My favorite as well. James got his lyrics messed up the first couple times, so I think they are waiting until they nail it. I agree, straight chills with the powerful lyrics and feel of the song.

It may not be a Thrash metal album like it used to be, but the songs are really good, and i love the much heavier and slower pace (but again, I'm a Doom and Stoner fan, so the pure old school thrash metal fans just hated the turn that Load made for the band).
These Songs are better when they are detached from the album sound. Load and Reload are that much overproduced and perfected that they became boring because freshness was lacking completely. But as one can see here i.e., the songs themselves are very good here in a live setting.

Their most underrated album by far. It's way better than Reload, who has some more catchy songs for the normies and casuals (Fuel, Unforgiven II or the Memory Remains), but Load is way better written, and has a darker vibe in it. I still can remember arguing during my High School years with all my metalhead pals who were deep into thrash and and Death metal (so was I btw), and couldn't stand Load and just quit Metallica after Reload was out: for them the band were just sellouts who abandoned their way (curiously they didn't say that for Sepultura when the Root album was out... :D), and I was just trying to defend the band, telling them that Metallica was orientated towards a darker and slower pace kind of music, and I was fine with it (It was the time when I started listening to Kyuss, Fu Manchu and Candlemass, so I was OK with that), but the pure thrash heads couldn't accept it...

This was the song that got me into Metallica. I still remember that early morning sitting on the bus with my walkman as a freshman in high school, listening to the local rock radio station, this song coming on and being transfixed. That was it for me, fan for life!

As a Metallica fan since 91 (when I was 9) who understands their career and every studio album and circumstances, I gotta say: Load is my favorite Metallica album. There's not much I can say about it, it just hits me in the right way I guess.
I'm a musician and years ago I was interviewed by a small underground black metal magazine. When it was time for me to name my 5 favourite music albums, in my head I knew I wanted to choose one from Metallica. Almost chose Load, but, because of Orion alone, ended up being unoriginal, and said Master of Puppets. Today I regret my decision, because of one track. Overall, Load is my number one Metallica album.
It seems that whichever album comes out when someone's a teenager, tends to be their favourite. I love all of the albums except Hardwired but my favourite is still Death Magnetic.

It's like all their complete body of work is solidified on this tour. All the post-Black album tunes up til now come together well. These guys are becoming a machine on a whole new level this tour. But I wanna see them in a club next tour with an 8' high ceiling packed with 500 metalheads of all ages. They should play small towns tour with a small PA for a couple years in America. Or maybe even drive-ins if any still exist. That would rule.

Yes, Load is my fav also. I am much younger though. St Anger was my first album. I was 15. Now its my least fav album😅

this is by far the best set list they've had on tour. I'm a huge fan, but songs from seek, lightning, and the black album were getting out played too much. Now I get to hear load and reload songs live. Awesome. BTW, that was the tightest shit I've seen in a while from any band 4:55

It's like all their complete body of work is solidified on this tour. All the post-Black album tunes up til now come together well. These guys are becoming a machine on a whole new level this tour. But I wanna see them in a club next tour with an 8' high ceiling packed with 500 metalheads of all ages. They should play small towns tour with a small PA for a couple years in America. Or maybe even drive-ins if any still exist. That would rule.
