So great! All three are so good. Sarah really captures character as well as colors...so wonderful! You all are an inspiration to keep learning and painting.
Every sitter chose the painting I liked the most! I didn't agree with the judges on the flowerwoman's portrait (obviously), but I'm so glad they chose Sarah the winner. She really did a marvelous portrait!
Banjay, I totally appreciate you posting PAOTY. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE include the season and episode #s in the titles so I don't waste my time trying to figure out if a video is current or something I saw 5 years ago. Thank you. I loved Sarah's paintings and was hoping she would win.
How can Robs be top 3 in a portrait competition but not have a decent likeness of the sitter? His self portrait was amazing! They need to give these artists more time! Even a couple hours? I barely have a toned canvas and sketch in 4 hours😂
I love these shows. So great to watch. It seems much is a matter of taste. But when painting people, there's no way around it that cpaturing a likeness will effect perception of success.
It is really sad that this sitter came with a complete black outfit.. With dark hair, black chair and indecisive background... that was a struggle to begin with. None of the three painters did well there, unfortunately. And who can blame them? There was not much to work with..😔I am pretty sure with more contrast outfit this would have been better!
Says "Of the ten artists featured today, seven are amateur..." and proceeds to show the most stunning, realistic, lovely portraits ever.... me: *awkwardly puts down paintbrush* lol
The judges, especially the host of the show [with embarrassing giggles], didn't get it right. Rob, unaware of why he was doing it, followed his intuition and painted his model 10-15 years older. AND THAT IS TRUE ART.
She looks like a hag in that painting. It didn't capture her present self whatsoever. I'd say all 3 of her portraits aren't amazing. Daisy captured her personality the best, just not her proportions lol
That is a thing that annoys me as well, especially if several of these artists grid up their pictures too. Though i understand that they want to get the likeness, it also could just end up being a painted photo. I feel this show would be better if these technical options were not available.
I like when I'm interrupted periodically. It gives me a chance to step back and look with fresh eyes, possibly seeing something I was unaware of when stuck on other details. It also provides instant critique. It's much easier to change or fix something in the middle than at the very end.
They are in a show this is not a commission job at the studio or a class, they need to record scenes and showcase the artist while getting to know them and let them introduce themselves to the public, beside they need brakes to refresh their eyes so they are not bothering them, they are helping them.. bothers you and that’s your problem.
So the top three where the ones that had more skill in capturing the likeness. To be honest I'm quite disappointed, what art judges are these? They valued skill over creativity. I personally would have chosen Thomas's painting.
These judges deserve awards! 😂 they can look at some HORRIBLE paintings and still say something good.😂 I feel like they’re always trying to read more into the bad ones than there is to read. Does that make sense? Yes you can find good in any painting usually but does that mean it deserves top 3?(robs just didn’t look like her )
Nobody was a bad painter. But. Judges nearly went the whole time without saying anything that wasn’t complete bullcrap. Picked three of the weakest. The old guy and the BLM shirt guy were by far the best painters are you guys blind
Love this show but, why the artist uses such a small tiny brushes like seriously, make they’re art looks completely constipated and says a lot about them as a total control freaks.. they need to let lose it’s not the best work I seen in this show my favorite is the charcoal drawing of the hobbit actor and the young guy painted by the blond, the one who won, I liked her way of painting but, ruined for me is that she painted in such a cheap materials and over paper and so tiny.. i would have picked the blondie white young girl.. the other guy did not got the likeness of the lady he painted so I don’t know why he was short listed either.
Every episode seems to have a few entries the judges rave over that are actually utterly ugly, portray the sitter as very unattractive, and/or use muddy colors that are suited to phlegm, pus, and diaper contents.
I used to watch this show all the time back then,,,, Ive grown so much as a creative and would love to participate, how do I even sign up for this???🧍♀
Bravo to host Stephen for giving the judges guff about short-listing a portrait that did not have a likeness AT ALL!
I think it looks like her OLDER, so well technically you're correct, the likeness isn't there.
And it completely uglified an attractive person. It's a show about portraits for crying out loud! A portrait should look like the subject.
@@personanongrata9289I think anyone who has watched this series knows the judges have made numerous questionable choices
I thought Sarah’s portrait was so full of sensitivity and was really beautiful.
Sarah's portrait is so real and so beautiful, I'm happy that the judges decided the same.
Hattie's is beautiful. Sarah's also so gentle and lovely. A very deserving winner
Sarah's painting captured the essence. A jewel of a painting.
Freehand, no grid. Amazing capture
Beautiful pieces all round. But yes, Sarah’s was so full of actual character. Loved it.
The judges finally chose the best artist as the winner. I never thought that I'd live to see this day. 😂
My thoughts exactly.
Same Concrats to all.
yes, they definitely picked the best one today
So great! All three are so good. Sarah really captures character as well as colors...so wonderful! You all are an inspiration to keep learning and painting.
Tough ruling . Sarah was so deserving of the prize
Every sitter chose the painting I liked the most! I didn't agree with the judges on the flowerwoman's portrait (obviously), but I'm so glad they chose Sarah the winner. She really did a marvelous portrait!
Thank you Banijay. I always appreciate your posts.
Sarah was fast and her painting was beautiful and delightful.
Thank you so much. I never miss your channel. This one of portraits and the one of landscapes!!!
This show is my new addiction.
👍 Sarah she’s amazing artist she saw him and captured him
and so good in it ❣️
It was so beautiful painting 🖼️ 😊 wow 🤩
Yahooo! I picked Sara too, but wow, I hope the other two get another chance. Too many good painters in a single episode 😅
Such a pleasure to watch! WOW to all the talented participants!
They certainly chose the right winner this time!
I love to see a painting when it turns out to look like a photograph. That is the ultimate capturing in my opinion
I like the portrait of Shawn ,, portrait color palette is like van gogh, striking classic goth color
I love the backgrounds chosen this episode! Bravo for the designers. Great subjects and artists!
Favorite TV series ever! Thanks for posting!!

I really enjoyed this video, I started drawing a few months ago & love it, these artists are such an inspiration ❤
This looks so fun being a part of
Bravo Sarah!👏👏👏

Wonderful!
Great portrait 😊
Awesome
Ty 😃
I totally agree 👍
Critics are on point.
9:28 what app do you use for the picture grid?
"Grid For Drawing" App on Google Play, of course you didn't ask me😅
Ty😊
Excellent
Love Stephen mangan
I always enjoy this show once i skipped the "judges" segments.
What is this show called?
In my time I would have been serious competition for them with my knife painting. I was professional then, now i have a tremor
I'm very sorry. Getting older can be cruel
Instagram of these artists?

I thought the same thing- it looks like her in the future !
She looks like a hag in that painting. It didn't capture her present self whatsoever. I'd say all 3 of her portraits aren't amazing. Daisy captured her personality the best, just not her proportions lol
Van Goff's blue period, huh? Lol
When most of the artists are working with photo reference, why strain the sitter that too celebrities.
It's not any live portraiture.
That is a thing that annoys me as well, especially if several of these artists grid up their pictures too. Though i understand that they want to get the likeness, it also could just end up being a painted photo. I feel this show would be better if these technical options were not available.
Bothering Artists while they work.. I hate that.
Seriously.

One of those girls
Painted Keanu reeves
What's the name of the artist?!
sarah👍
What is stephen talking about van gogh blue period?? He used blue in his work but he didnt have a blue period...
sorry, but Daisy had no business being there, "bless her heart", as they say here in the south of America.
So the top three where the ones that had more skill in capturing the likeness. To be honest I'm quite disappointed, what art judges are these? They valued skill over creativity. I personally would have chosen Thomas's painting.
agreed. the judges decided to please the masses.

The one picture doesn't even look like the sitter. ugh.... The judges messed this one up.
Who the heck are the celebs?
using the grid method and taking pictures of the subject when they are infront of them is so frustrating
👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🩷

Sorry, Hatttie"s should have won.

It looks unsophisticated because it is.
Grid users should be banned from portraits of the year....i want to see REAL ART
Why is it not real at if they use a grid?
Oh you'd hate Leonardo Da Vinci, Albrecht Durer, M.C. Escher, Vincent Van Gogh, etc. Absolute grid using amateurs.
I used to watch this show all the time back then,,,, Ive grown so much as a creative and would love to participate, how do I even sign up for this???🧍♀
