He was such a special person, it was impossible to miss. It's amazing to me how many people were connected to him and therefore each other, it somehow brings us ALL closer together. It takes a truly miraculous human to do that. I'll always miss him and get choked up whenever I think of him.

      It’s actually an edit.
      I’ve seen that comedy routine.
The little kid is supposed to be his oldest kid, his son, who was a child then.
The child says, “nah, f it.”
I guess to be on youtube, the “f” had to be edited out.

My favorite thing that he did was voice the Genie in Aladdin! One of my 2 favorite Disney movies 🎬 He brightens up my day every time he sang Friend Like Me, but that moment when Aladdin sets him free, that's the BIGGEST thing to me, proving to all that Aladdin had a real heart. And watching this, all I can think is Genie, your free! Like many, I truly wish that I could have met him IRL 😔

A friend. A father. A mentor. A comedian. An actor. A brother. A son. A guardian angel. A human being. It pains me to know that whilst he was struggling internally with his mental state, he still managed to bring a smile in people’s faces even if he wasn’t taking care of himself. People didn’t know he was struggling until he killed himself. His brilliant mind was his best friend but also his worst enemy. We need to look after one another.

Fresh The very end was part of a mid 1980's HBO stand-up special Williams filmed called "Live At The Met" at the Metropolitan Opera House, NYC. The closing routine was Williams talking about looking into the future and parenting and mentoring his then-young son, Zachary. It's both touching and hilarious. Especially if you've ever been a parent but it's still great if not.

my grandmother died when i was 11 and my mother commited suicide a month later due to her illnesses she had so i was in a very dark time of my life and i would watch robins stand up shows endlessly to help me cope with everything that had happen and at the time i didnt fully understand all the concepts he was going through at the time but i always laughed
after i had heard he died and the way he did it broke a little piece of me like im sure it has tons of people and he will surely be missed by many and will always be remembered rip my friend i never got to meet you but you helped me more than words can describe

+ssisnake Yeah me too man, I have never met Robin, and I wish I had so badly, but I actually am utterly saddened he is not with us now. I grew up watching his movies, Flubber, Good Will Hunting, etc. Patch Adam's really hit home for me, too. He really was a hilarious guy, a beautiful man. He has a way with people that not very many other people do. I still, to a degree, think that he may have not fully understood how much of an impact he had on others around him. He certainly was a gift for the world.
By the way, i'm sorry about your loss, man. May them rest in peace. I don't know what it's like to lose someone very close, but I know pushing through that kind of thing takes some extraordinary courage. From one fellow man to another, I wish you the absolute best. Keep on pushing forward, don't ever give up bro life is a challenge filled with obstacles approach them head on while going mach 4 with a smile on your face, and dominate them. Good on you, stay solid, my friend...

My theory - some might feel as though giving the video a thumbs up might in some way make others, or probably themselves, feel as though they're not approving the message of the video, but the fact that Robin Williams is gone. And doing a thumbs down would do the opposite - perhaps raging against the idea that he is gone. I sometimes experience that odd theory with certain videos - I did give this a thumbs up, but like with many things, it's not a simple black or white concept and I try to (not all the time, but often) consider why someone might do a certain thing that makes me angry or confused. Like the guy on the highway who seems in such a hurry for no apparent reason and flashes you before you even have a chance to move over (or maybe he ticks you of and you don't move over). Just because we don't know the reason, that doesn't mean there is none. Maybe he's on his way to a job interview for his dream job, and he got delayed by something he had no control over. Or maybe his wife is about to give birth and he's trying to get to the hospital in time. There are times like these when forgiving is the only good policy. Anger only begets more anger.

Bangerang, Oh captain my captain, See you in Neverland. I had the sheer joy of meeting this wonderful man during my one & only extra work on his movie Man Of The Year. At the end of the night as when he was done shooting he came over, shook the hand, asked our names & how we were doing & tanking us. You could tell it was something he not only wanted to do but loved doing. I was totally thrilled on the bus ride home & is a moment I treasure even more now. Sadly my extra work ended after because of verbally abusive losers.

I was shocked about how he died, I never thought he would take his own life, and I think many of you feel the same way. His death taught me that behind a smile you think that he's okay, but when you look behind the smile, there were demons that he spent years fighting until he couldn't fight no more. He was from my dad's generation, but I grew up watching him. He was a kind, funny, and beautiful man. He will be one of those people who come along only once in a lifetime. Rest in peace Robin and give our love to your best friend Christopher Reeve. Smile my boy, it's sunrise.

    • @dianacambridge38
      @dianacambridge38 9 ปีที่แล้ว

***** Yes, I agree. Playing the "Better Than" game is very irritating to others, never more so than when there is loss and deep emotions felt. People who make pronouncements that begin with, "It amazes me just how underrated [he/she] really is..." is a message that the speaker is highly aware and knowledgeable about some kind of Truth, thus better than (smarter, more sensitive, and oh so correct) those who are spoken to, who of COURSE don't Get It. As you stated, ".... in order to make themselves feel like only THEY appreciate something as much as it should be." -- yes, and that the rest of us are dolts. I've been known to make myself unpopular when I've chosen to respond to things like this -- because, yes, they ARE wrong, inaccurate, etc. -- usually by saying something like, "Goodness, you mean you've actually heard lots of 'underrating' about Robin Williams [or whoever]? Gee, almost everyone I've heard from over the past 35 years or so have loved and appreciated ..." yadda yadda yadda ... The Better Than dynamic in life is played out in so many ways, by so many people, since the time of cave-dwellers -- a way to lift oneself up, by putting others down.

I sometimes fantasize about humanity being a part of a multiverse. And life as we know it is simply one parallel universe out of an infinite amount of universes.
And in our universe, all of us have been lucky enough to get to experience Robin Williams' spirit and brilliance.
It makes me so grateful to have been a part of it.
Robin Williams is not a once in a lifetime kind of character, but a once in a universe kind of spirit, that's impossible to replicate.
We should all be grateful he ever spawned this earth and entertained our souls for the sake of laughter.
    We're not worthy.
May his spirit have finally found peace.
    Rest In Peace,
    Robin Williams.

The only term that can describe him to me is, "Once in a lifetime talent".
