In their 60s and still kicking ass and showing new bands how its done. Incredible, the 4 guys are delivering incredible performances. And kudos to the sound engineers...the sound is crisp and loud.
Was literally playing this song like 4 hours before this. Gotta love it when the world gives you this! Loving the M72 videos, since I could never afford to go to a show
It's absolutely fantastic to see and listen to Wherever I May Roam getting so much love and energy and passion on this tour! One of Metallica's best songs hands down!
He's definitely trying his best. Far better than he was in the mid-2000's. Not as authoritive as he was in 1988-1993, but he's also 60 now so... can't complain at all.
Dude, he may be sound good but every time I try to play along live versions I realize how bad his timing is, damn I wonder how James Kirk and Rob get through this every night.
I think the hidden factor behind Metallica reaching this level of success: it's not the fast riffs, the original, go against the grain attitude and song writing... but their ability to be their true authentic genuine selves! That is what's so appealing to fans... there's a comfort and relatability in seeing fellow humans being their true selves. A level we all strive to reach. Watch other live bands. There's something missing, something off about their performance. You can feel it in the air - you're feeling them searching to find themselves, trying to be something they're not - Lars on the other hand is 100% true to himself and that comes across as real. And I think that's why this band was able to break through the mainstream and smash through the boundaries and carry the torch for heavy metal and hard rock music for other bands to follow. So many life lessons to be learned from following this iconic band. Here's to hopefully 20 more solid years! Long live Metallica
True. But let's also face it: they are the best metal band that ever was and ever will be. When Bon Scott, James Bonham, Randy Rhoads, Phil Lynott, Curt Cobain, Layne Stayley, Ronnie James Dio or Lemmy Kilmister (and all the others I can't think of right now) passed away it was a huge loss for the movement. When the guys from Sabbath, Maiden, Slayer, Judas Priest, Guns n' Roses, AC/DC are going to leave us, it will be an insane loss. But when Metallica leaves this world? The entire metalheads and metal band members are going to be in grief and mourning for at least a year. They are the pumping heartbeat of Metal from the depth of the 70's where they took all their inspiration, the 80's when they wrote the legend of metal music, the 90's where they transcended metal music, and the XXIrst century where they revived it when everything was changing so fast. They are a monument to music, and people will listen to them in the XXIVth century just like people still listen today to Bethoven's or Bach's music...
Also one factor as they say themselves is that they do only what they love to do. They do this not only for the fans, but very very much for themselves. They go up on stage and having a really great time and having fun. And it shows. I remember Lars saying in Some kind of monster that he refuse to go up on stage like a f*cking joke. Meaning he will not go on stage only playing because the record-companies want him to, or just to be a band living on past successes. He wants to be right here and now in step with time and look forward. In other words be authentic.🙂
They definitely feel very genuine, but it would be nothing without the music imo. They wrote some of the best if not the best metal music ever. They transcended thrash, and came up with their own personal and ambitious sound. Master Of Puppets album is a high that has not been surpassed, by any band.
@@laporte1625 I think they consider they have surpassed the MOP album with the Black Album, but most of the metalheads would disagree (including myself!)
Столько лет в месте практически с бессмертным составом и выглядят как будто им по 20 лет заряжены энергичны и всегда готовы дать мировой тур молодцы мужики так и надо и пусть остальные завидуют молча
I've seen metallica many times, and they never disappoint. The shows are always awesome, if any one saw the cunning stunts tour live, they know what I'm talking about. My first visit to Detroit and it was to see this concert 😅.
I think in part it's the way they tour now, with a few weeks on and a few off. That lets them stay fresh physically. Also playing the no repeat sets seems to have lifted both them and the fans, so many bands will just grind out the same set for a whole tour yet Metallica are playing 40 or so different songs over 2 nights.
Half the band is eligible to eat at any NYC senior center for a suggested $1.50 - and they can each bring one younger guest along. It would be epic if Metallica showed up to one for a pop-up set at a senior lunch program. My mom was the director of a senior lunch program for many years, and was an art consultant prior to that. She would have totally invited the band, but she became ill and passed about 5 years ago. She always loved when her 90 years olds did more than most 20 year olds, but there were 60-70 year olds who were fresh out of retirement age and really feeling like they were suddenly old. She would have loved the idea of an epic band (or several) surprising seniors to show them that you’re only as old as you feel in your mind, even if your body isn’t what it once was - and these guys are NOT old. I mean, look at Rob’s crab walk while effortlessly playing a bass on point. Kirk’s nimble guitar fingers. Lars’ timing and physicality seems better than ever. Het is just pure riff monster with his speed. I know James has expressed feeling old sometimes, and maybe doing an event like I suggested would also show him that he’s anything but old for all he’s still actively doing - not just with the band, but his classic car hobbies, charity events, book events, enjoying his home, beautiful family, etc. He’s kinda doing the same stuff that he’s done for many years. He should not feel old. He should feel incredible - if he ever wants to date this 42 year old (hi James!), it would be my honor to do so. I never wanted to date anyone more than ten years older, yet I don’t see him as being old at all. Would love to have the chance to change his mind, lol. Dreams are free, folks! 😂😂😂
Frigging epic as usual! As a fan that hasn't been able to attend any concert for the past 25 years due to real life issues, I love seeing these videos. The sound and quality are so amazing it almost feels like I am at the venue.
Yep. The microphones and the reverb captured every detail like the audience singing like they are all around you. The mixing is close to being muddy but I think that's intentional on the part of whoever the tech. High quality headphones are necessary to enjoy the audio.
Metálica é sensacional. Músicas antigas com arranjos maravilhosos. Quanta energia eles têm. TE AMO METÁLICA. TE AMO MUITO JAMES. KISSES! VENHAM NO ROCK RIO. QUEREMOS VE-LOS OUTRA VEZ. O BRASIL AMA VOCÊS.
My favourite song from the black album! It’s just that good! Thank you, Metallica for blessing those (especially me) who are unfortunate enough to attend live, by giving us these uploads. I would so love to attend live one day, and I hope so that my wish comes true.
I JUST LOVE THIS MAN SO MUCH, AS A HUMAN BEING AND SOURCE OF POWER. HE IS JUST AMAZING. THAT "YEAH!" THAT ONLY HE CAN MAKE IT GOES THROUGH NY BONES. ITS WORTH BEING ALIVE TO BE ABLE TO HEAR AND SEE HIM. I TRULY LOVE YOU JAMES. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST IN THIS LIFE AND I HOPE I GET TO LOOK INTO YOUR EYES ONE DAY AND GIVE YOU A BIG HUG.
I was there about 10 people away from the stage. It was definitely epic! I had told my buddies I just wanted 1 out of 3 of the following songs and I would be happy: 1) Wherever I May Roam , 2) Whiskey in the Jar, or 3) Moth into Flame.....They ended up playing all 3 in a row! Imagine how crazy it was for my group having them line up like that haha! So good. Also caught a guitar pick :). Metallica put on for Detroit for sure!
One of my favorite Metallica songs, one of the best tracks on black album
WHEREVER I MAY ROAM + FADE TO BLACK = tattoo a BIG M in my wrist
Too is one of my favorite songs of Black Album
Actually the 3rd song favorite
It's my favorite song too ❤❤❤
Can't argue with that.
my favourite Metallica song.... still roaming baby since it was released 32 years ago
Gosh how much I LOVE Wherever I May Roam. This song will forever be in my top 3. The solo is forever the iconic wah solo.🔥
The guys smile to the right in the crowd at 4:16 when he was close to Robert did my day! Genuine happiness and also without a cell phone! Awesome!! 🤩
haha I thought the same thing!!! that's a genuine feeling, I'm sure the guy will cherish this memory forever
Yeah Robert is a badass going out into the crowd like that! While still playing and keeping his balance🤘🏼
Cant blame.. id be starstruck even
James is a beast of a frontman
james is in such good shape both physically and mentally! he killed it at this show!
That intro absolutely incredible
7:25😂

First song to hear by Metallica back in 1991 and the song the got me hooked on everything metallica.

One of my favorite Metallica tracks from the Black Album ❤️
AGREEEWWWWWWWW
I love it too so fuckin heavy🔥
Cool song🤟
Amazing how metallica gives us high quality videos for FREE!!
FR
They learned after the Napster debacle!
And still so many people putting up their own crapvideos..
Yeah just the phones down and be preset
Where can I get the rest of the videos? They only upload a few
I was there!
Enjoyed seeing younger generations enjoy great music!!!
Metallica is sounding so good since the Worldwired tour they are in their 2nd prime
Agreed
Worldwired was goated.
🤟💯🎸
you mean after jason newsted left? For sure best playing Ulrich since them.

I was there with my 13 year old daughter for her birthday!!! This was the best present I could have ever given her!
4:03 love that guy all in awe seeing Robert!
I'm in love with this song 🤟🤘
I love Metallica🤟🤘
It's absolutely fantastic to see and listen to Wherever I May Roam getting so much love and energy and passion on this tour! One of Metallica's best songs hands down!
30 years and this song sounds amazing.
Lars sounds amazing, so does the rest of the band, but this tour Lars hasn’t disappointed and went the extra miles. Gotta love the guy👑

Damn straight
My jaw hit the ground when he actually went for the double bass in One that night. I'd heard he hadn't been able to for years
He started a bit weak but he kept improving as the song went on🤘🏼
Kirk was mighty impressive in this one!
Dude, he may be sound good but every time I try to play along live versions I realize how bad his timing is, damn I wonder how James Kirk and Rob get through this every night.

The Voice Is Still The Same Frequency of Early 80's...Damn Awesome...🙏❤️🔥
It’s better, much better.
Kirk's final solo was so good. 🔥
He's been sounding better on this tour than he's sounded in years. Something seems to have lit a fire under his butt.
the solos in this song are copped from Hendrix almost note for note
And the earth becomes my throne
I adapt to the unknown
Under wandering stars I've grown
By myself but not alone
I ask no one

These guys are in their late 50s and they sound better than bands in their 20s. Metallica is one of the best bands ever.
60’s now. All of them.

Real talk!
My one of favorite songs! That sound is amazing! Metallica❤🤘
Metallica gets better and better each time you listen to them, it's crazy, those live versions are astounding.
I love that this video kept the part in about not being able to figure out a good ending. Incredible show and one of the greatest moments of my life.
The mic got knocked over like 3 times during the show. I don't know if it was rowdy fans too close to the edge or what.
what a tune, timeless excitement , Hoa !!!!
All of these new intro tapes for this tour are awesome!!

I think the most amazing thing about metallica concerts are their fans. The energy is just amazing.
Superb! One of my faves!!!!
still killing it!!!
James sounds so tight and well in this one, he was having difficulty in singing this song a few years ago, it’s great to see him like this.

This is the song of the century! Not one bad word yet affective to be hard to the core!
somehow i still hear the orchestra even if it is not there, Michael Kamen was an OG Jedi Master, the SyM1 arrangements elevated the songs so much!
I was there it was awsome
