Macedonia is on my Euro travel bucket list now! Lake Orhid and Skopje seems cool, I’ve also heard so much good about the macedonian versions of Balkan food, the nature and culture/hospitality. Very underrated country that seems to become more popular with tourists! I would like to combine Macedonia with visits to Kosovo and Albania as well - is it easy to cross the borders from Macedonia? And are there any other “hidden gems” to see?
Canadian with Macedonian parents here... I come to you with a pro tip: cigarettes are cheap as fuck out there....whenever going on a hike, smoke a few darts (don't have to inhale). The wildlife automatically associates that scent with local hunters and dangerous prey like boars, bears and wolves will keep their distance.
