I bought a 2007 SE new, and it has been, by far, my favorite ATV of all time...and I've had and ridden a lot of them. Did the big 3 to it and rode it as much as I could. It always put a smile on my face no matter the day. Most memorable was a group ride with 25 4x4 ATV's at the Hatfield-McCoy trails over a long weekend...me being the only 2wd sport quad in the bunch. Everyone rolled their eyes at the Raptor, thinking I was going to slow them down, when in fact, I was always right in the middle of the bunch (usually waiting on a broke down Polaris). Hillclimbs, mud, creeks, rocks...nothing could stop the Raptor. Sadly, my friend sold his 600 acres, and the forest service closed down the closest trail system, so that made the WV trails at 2+hrs away the closest place to ride. I had to send it down the road and opt for a street bike instead.
Right on! I've been to HM on the Raptor more than any other machine, always a blast! Nothing beats a big private area, we lost ours a couple years ago, so I get it. Nothing wrong with 2wheelers! I have a R1250 GSA and a 250l, love 2wheel rippin!

Bought my first new raptor in 2004 660r (limited edition) off the showroom floor and soon after, jetted and piped it. After several years if enjoyment, I sold it and bought a powder puff 08 raptor 700r that was already piped, tuned and several other goodies. It was so much better than the 660r. Noonget have it, but if I bought a quad tomorrow, it'd be a YFZ450r or another Raptor 700r. Great video informing potential new sport quad riders the ease of ability when it comes to such a powerful machine👌
Spot on info .I try not to be biased, but they will go a lot of places they should be & a few places you wouldn’t think they could ! With almost 5k miles on all original drivetrain nothing to complain about here !
Im a Banshee guy and I have to say, those 700r Raptors are INSANE! Baddest 4 stroke to exist. Its pure raw form, but with updated tech (efi, reverse etc.) And they are scary fast
Awesome video as usual. Of all the machines I've had, the only one I was ever able to buy brand spanking new was my 660 in 2005. Still have it too. Long live the Raptor!
You are so dead right about the raptor it’s I love em and a proud owner of the 2021 700r it’s the hole package you can ride along slow with your wife on her 4x4 and you can also rip it in the open field where you gotta pay 15k for a renagade to keep up. Even Alfred the big 3 it’s far cheaper then them 1000s and it’s just as fast in a lighter way more fun package. Best sport quad ever made 100% even got the numbers to back it up. If your a person on here looking to buy a raptor I recommend you do cause all its going to take is one jam of the throttle and you will never look back! I love the dedication to sport quads on this channel .Great vid guys as always
A lot of folks want to compare the Renegade to the Raptor but the Renegade isn't even in the same ballpark. Put flared plastics on a 4x4 and it's still a 4x4.. Fun machine but I'll take a Raptor all day everyday! Thanks for the comment!
I’ve never ridden any type of ATV in my life, but I am looking to break that trend and I am definitely interested in this Raptor 700R. I’ll even have to learn how to use the clutch. lol Thanks for the video!
That's awesome brother! It's a great machine and definitely something you can easily learn on.. It's like anything else that requires a little learning, awkward at first but super rewarding when you stick with it... Met my two closest buds out on the trails!
I love the points you brought up. After riding warriors for over 2 decades I just picked up a used raptor 700. After spending some time with it I came to the conclusion that it really is the modern warrior. You can feel that dna in it in how it is the markets big bore sporty atv with reverse. The no brainer for your average trail rider.
Great video and agree with everything you stated. I just picked up a 24 700r about 3 months ago and have taken a Dune trip to Little Sahara OK. Raptors are amazing trail bikes but also perfect for the dunes as well. I'm in the middle of a Big 3 install right now and already planning my next Dune trip to hopefully St Anthony ID (and Yellowstone while I'm up there) come April/May next year. I really wish that Sport ATVs would make a come back as they truly are the purest form of "fun" off road riding on 4 wheels IMO. Yamaha may have not made any changes to the YFZ and Raptor over the last decade, but in truth they don't have too. These are still wonderful machines to enjoy and have proved their reliability.
Awesome! I need to get out to Little Sahara sometime.. Definitely agree, they don't need to be changed or updated, we're lucky they're still available off the showroom floor.
Had an 07 for several years, modded it to be a bad ass dunner, dynoing at 70hp and 50tq. One of the funest machines I've had, sold it a few years back and have regretted it ever since. One day I'll probably get another one.
I have a raptor 700!!!! Let me tell you something, I love it and I will love it for ever it is the best quad ever. Good quality and easy to ride and the most fun quad out there
My dad bought a brand new Raptor this past March. I've ridden a Sportsman 850, Honda 350X, and my own Yamaha 225DX (similar to the Moto 4 mentioned in video). The Raptor is 100% the most fun ATV I've ever ridden. My dad and I usually ride on the trails and roads of Tug Hill here in NYS, and the raptor is awesome. It'll do 50 mph in the snap of a finger
There's nothing quite like a new Raptor! Thanks Yamaha for keeping sport quads alive! Thanks Dirt Obsexxion for the awesome quad content! I will be mounting a Yamaha in 2024!
weve had our 2024's for a month now and oh my lord the power is insane. just recently flipped it in the road by spinning out so got to fix her up but they are amazing machines.
Another thing to mention is if you can license them for your street where you live they're a blast. See several every year riding around my town. I own one as well and prefer ditches and gravel roads. But every now and then I'll go and mess around on the street.
Still have my super clean 06 blue 700 and she still rips. Well built and I never had a problem. It’s a shame yamaha is the only one still making sport quads
Love the Raptor. I’m worried about the prices. They just keep going up. Then you add the dealer add ons. I think for prices now they need to do a major update. I’d love to see them increase the width to 50 inches wide and maybe a new plastic design. They also need to bring back the Raptor 250. Maybe make a slightly smaller Raptor 400cc adult model with a better price point.
Currently have a 22’ Raptor but am quite the minority on my local ATV (or should I say UTV) trails these days. There is nothing more fun than throwing this thing around in the forest down twisty fire roads. If the trails gets bumpy/rocky however RIP to my back.
Yeah we're lucky to have some smaller ride areas nearby.. Canmer has become a little sport quad sanctuary but we've got the Daniel Boone NF and Turkey Bay National Rec area close too, that's why I mentioned the locations being key.. The Raptor is the only Wheeler I can't live without
My first quad was an 08 raptor in 2013. Loved that thing, I had never been on anything other than my little 90cc dirt bike when i was teen. They are definitely tame when they need to be and great to learn on, more so than a high strung 450 imo!! Great video!!
I have 2 2022 Raptor 700r SEs and they have all the power my son and I need!! We ride trails and old ash dumps!! We actually got in the picture section of the October issue of Dirt Wheels!!
It's fast boys fasttt. I bought one yesterday 2024 deep blue. 3rd gear pinned feels like you teleported but to me it looks like a dirt bike with 4 wheels. I love it fast but super user friendly
Looks like alot of fun. But for me, this is still a machine that excels when the conditions are ideal, and nothing else. To me, this is a machine that you'd ride close to home, on trails you know are good, but if I had something like this, I believe I would be afraid to explore and go to new places. Especially in western Canada where I may plan a long weekend riding trip in a totally new area a few hundred kilometers from home, will it rain or snow on my trip? Who knows. I'd prefer a machine that will get me through anything, instead of a machine that hopes it has a groomed trail to go down. I'd love to see this machine get rebranded as a yfz700r. And turn the Raptor name into some kind of trail monster that is still very sport focused. Like a Polaris Scrambler 1000 competitor. Maybe even bring back an older name for the new machine, Warrior, or Big Bear.
That's why I tried to emphasis the need to know where you're going to ride.. There's certainly scenarios that would be too much (which is true to a lesser extent with a 4x4 too).. I like the idea about something sportier, Yamaha used to have it with the Wolverine, but they gave that name to a SXS now.
I feel like if we start using sport atv's for "enduro" style riding like we do on the dirtbikes, we may be able to bring them back. At least a version of what they once were.
I know of a 2006 Yamaha Raptor 700 for sale for $3000. and this video just might helped me make the decision to purchase it. although I was sorta hoping there would have been some general pricing? so I can be sure I'm paying the right price when I make the purchase.
Honestly brother, the price of a new one or the price from 2006 will have nothing to do with what that quad is worth now.. With a used quad, price is directly related to the kind of shape it's in.. For 3k, I'd want a machine that old to be in perfect running condition.. Not so much concerned about cosmetic stuff, but it shouldn't need anything before it's running well.. Let me know if you need any tips!
@@DirtObseXXion It's supposed to be in good condition. but because of that price I held off on checking it out. but now I can go check it out and know what to expect, and what would be an appropriate amount to pay for it. thanks.
@@musicauthority674 If it's in great shape and obviously well maintained then 3k could be a very good price. Take a close look at the air filter, chain/sprockets, bearings (especially the carrier bearing). Look at the wiring to make sure nothing has been rigged weird or spliced. Set it upright and look at the frame, especially along the welds to check for cracks.. All those things can be indicators of problems.. With wearable parts like the chain and sprockets, brakes and tires, bearings and ball joints.. It's up tp you what is acceptable. Just keep in mind, if needs quite a bit of little thing, they can add up quickly. I'd personally rather spend that money on something nicer as opposed to getting a quad up to par.. So the price is relative.. Great ridable shape, needs nothing, 3k is a good deal. Needs 1,000 worth of stuff right away, I'd probably keep looking.
@@DirtObseXXion Thanks for the great advice, I'm going to take all the points you made into consideration and look it over thoroughly. and If it shows considerable wear or abuse then I will probably continue looking? but if it checks out within reason it might just be the type of quad I have been looking for? either way I think I'm going to take a little time and not make a snap decision. I just want to make sure they are being fair with me. and I'm being fair with them on the price, and then go from there. thanks again for all the sound advice I really appreciate it.
@@musicauthority674 No problem brother, that's what we're here for.. I may do a video on "what to look for" when buying a used quad in the near future.
How’s the learning curve and added entertainment value with one of these compared to a Recon for a casual weekend trail rider? Not exactly apples to apples I know, but their footprint and weight is similar. Of all my machines, I love my recons due to their size, maneuverability but the Raptor has always intrigued me.
Such a good question! Honestly the learning curve would be slight because you're already use to shifting and a solid rear axle, so the clutch is really the only difference... And the Raptor has the most forgiving clutch I've ever used... Added entertainment is OFF THE FRIGGEN CHARTS, in my humble opinion.. Similar weight, 10x better suspension, and more than 2x the power, but still docile enough at low RPMs to capable of very relaxed pace..
@@DirtObseXXion That’s exactly why I’ve been eyeing one. The Recons also fit really well between the ruts SXSs create 😡 and is also another reason why I probably favor them compared to larger machines. Raptor makes a lot of sense for my purposes.
@ndoc8889 I hear that! A lot of guys will say you need to widen a Raptor but I like em at 46" for exactly that reason.. They super low maintenance and top tier reliable too
Lol! No I'm still in the honeymoon period with the 1250! Put 12k on it so far.. I did go to the stealership to check one out but I don't think they've made it to the US yet.. Looks sweet tho!
I'm getting A '24 Raptor 700R SE Grey & Orange It will not be in until April, or May. Oh Well By then I will have it paid for. I Bought My First Quad in 1991, A Honda 250X, New and still have it. I Have two Honda 400's as well. '08 & '14. If Honda Made A Sport Quad, I'd Buy it, but they don't. Thank You Yamaha! Great Video!
If you like the 400s I think you're gonna love Raptor once you get used to it.. At first it's like riding someone else's bike but after a couple rides you'll be hooked!!!
@@DirtObseXXion Thanks! I plan on adding 2+ A-Arms, and Wider Rear Axle. Both 400's have that, and I Enjoy the Stability in the Turns with that added width.
@MichiganQuadTrailsTales If you're doing that set up, it's worth doing long travel suspension too in my opinion! You leave too much on the table going +2 with stock travel.. I run Elka 3s and very happy with the cost/performance
@MichiganQuadTrailsTales All around.. Front a rear suspension work together so it's best to do them all together.. I know I just added a bunch of $$$ to your build, but it's absolutely worth it and will last you a long time..
Keeping sport quads alive I ride a trx450r but will one day buy a new 700r. What part of Ky do you ride? I live in southeast Ky we got a lot of riding here
Haters only hate because they’ve never rode one. They are the perfect combination of race and recreation. You can hit the track and then putt through creekbeds without touching the clutch.
100%! Everyone wants to compare them to a Renegade, but in my mind there is no comparison.. The Raptor is hands down the most fun I've ever had on a wheeler..
@@DirtObseXXion yea take a renegade to a motocross track and jump some doubles…hit some whoops…and then let them take a raptor through it. Flipside if you want a mudbogger a renegade is the ticket.

Lol! Yeah, not gonna argue about the transcendent dominance of a machine that almost singlehandedly carried the sport for 20years and is still relevant 40 years later.. The 250R is a classic 👌
@@DirtObseXXion You know your stuff. Yes you can spend between $16.000 to $27,000 for a TPC or BVD conversion and it still won’t handle and run like an 85/86 ATC250R. I recommend to ALL if you’re interested in 3 wheels buy the beat up 85/86 atc. And put your $5,000 to $7,000 to building that. It will run circles around any conversation. It won’t have the wrong center of gravity ( conversions define tippy) and it won’t look Goofy like all conversions do. And it will scare the hell out of other riders which is always Fun.
I started on a 83 ATC 70 when I was 11 and to big for it. I the winter of 86 I got the Trimoto 225 Dr and frostbit my wrists riding it 13 miles home at 20 below, I loved that 3 wheeler, had it for years. A friend had a 200X and a 350X and that 225 put him on his ass 3 times in one day and pulled away from his 200X with no problem, it topped out close to 60mph. Then I got a 85 200X and got another one a few years later and after both motors were shot they went to Honda and ordered the top of the line in performance parts for the build, got the Fasttrekkers on ITP aluminum rims, Supertrap pipe and the best of the rest of the 2, even sanded the scratches out and while I was working on the Alaska Highway on it's 50th the frame was stolen. I ended up giving the motor away 6 months later and it never was put into anything. FUCK!! Sorry, anyways got a Blaster, then a Warrior and had a lot of fun with them, almost got a Raptor in 02 then lots my mom and then a off duty cop in a full size Dodge hit me head on in my Ranger. Now I got a 16 year old loose M.O.M. hip.
I have ATV cravings that put a junkie to shame!! Fairbanks had trails in the ditches along most of the major roads, it was great, in the winter just had to wait till a few sleds packed it down, and the mining roads and trails around Ester Dome, where I grew up, were and still are amazing.
Love my raptor 700r 2015 only thing is,I brought it with a big gun Evo R twin exhaust & it’s running a little rich,iv been told to get a power commander 5 but some say just plug it in & leave it & others say iv got to down load something off a computer,or i can spend £1200 & send it to this place that tune quads who said they will fit a PC & dial it in,but i feel me buying a PC5 & getting my friend with his computer ill save my self near on £900
Yeah, what I did was I bought a map from Cuervo Racing for the PC5, it was $25. Just told him my exhaust and intake setup, he sends a tune to upload in the PC5 that he dialed in with his dyno.. You have a few options with the PC5 including the custom mapping feature that let's the PC5 dial itself in.. That's a common exhaust system though, im sure there's several options out there
Had a yamaha blaster as a kid then a big bear now I have a 700 grizzly and a rmax 1000sxs but I still keep looking at the raptor 700. Im 36 now and know if I get one I won't behave on it and probably get myself in trouble......but I just might have to get one before I get too old 😅
I mean, it makes sense to round out the collection! It'll take you back to 16 again! Seriously though, riding Raptors tomorrow with a buddy who is pushing 60 and still shreds
The sec you get this home or even before buy a set of gbc xc masters my stock tires got a hole in the 3rd day i put the gbcs on and omfg the difference was night and day 100 % better ride better handling traction durability
Cylinder head, compression, and fuel mapping.. Other than that, not a ton.. Cosmetic stuff obviously and a few minor things like guards for the stator wires..
I started xc racing my '22 raptor last year and will continue this year. The one downfall is the height compared to the yfz. It's almost best to run an mx style of a arms for maximum width but then for xc racing, that +3 can get expensive very quickly due to tight tree gaps
@@DirtObseXXion Yes it's a clear disadvantage during races but the speed and torque are amazing during field sections, hills and nasty mud. Last year I tried IXCR, MWXC and extreme. This year I'll be focused on the MWXC series and the ixcr season opener in my hometown of Attica
Just a question for you. I just bought a 2023 Suzuki King Quad 750 AXI camo edtion. Love the machine. I always wanted one. Now I get one and glad I did cause I see Suzuki dont have a 500 or 750 in their 2024 line up. Just the 400cc and 90cc. Have u heard any rumors on alittle revamping on the previous models or are they giving up on them do to low atv sales?
Great question.. I honestly don't know. Kawasaki did the same thing with the Brute Force, so it's possible that Suzuki and Kawasaki are getting out of the large displacement ATV business... Suzuki had just revamped the KQ in 2019 and I don't think it had the impact they hoped for. I don't see them doing anything different.. Best we can hope for is a delayed release... Also true for the Honda Rincon 680 this year..
Really will be sad if Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda give up their machines. All that is left is Yamaha and CFMoto. Hate to see the atv industry down sizing. I love Yamaha and would have got a grizzly if one was available but Suzuki had a good deal plus I got a 2500lb winch on it for free. I love the machine and am sure parts will be around for a long while. What I didnt know at the time of purchase though is that aftermarket add ons are few and far between for the Ol King Quad. Guess If I would have known they were gonna stop production I may have waited for the grizzly to be available. Kinda sad that these companies dont see that if they just added winches, bumpers, LED lights, nicer tire, rim pkg and handguards that people would buy from them. Really hate to see this day come if thats what is happening to the 4 kings of the atv industry.Wish you and your famlies a happy Thanksgiving.
@@michaellivingston6707 Agreed, it's sad.. In my opinion they just haven't paid enough attention to the ATV market through marketing and keeping an eye on the competition. Kawasaki hasn't promoted the Brute Force in 10 years, Suzuki tried with the redesign in 2019 but they sold it as a totally new machine when in reality it just a much improved version of the old KQ. It's allowed CFMoto to move in on the market and undersell the old brands that seem stagnant.. I'd take a Kawi or KQ all day long over a Moto, but newer buyers see newer styling and features at the lower price point and much more available inventory.
Thinking of getting my first ATV, enjoying your videos. I like the idea of a sport quad so I’m thinking either a raptor 700 or a can am renegade 650(comparable prices). My question is would a Raptor with a Rekluse auto clutch be a good compromise, I really hate shifting. Thanks!
Well, I wouldn't call a Renegade a sport quad, it's really a 4x4 atv with different plastics. Not that the Renegade isn't good, it's just very different.. With a Rekluse, you still have to shift, you just don't have to use the clutch and it's not going to stall.. The Raptor is incredibly forgiving with the stock clutch which makes it very easy to shift.. A lot of guys, myself included find that a more enjoyable way to ride even though there is a little learning curve.. All that said, there's really no alternative to a pure sport quad if you want to do all the fun stuff that you can do on a 400lbs machine with a solid axle.. 4x4s are fun too, just in a different way.. My advice would be: learn to get used to and good at using a clutch. It opens more doors for motorcycles and dual sports if you have any interest there eventually.. But yes a Rekluse will make it easier even though it's not quite comparable to a CVT
@@DirtObseXXion Thanks for the advice and the quick response. One more question, I’m not far from you guys(Knoxville TN), what’s a good resource to find trails?
@scottmallow5231 Best trails for quads are OHV areas in the National Forests.. The Daniel Boone has some areas not far from you.. Check Mid South XC for racing..
Nope definitely nothing to complain about reliability-wise! See y'all Saturday
Just bought a 21 700r. I’m so glad I did!
Im 57 with a bad back, I had LT250r back in the day. Miss those days for sure.
Im a Banshee guy and I have to say, those 700r Raptors are INSANE! Baddest 4 stroke to exist. Its pure raw form, but with updated tech (efi, reverse etc.) And they are scary fast
Banshees and Banshee Guys are built different 💪💪💪
Awesome video as usual. Of all the machines I've had, the only one I was ever able to buy brand spanking new was my 660 in 2005. Still have it too. Long live the Raptor!
Oh nice! Can't beat a 24 year run!!
They are very easy to learn how to ride it was my first manual machine i had it fully down in a day. This machine is very comfortable on the trails.
Awesome, thanks brother! I was a huge fan of the Warrior, probably an even bigger fan of the Raptor.. But yeah, gives me that same child-like feeling!
That reverse is so nice on the trails
I've been very fortunate to have had my hands on everything interesting, but nothing can replace the Raptor
Oh, I love the raptor. The 2024 look great with the new colours. It,s a beautiful machine. It,s a shame not more manufacturers make them anymore.
I have a raptor 700!!!! Let me tell you something, I love it and I will love it for ever it is the best quad ever. Good quality and easy to ride and the most fun quad out there
🤘💯
My dad bought a brand new Raptor this past March. I've ridden a Sportsman 850, Honda 350X, and my own Yamaha 225DX (similar to the Moto 4 mentioned in video). The Raptor is 100% the most fun ATV I've ever ridden. My dad and I usually ride on the trails and roads of Tug Hill here in NYS, and the raptor is awesome. It'll do 50 mph in the snap of a finger
The Raptor is great 👍 I agree, most fun I've ever had on a 4wheeler!
There's nothing quite like a new Raptor! Thanks Yamaha for keeping sport quads alive! Thanks Dirt Obsexxion for the awesome quad content! I will be mounting a Yamaha in 2024!
2024 gonna kick ass! Good riding in this one 👌 Nice to have a professional in the crew
Just purchased a new 2024 raptor 700r in blue and man it rips❗️🔥
Great stuff makes me want to take one of ours out.
Do it!!! I'll ride your RR you can ride the R 😁
Such a pro video. I feel like this should have been part of powerblock back in the day. Great content man.
Thanks brother, truly appreciate it!
weve had our 2024's for a month now and oh my lord the power is insane. just recently flipped it in the road by spinning out so got to fix her up but they are amazing machines.
Oh no, flipped inside of a month 🤦♂️... Hope you get er fixed up soon!
Nice! I'm hoping to see a really cool looking R SE for the 20 year anniversary
Understandable concerns.. I wouldn't want a wider one personally because it would lose agility, but a 400 class machine I can 100% get behind 💪
After looking for a wheeler for 3 months I bought a raptor yesterday can’t wait to get it out to the trails.
Awesome brother, congrats! Hope you have a blast on it!

The Raptor is the only Wheeler I can't live without
I just bought a raptor not to long ago. Pretty fun. From Pa and riding in rocks put a 22inch tire on the back and helped with bottoming out alot

yup i used to race motocross back in the day with my husky 250cr just got a raptor and am really enjoying it tho im older now its a fun machine
My first quad was an 08 raptor in 2013. Loved that thing, I had never been on anything other than my little 90cc dirt bike when i was teen. They are definitely tame when they need to be and great to learn on, more so than a high strung 450 imo!! Great video!!
Exactly 💯.. Thanks brother!

Damn that four wheeler is movin that big boy
Lol! Raptors are no joke!
After watching this... Well.... Brb going to buy a raptor! 😂
LOL! Your stickers would look awesome on the R SE... Just sayin...

@@DirtObseXXion Thank You Very Much for that added Information! Do you have the Elka 3's all around? Or just Up Front?

Haters only hate because they’ve never rode one. They are the perfect combination of race and recreation. You can hit the track and then putt through creekbeds without touching the clutch.

Yep after I pass you on my 85 ATC250R all you’re gonna think is- “Now that’s what I should have bought. Lighter Faster and way more fun.”
Now I got a 16 year old loose M.O.M. hip.
Glad you could take that trip down memory road with us! Maybe someday you'll get new bionic and jump back into it!
I have ATV cravings that put a junkie to shame!! Fairbanks had trails in the ditches along most of the major roads, it was great, in the winter just had to wait till a few sleds packed it down, and the mining roads and trails around Ester Dome, where I grew up, were and still are amazing.
@@akbobtom I envy that life!

Cool! If you have any questions, let me know brother!
That's a common exhaust system though, im sure there's several options out there
@@DirtObseXXion appreciate that bud now I’ll go ahead and buy one
Had a yamaha blaster as a kid then a big bear now I have a 700 grizzly and a rmax 1000sxs but I still keep looking at the raptor 700. Im 36 now and know if I get one I won't behave on it and probably get myself in trouble......but I just might have to get one before I get too old 😅
I mean, it makes sense to round out the collection! It'll take you back to 16 again! Seriously though, riding Raptors tomorrow with a buddy who is pushing 60 and still shreds
Thanks Chad ! I’ve pushed 60 out of the way lol
The sec you get this home or even before buy a set of gbc xc masters my stock tires got a hole in the 3rd day i put the gbcs on and omfg the difference was night and day 100 % better ride better handling traction durability
We've run the XC masters quite a bit.. The sidewalls tend to fail if you run beadlocks. They're ok with normal wheels, but my go to are CST Pulses..
Whats new and upgraded? I have an 06 700r whats changed since then?
Cylinder head, compression, and fuel mapping.. Other than that, not a ton.. Cosmetic stuff obviously and a few minor things like guards for the stator wires..
I started xc racing my '22 raptor last year and will continue this year. The one downfall is the height compared to the yfz. It's almost best to run an mx style of a arms for maximum width but then for xc racing, that +3 can get expensive very quickly due to tight tree gaps
No doubt, the height is probably too much for XC.. What series are you running? The Viking, whose riding in this video races IXCR and MSXC..
@@DirtObseXXion
Yes it's a clear disadvantage during races but the speed and torque are amazing during field sections, hills and nasty mud. Last year I tried IXCR, MWXC and extreme. This year I'll be focused on the MWXC series and the ixcr season opener in my hometown of Attica
@@Cbwilson3383 Awesome! Hope to see you there!!!
I’m from Canada and we only have the 700R and the 450 , which sucks because it would be nice to have the other options
Yeah I saw that on Dirt Trax.. Kinda weird but probably has to do with sales since y'all seem to like big power and huge tires up there 😁
Just a question for you.
The Warrior actually had a six speed gear box
And racing?
@scottmallow5231 Best trails for quads are OHV areas in the National Forests.. The Daniel Boone has some areas not far from you.. Check Mid South XC for racing.. It's a regional winter series in your area TN/KY.. I don't see all my comments so if you ever need anything or have any other questions feel free to shoot me an email dirtobsexxion@gmail.com or DM me on IG 🤘
@@DirtObseXXion Great, thanks!
Who else thinks Yamaha should bring back the raptor 250? I had an 08 and it was bulletproof
I've got a built 07 honda 450er, ( like Viking's) 00 400ex and a 96 300 4×4. I would consider changing 2 of those for this Yamaha. You kinda sold me.
You'd be sent for another 20 years! I'd sell the 400 and the 300 and you'd probably be pretty close to having the $$$.. Keep that 450 because you never recoup the cash after you do a build!
