Never judge a book by its cover.. spudd Webb I salute you bruh 💯
Little man making history with his terrific dunks in 1986. Everyone was surprised to see him with his cool dunks.
I'm 5'10" and in my prime, I could only dunk a tennis ball about 75% of the time lol. Now at 43, I just tried a few times and couldn't even touch the rim anymore lol. I was about 2" away! This guy Spud Webb at 5'6"-5'7" could not only dunk, but he wins the slam dunk contest against professionals! I remember watching this in amazement as a kid. Such incredible ability!
Don't worry I will take this as an inspiration sir, I am 5'9 dunking on regulation rims but can barely palm the ball not only do I play basketballs but volleyball too so I developed that 'hops' just by hustling around, doing squats doing some vertical program and I am only 18.
I hear ya man, I have a hard time reaching my socks nowadays.
Yeah best slam dunk contest I ever He deserved to win I love the fact he went against his teamate 💯
It's better than 5"6 just touching rim due to not able to palm. Couldn't even cradle ball in palm . Just high enough to touch rim at 5"6 , 30years ago, lol. Now I don't even touched the court, lol.
You’re a giant. I’m 5”7
He is the innovator .He was also an incredible shooter dropping twenty plus points in a single game. An amazing all around basketball player. His dunks are clean , lots of powerful gripping on the hoop during dunks . You do not see that with people his height today . Lots of talent out there but Spud won the NBA dunk contest at three to four inches shorter than any of the other shorter NBA dunkers. This distance of his arms over the rim in reverse dunks was incredible . He is the King . My salute to the greatest of all time .
The little guy shocks everybody in that Slam Dunk Contest.
The fact, if they call him “little guy”. Darren Sproles, Barry Sanders the list can go on. Short athletes are the best athletes. Anybody can play basketball if they’re 7 foot tall.
I've never seen anyone do the 360 off one leg since Stansbury.
I've never seen him dunk till I watched this a few years ago and I think it was a monster dunk Statue of liberty Wilmington Delaware in the house
Zach lavine did it from almost the free throw line a few years ago.
Amazing....
5 foot 7 can dunk 360°
They looked so old to be so young back then.
'Cause at that time men grow up faster than today
The 360 1 handed Statue of Liberty Dunk didn't get a lot of attention but that dunk from Salisbury one of the best ever! Not #1 but a dunk many of US never can forget! It was so SWEET over Dynamic like the MJ 15 footer or Wilkins double pump dunk!
I was good at blocking shots of 6 footers off the double team assist defense, at 5"6 lol. Loved sneaking up to block jump shots, but it was 30years sgo
That last exchange of dunks and how Nique clearly chose a less dramatic dunk to essentially usher Spud to the championship podium, that is not only pure class, but that literally saved lives in the streets by giving shorter in stature kids a reason to believe they could play in the NBA too. Beautiful.
Great comment man
Unfortunately it's just not true, Wilkins was extremely upset he lost according to his teammates
Webb had tiny hands which made his one hand dunk impressive
15:45 I could watch this dunk on a constant loop and be amazed every time I see it!!
12:46 great dunk. T. Stansbury one of my favourites and a very crafty dunker.
Great dunk contest, especially once Dominique gets involved in the 2nd round.
I’m not reading any of your comments. Spud Webb is a fucking man. If you are 5 foot seven and can dunk a basketball you are a fucking amazing athlete.
Wow seeing this again is just still amazing after all these years. 😮
What a time to be living
Missing a lot of 1st round dunks tho. Still EXCELLENT video overall! Enjoyed every second of it.
You joined 14 YEARS AGO?
I remember telling my son anyone 5' 7" that dunks should win. and then he kicked ass. even his team mates were schocked
The 2nd dunk by Spud Webb and the announcer goes wooh that's when you know it was over...LOL
Vince Carter: "Over the chair..........pffff!"
Speaker: "Isn't that incredible!"
Vince Carter: "Yeah....."
Legend 👍👍👍
Announcers are killing me
I remember how Dominique tried to say spud didn’t really win this one. Yes he did.
Doubt that Nique said that
When did he say that? What interview was this in?
never said that
Bullshit
BS he loved Spud and always spoke highly of him even though he was disappointed in many of the scores that he got AND he was right!
Was a very good don t contest... ofcourse with webb! But wilkings did great too.very powerfull dunks..
Stansbury gets 39 for free throw dunk but when Jordan does the same exact dunk the year after he gets 50? Lmao
Back then, apparently the ball wasn't supposed to make any contact with the rim. So he got docked over 10 points it seems. Haha
2 50s in 88, including the game winner.
Look at the air time and style
@@javierochoa8204 if it's from the same TAKE OFF SPOT.....same HEIGHT.....the difference in hangtime is nought... or so small to be unmeasurable to the human eye
Jordan did it with Flash/Flare..
Love Spud and amazing that he can do what he did BUT lots of low scores for Dominique and too many 50s for Spud.
The Jordan stopper I was a Gerald fan
D Wilkins always do the same dunk over and over again in the dunk contest
It was 1986 that’s what you did back then
The altitude depends on bouyancy leap...incredible clucth leap...
I think the last Dominique's dunk was a 50 and his 360 prior was a 48.
Spud is still the greatest little man dunker of all-time, in the NBA. Earl Manigault is the greatest street ball little man dunker ever.-Just my opinion
They didn’t have no support in them shoes.. you lose up to 6 inches off a leap if you don’t have good shoes man.
Leagendary
Amazing to see the teammates go at it smh
Conservative dunk for a 5'7 guy?
Woooow...wuuu
Pintar slam dunk. Seumpama sulit tidur bca Allahulaaaaailla haillahuwa alhayyulqoyyumlata khuduhusina tuwwalaanaum berulang sampai tertidur
These commentators are ass... but the dunks are organic the true original form ...created the path for the new era dunkers .. spud could of Compete today off sheer gifts & athleticism
Those commentators were top level for 1986. They were the ball sack elite.
What was that dunk by Tyler? Lmao. 🤣🤣
What’s this song
They went from jumping over a chair to jumping over a car 🤣🤣
They Robbed Dominique
Watch the 1988 Slam Dunk Contest. Dominique REALLY got robbed in that one.
And two years laters Webb doesn't even get past the first round.
Flair? Charisma?
i once dunked from half court
Thats nothing i dunk half a dozen into my coffee mug everyday
@@edub9930 🤣
That’s nothing, I dunked off my school building.
What is half court to you? 10ft from the goal?🤣🤣
I was in a dunking booth with speedos on and a shirt so dat da children couldn't see my man titties! 😬☻☻😬🤣🤣🤣🤣
if spudd was 6 ft 9 he would of left from the oposit free throw line flew across the whole court, unnatural ability,is there a movie about spudd there shoulld be.loads to put in it,you know he was picked on you know people told him he couldnt do it....he was to short.
360 lol more like 195
Not compared at all to the dunks now ah days
10:11
Stupid %$#@!& judges!! Didn't realize what they just saw!!
Dominique extended his Tomahawk lower to bring the ball up from his crotch!! (Pause it at 10:41.)
S/B a 50!! Or at least a 49!
47 was an insult!
But that's alright, the following year the commentators do point out from how low he brings it.
Mugsy Bogues has dunked It wasn’t something He could just do
But He has. Think of that. Too bad cameras were not all around for that back then.
There’s pros & cons to everything. 😁
Spud & Nate are The Man’z & them’z tho
Terry Tyler should’ve won it! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😢😮😅😊😂
They sucked, i coulda finished 2nd
