The transmission and rear end share the same fluid in these old kubotas. Originally 80w gear oil but kubota now recommends UTD.

I have same tractor and kabota told me that it is one oil for transmission and hydraulic system

Usually share oil as it keeps oil cooler

Never seen a 3-pt go down without weight on it lol, as for the tranny I heard that some Kubota's share oil and others don't

Using same fluid for transmission and hydraulics is typical for farm tractors. Nice work bartering for a new cylinder.

looks like you should have adjusted the internal linkage control rods when you had it apart
