The problem lies with multi current electric devices such as a mic and guitar and if you are holding a metal part of the guitar and the current to the mic is hot or not flowing to the earth such as a ungrounded stage that is not totally dry especially with bare feet as you touch the mic you are creating a third party current causing the electric current to pass through you and into the ground completing a circuit and letting the electricity flow through you resulting in shock. This is not a issue in most houses at the floor and house are grounds and all outlets but with a house or environment that’s not grounded especially with higher wattage you can suffer shock. The best is to keep your equipment on the same circuit and on a power bar so if something does go wrong your power bar will shut off the current and you will avoid shock or fatal shock anyway you might get a small zap.
