You're one of the amazing artists. Thanks for the inspiration
"I'm just gonna do the underpainting here, then start to actually paint with oils," says he, while I struggle to get to same detail/vibrancy level in a finished work. You're just here to make us feel like bad artists, admit it. 🤔
Thank you! Even with years of experience, I always learn something new from you. ❤
Thank you so much for that colour tip! Really helpful to me.
! Studio is great! Thanks for the video! Million kisses from Serbia💖💋💕
I'm so jealous of the monitor & studio. I was suprised with how you started this painting but it turned out brilliant.
The way you prepped the canvas is what I do, too. It's a great way to establish values ahead of time. Since learning that technique, I never looked back.
Talking about a super detailed sketch/drawing (can't really call that a sketch I think, lol). Very impressive. Love your studio and I can't wait to see all the things you'll be creating in there. That elephant looks amazing already, but will for sure watch the next video to see it finished.
Fantastic!! Love it ❤great artist !
Studio looks incredible Dan, though the elephant looks absolutely amazing so far.. looking forward seeing the end result
Thanks! it’s coming together nicely now!
Wow, you are the best and most amazing painter. Keep drawing, artist🤩🤩🤩❤❤🔥

Beautiful art!
You are just amazing!! I love watching your videos. Thank you. Love your studio too😮
The drawing was best in itself to stand alone.
Beautiful and fascinating to watch you paint. Loving the elephant. You’re amazing 🥰
The tip at the end with the colour swatches is what I do too 😊 it really helps me, it did especially when I started out too
El mas talentoso,buen trabajo👍
I like your video.❤❤❤
I'd be interested in hearing how you use AI for reference photos. I've heard of a few artists doing this now!
I am a subscriber plus already liking.
Absolutely love this it’s my favourite animal in all the world…such a detailed and delightful painting.x
I love your videos! You have skills and I love your set up! And your tips are amazing! They have helped me improve my own paintings!
WoW✨ Your 🐘painting is Incredible 😲👏👏👏

That looks beautiful!
Oh Daniel!!! your killing me!! giggle
Top video thanks for sharing 👍👍
Thank you...looks amazing....and looking forward to the next video...
Thanks for watching!
So…not all the way thru the video but is the wash over the graphite pencil work to keep the pencil marks from smudging? Probably a silly question…
can you please drop down a link of your reference photo that you are using in your future videos please...(by the way I love your content) nice painting though.
What pencil are you using
You stated that you have 6 layers of gesso. Do you sand between your gesso layers?
Daniel has a video showing how he preps his canvasses. He does wet sand between layers, from memory, & his aim is getting a very smooth surface for his detailed paintings.
@@michellelittle9184 can you provide me a link? I’ve been looking for it, but can’t seem to find it it. Thank you in advance
Hi i love the way your art progressed, i am self taught only and am finding detailing work difficult to acheive,
i have the tools but dont have the technical qualities and have been watching artists on what they found worked for them. dont know if you have any tips for me as i know every artist is different but it may help. Any advice much appreciated.
Self taught here as well. I've learnt a lot by watching other artists on TH-cam. What medium do you use? I am exclusively painting with acrylics and trying to work my way to hyper realistic paintings. Far from there, but enjoying the process. What I've learnt so far is to trust the process when your painting is in that ugly phase. And layering, so many layers!! I also only work in short painting sessions of 45 minutes to no longer than 1.5 hrs or my brain and eyes can't keep up anymore.
I’m Surprised that any artist would use AI considering they steal art to make AI programs.
The elephant in the room, if you will Sue🫠
Imagine having the tools of Hollywood to set up a scene to paint when you are poor and live in a featureless city. To have access to any reference without regards to someone's copyright for a photo reference at every turn. AI is a tool. This same argument was made with cameras too.
@@Artist_Kevin AI companies steal artists work without their permission to create their “art” programs. there are plenty of affordable reference photos photos to use, you don’t need AI to create artwork. Isn’t using your skill. Bc imagination the whole point of being an artist? But hey, if you want to be the tree voting for the axe fill your boots.
