I got an 24 R3 as my first bike. Brand spanking new 0 miles when I got it. Absolutely love it. Plan on keeping as long as I can. I first bought it in June 28 this year and put 2.2k miles on it up to this date. I always cruise going 70-75mph everywhere i commute from city to highways and it feels so nice. Cruising at 75 my rpm’s are sitting at 8.1k rpm if anyone was wondering lol. Haven’t dropped it yet but when I do I gotta take a picture for a fun memory :)
Ye man, I think my mistake was driving it like a 600….. I’m redlining it for 30-40 minutes sessions non stop every single day , to the point that my engine light is now on 😭😭🫡
@@Smokeyzfr oh man 🥲 time for an upgrade? I ride my bike pretty rough too but not all the time because lower cc bikes go under more stress and my pockets aren’t that big for repairs lol
@@Smokeyzfr the way you overtake the cars in the video is extremely unsafe , its like you are driving in a video game, please dont do that. im looking into getting my first bike and ive been looking at the r3. this video helps alot and since i do live in the city and rarely get on the highway, the R3 is 100% my to go to. thanks for the video!
I currently ride a Kawasaki Ninja 125, which has a top speed of 119 km/h, so I totally understand the struggle with short shifting. I’d love to start on a Yamaha R3, but in my country, you have to be at least 20 to ride an A2-class bike, which is a bit frustrating. For the R3, is reaching its top speed of 180 km/h difficult? Do you really need to push the bike hard to get there, or does it build up smoothly through the gears?
The MSRP for the 2023 is 5,499 USD …. I got my for around 4400 USD. I would also recommend everyone to get it used as it will be significantly cheaper. Look on Facebook marketplace. The bike is also very durable, so even if some of the farings are scratched the bike can still be a good buy especially if you know how to negotiate.
I only use 91 just because I use 91 in all my vehicles. But the swing arm says “unleaded gasoline 91 RON min” in the owners manual it says “Regular unleaded gasoline (E10 acceptable)” I’d say use whatever you like. People from R3 forums/threads use anything from 87 to 93 with no issue
I'm considering between the mt-07 and the r3. I ride more in the city and up to 60 km in the area for backroad trips, and less on the highways. I can't decide which bike would be more suitable for me. I'm 182 cm tall and 93 kg.
@@Smokeyzfr additionally, when decreasing the revs, there is a nice gurgling sound from the stock exhaust pipe :) These new mt-07. However, the position on the R3 is not typical for such motorcycles. I was sitting on it more vertically. I heard in the video that the R3 has short gears. I wonder how it is on the road at 100 - 120 km/h if there is a need to overtake, will it still have the acceleration to overtake the truck and return to its lane.
Had GPz 550 back in mid 90s , suicide bars , no mirrors , or turn signals, cafe bike , hard to tell what it was just by looking, wasn't familiar with the term cafe bike, but I knew that's what I was into, was introduced to the term years later... We called em mutants

R3 is unfortunately out dated…the features and tech is less than anything offered from the competition. They need to do more than change the fairings. Honestly they need to make a R4 or R5 imo.
True. However at its price point no other bike gives you lcd display, ABS, LED headlights and upside down forks. Plus it’s the only 300cc that goes over 100 mph.
It goes from 0 to 60 in about five seconds and easily cruises at 80 mph, so that's good enough for me. R7 is already a great choice for those who want the next step up in power.

R3 dope bro, r6 is super heavy
@@SunnyDarkoShow r6 also just too much for a beginner bike. I would say below 400cc is optimal.
I love the style of the R3 but I also like the features of the Ninja 500 SE. This will be my first bike but man i wish yamaha made a refresh of the R3
Ye me too …. I think soon tho
The 2025 R3 is lookin great
15k on mt03. Hundred mph is plenty fast. Throttle tube was a must.
Leaving a stop nearly always in second.
