To all people saying about Lars' flawless double bass parts etc. I have been to this show, it didn't sound anywhere near as tight as on this recording. Their live videos are heavily edited. BUT... Who fucking cares? I have been to both shows in Paris and I am not kidding when I say that these were one of the best Metallica performances I have seen and heard in years. Cut all of them some slack, they have been doing this for 40+ years and its an absolute privilage to still be able to go and see and mosh to their music in a live setting in 2023 and onwards. All you moaners - leave it, buy a ticket to the nearest show and go and indulge in an absolutely unreal performance of 4 men who have been playing live music on stage longer than some of us have been on this planet. Long live Metallica and can't wait for Warsaw 2024. 🤘
I wish James brought out one of his old ESP MX-220's for this one. Other than that, this was an ECSTATIC performance! Also that intro with the glitching guitars coming in and out was really cool! That old justice tone is the most VISCIOUS and CRUSHING guitar tone I've ever heard.
5:06 You have to be looking right at him, to notice, it's that fast. In between notes and words, James throws a pick, retrieves another and continues. That's one of the more impressive elements of this performance. 5m08s is the correct time but, if you jump right in there, you might miss it. 🔥🤘
They just nail it live, I can't believe how awesome this performance is. This is a hard song to play. I've probably listened to Blackened more times than any other metal song, and it never grows old.
Wow, they killed it, I'm shocked at how amazing they're sounding considering they're pushing 60, they're performing at a level of men half their age and they're sounding downright incredible. Rob Trujillo's bass adds so much punch to this, fuck me, I hope to see these guys live sometime soon, because what a frigging show.
I've seen them in 1991, 1992, and 2022. Metallica 2022 was the best concert I have ever been to. I have been to hundreds of concerts from all likes of bands, and for Metallica in '22, I didn't want to leave my seat. Also, because my wife was at this concert with me for only the second time ever and she is now my new concert buddy!!! I digress, never heard this song in concert, that's why I love youtube!!!!
I would have to say that this is the best Metallica has played live in years. It's like they care again & have a little fire in them, as they did when they were young. Only difference is back on the AJFA tour, I seen them and the Cult for $30 a ticket. Now it's $250 to $300 for nosebleed, if you're lucky to get a ticket before they sell out 6 months before the show?
Probably the reason they aren't coming to my tiny Portugal, for this tour. And they play here all the time. I assume there's not enough market for such expensive tickets. Plus, for these gigantic concerts, unless you are right up there, close to the stage, it's not really worth it, in my opinion. To see them so far way. It's really psychologic, just to say "I WAS THERE!"
Metallica is very famous among certain Japanese circles. "Blackened is the end, winter, it will send" sounds like ""Baketsu relay, mizuyokose" in Japanese. It means "Passing water in buckets from person to person, give me the water."

I swear they do these Justice songs just to prove a point to people that say they can't do it. But I'm waiting out for that one day when play, James' voice kicks back to '88/'93 on one of these songs and it just gets everybody going wild.
Since they've come back from James at rehab and covid, Kirk has been exceptional! I feel like he's practicing a lot lately. Just listen to the video of No Remorse from last year and compare it to a video from like 2018 when they played it. Night and day difference

🤘
Give the sound guy a raise. The uploads for the last few months have sounded amazing… On another level
I hate how they cut out the post solo part with the straight drum beat. One of the best parts of the song in my opinion.
Agreed you would think kirk could do it simple hammer ons/ pull offs. The thing he does in 1/3 metallica solos.
yeah that’s my favorite part of the whole song lmao
Yeah that's annoying as hell. Best part of the solo
Too hard for them to play, they even mess it up in the Seattle concert.
I always get Fomo from that and have to go a listen the whole album 😅
Trujillooooo 🤘 Massive respect . Bass King !
I wish James brought out one of his old ESP MX-220's for this one. Other than that, this was an ECSTATIC performance! Also that intro with the glitching guitars coming in and out was really cool! That old justice tone is the most VISCIOUS and CRUSHING guitar tone I've ever heard.
Just saw this played live at Download in the UK and it blew my mind how good it sounded. Easily the most epic song of the night. What a show
Glad they're releasing vids of them doing their older songs for this concert 🤘🏻
6:46 is a dope ass shot. Lars smashing the drums and James in the backround doing his thing 🤘
I’m so glad they release videos like this. Metallica is always best live!!! Long may they reign!!
This song is the benchmark of how well they’re still doing at their age imo. And after seeing this, I’d say they’re no where close to being done.
5:06 You have to be looking right at him, to notice, it's that fast.
In between notes and words, James throws a pick, retrieves another and continues.
That's one of the more impressive elements of this performance.
5m08s is the correct time but, if you jump right in there, you might miss it. 🔥🤘
yeah and three fingers pick holding is tight also.
King Het and Count Hammett - the indisputable masters of down-picking for 40+ years and at their peak as a band right now. Fucking blessed 🤟
Fantastic, oneof my all time favorites!
You guys sound great! You haven't aged a day.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
These guys are 60 still playin stuff from this record flawlessly. Respect
Holy cow! I was NOT expecting the ol' boys to sound this good. THis is absolutely EPIC!
Brings a tear to my eye as I headbang 🥲🤘
Absolutely amazing they are so locked in and Lars is kicking some major ass
They just nail it live, I can't believe how awesome this performance is. This is a hard song to play. I've probably listened to Blackened more times than any other metal song, and it never grows old.
Forever the GREATEST band of Metal!!!! Long Live Metallica!!!!
They sound absolutely incredible and a fantastic performance. Man i really want to go to one of these shows!!!!
That's called value.
IIWII.
The pandemic hiatus put a little more fire in everyone
Lars has improved a lot his skills for this tour. No absurd fills, better double bass technique.
Yes I was at this show (and two days later) Lars made few mistakes and add somme very good fills !
The skills were there always he was just lazy last couple years
it is a fake bass drum track, pay attention at 02:48, he stop moving his left leg but the bass drums keep making its sound
@@rodrigocamposparada8821Glad to see I'm not the only one to notice that. This is a fucking playback double bass.
@@rodrigocamposparada8821ever heard of triggers?
The Lars improvment is insane! He got his game back up top LEVEL!
no just listen to those horrible fills
clearly you arent a drummer
I think so
@@donutguy3854 you aren't either
@@kurtcometa4818 nah dawg I'm a drummer
Metallica is very famous among certain Japanese circles. "Blackened is the end, winter, it will send" sounds like ""Baketsu relay, mizuyokose" in Japanese. It means "Passing water in buckets from person to person, give me the water."
Man they ever brought it with 72 seasons. It’s just a masterpiece. That’s what maturity does.
James voice is like some sort of Metal ASMR for my anxiety. He converts my anxiety into amped up energy and pure happiness. Forever grateful to Papa Het!
The "shortened" version of why I love Metallica so much?? You said it, "...they make me happy." Bam.
5:09 My favorite part of Blackened 🎸🎸
I hate that they don't play the whole solo section but what they play here(and fir their age)is incredible 😎👌 love metallica, I don't sometimes think people understand how physically demanding these songs are and that for the most part they are still playing them 👏♥️🔥
Papa Het's voice keeps getting better and better like a fine wine or an aging cigar in a humidor. Been along for the ride with the boys since i was 13 in 1981 and i am now 55 and still rocking Metallica daily. You boys are the GOAT, can't wait till you get back to the states so i can see you live again 🤘
You're 65, not 55.
all justice songs are deadly monstrous live because everything is in place!!
They are getting better and better. Incredible!
I am so grateful for this band and for that song especially! I was born in the early 80's, so this has been around most of my life, and unlike me, it has not gotten any worse with age.
Amazing to see ‘em blasting the stage and being in such kick ass shape!!🙏🤟
Amazing intro, fastest riff, thunder drums, and powerful bass, this is Metallica my friend!!!
All songs of Metallica are Hits ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
That's what I keep saying!!!
One of the best songs and so relevant
These guys sound tighter than ever. Also, it's really nice of them to upload such high quality tour videos for free.
I swear they do these Justice songs just to prove a point to people that say they can't do it. But I'm waiting out for that one day when play, James' voice kicks back to '88/'93 on one of these songs and it just gets everybody going wild.
Папа Хэд с возрастом становиться симпатичней))) вокально сильно прибавил. Выходит на пик девяностых. Люблю Металлику всем сердцем!)
James down picking stamina is amazing.. looks like a jackhammer chugging away on the guitar on that intro shot. 🤘🏾🔨🎸🔥
And at 60. Dude’s a beast.
1:34 the Speed of that downpicking was inhuman Papa-Het still has it
Aucune baisse de qualité, ce groupe est incroyable après 40 ans d'existence
J'adore ce riff écrit par Jason newsted
Seeing James playing it enthusiastically, as we can see at 3:06 , and sober, it makes every Metallica fan very happy
Favorite Song and favorite album Best Band in the world and we will never see another giant like these guys
These guys are at a late-career peak and they know it. Good on them!
5:33 kirk actually nailed the solo. Expected him to be sloppy but nah. Not even a bit. Props to him
Since they've come back from James at rehab and covid, Kirk has been exceptional! I feel like he's practicing a lot lately. Just listen to the video of No Remorse from last year and compare it to a video from like 2018 when they played it. Night and day difference
Are you high lol
@@soiboi5151 nah dude just haven't opened mind about them. They're literally almost 60
He flubbed it a little bit. Also changed it a bit which i didnt like too much. Overall pretty good though
@@chadmithoff3110 so are anthrax, testament, exodus, flotsam, voivod, overkill, the cavaleras (the real sepultura), I could go on and on about bands the same age that don’t play sloppy lead guitar and don’t pound one style of it into the ground.
