What types of paint did you use. Is it water base paint, latex, etc thanks
What size tape and paper are you guys using?
I did some sample colors on the stucco . After spray painting 3 layers I can still see the sample paint outline. I did not use a roller between the spray painted layers. Will that make a differences?
you can try spraying that spot with stain blocking primer ( www.homedepot.com/p/Zinsser-Bulls-Eye-1-2-3-Plus-13-oz-White-Interior-Exterior-Primer-Spray-272479/203985969) and then try a few more coats with paint. If it still does not cover properly, your only solution may be to paint using a rough nap roller from one corner of the wall to another.
You guys do such complete work!!! SO precise and polished!!!! Can you paint an alumiwood patio cover? And how about a metal just ordinary metal patio awning? Do you have a method of what color you paint the eves? Do you stick with the house color and then just paint the trim the other color? Or do you paint up under the eves and the trim the same color?? when we paint metal if never painted before we use ultra grip primer by dunn edwards and than same type of paint we use for the house on top. sometimes we use oil base paint like rustoleum without primer.
usually under the eves is same color as body and accent color for the fascia board.

should I paint my stucco house with the latex or elastomeric? Live in El Paso and my house has elastomeric now but still cracked after 7 years.
Never used elastomeric paint. We use only latex for stucco. Not able to give you a sound advice in your situation, sorry.
Accidentally deleted your 2nd question. If the surface prepped properly latex paint can last many years without any issues. It is the stucco that cracks; the paint on top only follows the stucco. Latex paint does not have any elasticity and it also a lot thinner than elastomeric paint and when there is a crack is stucco with latex paint you will see it right away.
Houses will always crack WHY? 1st paint is not a solution to fixing any kind of cracks on any kind of Cement or stucco it's just to beautify. Earth is continuously rotating houses sink it's normal

could be as little as 30 min in the summer to a few hours in the winter during colder days.

all depends on weather. could be as little as 30 min during Arizona summer.

Do you water down the paint for any reason when using a sprayer?
No. There is never a reason to water it down when spraying.
How important is the back roll? Could you just have sprayed the whole house without back rolling?
We could have and we usually do. On this house the stucco texture was a little rough, major color change, and the previous paint job was done poorly. So the combination of many factors, but mostly the home owner was willing to pay extra for backrolling and it was part of the contract. Spray painting only probably would have made the house look just as nice. Normally about 99 % of all our exterior jobs we do just spray paint without backrolling.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I worry about the stucco cracking again after the house is painted. That's why I'm having trouble picking the type of paint. That's were I need to be guided. i don't want to wast money or repaint 5 to 7 years down the road.
I would find local paint contractor who is knowledgeable in elastomeric coating, have them look at your house and let them give you a recommendation of what type of coating is best. Even for an expert in elastomeric paints, it would be hard to give an advice on type of paint you should use over the internet, without looking at the current condition of your paint first.

what colors where those?
Sorry, we usually leave all left over paint with the homeowner for touch ups if needed in the future and do not keep paint colors on file. As we do a lot of custom color matches those do not even have a color name just a color code - 3 long lines of numbers.
what tips do he use?
On most houses we use 4/13 on this one we might have used 5/15, but not sure as we painted this house a year ago.
