A month a half ago when I had knee pain and couldn’t bear weight on that side my physical therapist told me I needed to stay off it. So I bought a wheelchair and used it around the house for a month or so, combined with a walker if I needed to go somewhere. I’m finally having much less knee pain and am rebuilding the strength on that side. Exercises I’ve learned on this channel as well as exercises I’m doing with my PT have helped tremendously! I’m still not fully healed but there’s light at the end of the tunnel! Good luck everyone.

After discovering your videos a couple of months ago, I abandoned the quad-strengthening exercises I’d been doing (which seemed to be making the pain worse) and followed your advice about contracting the glute muscles. It’s taken several weeks, but at last I can say categorically that it’s working. The difference is truly astonishing, given the pain I was in and how well my knee feels now. I’d just advise anyone trying your method to be patient - keep working on these exercises, day after day, and the results will come.
    I can’t thank you enough. ✨✨✨

I have super strong quads from being a competitive cyclist and running all my life, but glutes relatively weak.
Your videos have helped me make some changes to my training.
I’ve reduced the mileage and added in 3 strength sessions/week.
The one excersise that hurts my knees is lunges.Probably due partly to weakness in the hip area .
Am sticking to the baby lunges you recommend.
Also regarding inflammation, would a change in diet help?
For example cutting out refined sugar, and many processed foods, soda and fast foods.

I am 64, recovering from a spinal fusion surgery. I have just found out it is a non-union and revision surgery is highly likely. My left knee has already had two surgeries over the years. The pain can be excruciating, but it will be at least a year before I could even consider knee replacement, which honestly seems inevitable to me. If I sign up for your knee arthritis program, which I would love to try, will I be able to do the exercises? I have limited mobility at the moment and can’t put any
weight on the left knee at all. I do very much want to do your program. I have extremely weak muscles in all those areas you described. I KNOW that is the root of the problem.

Yes ! Uneven ground is crippling for me!😢

    • @kennavarela9961
      @kennavarela9961 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

I think the problem navigating unlevel ground is due to weak toe muscles. I used to have that problem, I was very clumsy on uneven ground...but while working on helping a sore and swollen knee, the clumsy (or worse) navigation on uneven ground has been restored, and I can get around like when I was a kid. I've been doing the glute strengthening while walking for some time now, and was actually surprised to find while watching this video and tried glute squeezing while sitting ... that I can't activate the glutes exclusively, and I can't activate one side at a time, while sitting! My walking has improved dramatically because of using the glutes to move my feet rather than using the quads, so I thought I had the glutes covered!
I started the toe strengthening exercises a few months ago, and recently have started working on strengthening the abs. That has also helped my stability on uneven ground...I have felt the abs activate as I keep myself upright on unlevel surfaces.
The toe curls along with ab strengthening and glute activation have all played a part in helping me navigate unlevel ground.
But I think the toe strengthening specifically has really made a big difference in helping me keep upright on unlevel ground.

Excellent video - thank you! I actually don't have anymore knee pain, thanks mainly to you. I had terrible pain even after lots of PT, so I stopped going. Do you have this exact type of video that will prevent pain in the hip flexor? I stopped PT for that also, for the same reason, no relief except for your videos. The difference is that sometimes I'll get a sharp pain again in that same left hip flexor, but only when I do an exercise that aggravates it - and then it's too late - the pain is already there. It would be a huge help to know what motions to avoid for prevention, and what to do to stay pain free, same as this video. (some of the exercises I was given in PT actually made it worse, just as you said).

Hey there! I have flat feet and arthritic knee as well. I saw a sports med doctor and he suggested orthotics. I was fitted for them and, within a day of wearing them, felt my lower body completely re-align (felt like every muscle in my lower body had been through a rigorous workout). I wear them all the time now (even in the house) and notice a difference when I don’t have them on. I can say they’ve helped in not making things worse BUT they’re only one tool in dealing with this. The biggest help to me has been, like he said, strengthening the glutes and core. 😊
