remember to be easy on yourself too, it’s a tough journey for loved ones as well. If you’re looking for some reading material on autism, one of the psychologists that did my testing recommended the book ‘Uniquely Human’ by Barry M Prizant PHD and I gifted it to my family to help them understand me a bit more and it seems to be helping.
