Haven’t had to take a test in 10 years here in California. Very thorough video and I’m sure this will be very helpful for people who have to go take the test. I remember ours was just a circle 8 and I had to stay inside the lines and they were only about 2 feet apart. I only practiced one direction and nailed it so the dmv guy made me do it in the other direction lol. I almost didn’t pass but I did it and my old man said it was foul that he made me do it

@Aka Bull Moto Thanks! I keep all my paperwork in a ziplock baggie under the seat, so I always have it. I've been practicing figure 8's in the road infront of my house which is smaller that that box so I think k I'm ready. Got about 500 miles of street riding too.

I took the test on an auto matic honda-the instructor made me do extra stops consecutively after each serpentine run. Your mileage may vary 🏍

@@AkaBull He asked me to return with a manually operated bike within 30 days, guess I'm riding without a license like I have been for the last 34 years LOL. No way I'm buying another one just to pay the man another test fee.
You should try a different DMV first before you give up. You may have better luck with someone else.

How do you get registered and insured? I'm here in P.A. Philadelphia.
Keith the bike has to registered and insured, it's the same prosses as any car. If you get the bike from a dealership they'll make sure that's done before you leave, if you buy the bike used from a third-party make sure they give you the title so you can take it to the DMV and register the bike there. You can buy insurance online after. Please be safe out there brother 🙏

I was there practicing at that exact location on my fatboy. i feel leaning your body foward felt good but I have ape bars on mine.
You'll get it, it just takes a little time. Just try to go as often as you can and practice before the test. You got this 💪🏼. Good luck on the test 💯💯💯💯
I maybe am interested in a M license. It's just a thought right now, I'm gathering as much information as I can before I decide if this is something I want to go through with. Although I'm not interested in riding a motorcycle, the whole set of getting a permit, taking lessons and eventually getting the license are still necessary for scooters(which is what I'm interested in getting) over 50cc.
I've been doing research, I saw there are a few ways to get a M license in Pennsylvania. The basic riding course is an example of one way I've read about.
Which way do you think is easiest? Also any advice in general? I fear I won't be good at this if I do decide to go for it, specifically motorcycle riding. I have no experience at all😅
Hey DB, if you can ride a bicycle you are off to a great start. But it's not as hard as you think, once you have time to practice you'll be good. Find a parking lot to practice and go as often as you can before going on the road. You won't regret it, you'll have so much fun once you get into it, you'll wish you did it sooner. As for the easiest was to get the endorsement, I believe the MSF course would be the way to go. It's free and you can mess up a few times before they fail you, plus they don't make you do the figure 8s from what I was told by a friend who completed it. @@D27scorpio So you weren’t practicing basically lol. You have to get out to the parking lot and practice more, like as often as you can. You’ll get it, but you have to practice…
@AkaBull i didn't practice at all.. i thought with my daily driving and normal riding practice, i would get it, but i see it don't work that way, i have till april before my permit is expired so yes i will put in time to practice before i go again to the course.
@@D27scorpio Yeah you’re not the only one to make that mistake. People think because they ride all day long for weeks they can just pass the test. The figure 8 actually requires you to lean the bike lower and turn the bars farther than you normally would while riding on the street. In this video I have the measurements for the figure, use them to build your figure 8 box and practice, you’ll get it, it just takes time and practice 💯

I'm in pennsylvania and thinking if I should take this or the msf course. Only problem I have is the msf course is 3 long days. I do have my own bike. And been practicing alot in the parking lot around me.
The msf course is almost a guaranteed to pass. But if you don’t want to give up your 3 days, the test is also pretty easy once you can do the figure 8s. If I were you I would go to the DMV on the days their close and practice in their box. That’s what I did. Good luck brother…
get a used Grom or even a fake one & take the test on that! why do you think they are so popular in pa lol everyone just takes the test on a Grom & then sells it lol
@@BoxingLegends2024 Yeah but everyone doesn’t have money like that to lay out. Suppose he bought the bike he wanted already, is he supposed to go buy a $3,000 Grom just to take the test, then turn around and try to sell it for $2,500 maybe $2,000?
Hi! Great video, you explained everything very well! I am going to be taking my test soon and this has helped a lot! Quick question, when you pass and get your motorcycle license, is it a physical card like your drivers license or is it just a piece of paper like the permit? Or do you have to take a picture again and they add class M to your license? Pretty much what I'm asking is if you have to take a picture again the day that you pass your test.
Hey Miah, it's just a endorsement they add to your existing license. So basically you get a new license with the M endorsement on it. You only have to take a new picture if it's close to expiring.

What if my bike is automatic
You still do the test as normal, they still want to know you can do figure 8s and do a control stop in the box.
My question is pa says vehicles except motorcycle shall be equipped with turn signals so are they just gonna ask for hand signals?
Hey Ethan, that I don't know about. I know at my DMV they literally inspect the bike before the test.
Now if your bike was manufactured with out turn signals you may need to call or stop in your local DMV and ask a question about that.
But, if your turn signals are simple not working, you'll need to have them fix before the test.

I live in Allentown. You need to hurry it's starting to get cold out. Good luck on the test, it's pretty easy once you practice your figure 8s, that's the hardest part of the test. Be safe out there brother 🙏

do you fail if you look down as you click your controls for horn and lights and whatever
The tester will give at least one chance. Just don't do it more than once. If the tester had a bad morning, that's your a$$. Try practicing finding your control every time you go out on the bike. You'll get it, no worries 👍
I read they have smaller box 30x35 for small cc bikes. I have ninja 400 any idea what box i use
There’s only two boxes, one for the trikes and the other for regular bikes. The dimensions in this video are for the regular bikes. It doesn’t matter what cc you have, you’ll do the same box as everyone else. Good luck on the test brother. By the way, did you get that bike from Blackmans cycle?
I have a dct transmission will they let me use my bike with it being a automatic
If I'm not mistaken, you'll be able to take the test, but you'll be limited to an automatic license.
