    This is a brilliant video, my man!
    So easy to forget yourself and to get a bit bogged down in detail and become despondent.
    And then you hear Eric Clapton bringing it home to you, talking about a lifetime's work! And it all feels right again...
    Great, easy to follow lesson too!
    Thank you!

    I think Clapton’s statement about taking a few days is based on how he historically takes time off from playing in between tours due to his sore fingers. I mean by this point he had completed his Robert Johnson recordings but imo he’s implying that he still has to spend a few days honing the spirit of Robert Johnson

      @StevenBazin-bp4sc well that’s a great point which is why Chet Atkins created a club for the “best players in the world” reserved for those like Jerry Reed, Tommy Emanuel, Mark Knopfler ect as the independent thumb way of playing is simply something that is so difficult to learn that imo it will either become apparent to the learner wether they can ever do it or not

      Lol your last sentence “in a way” suggests you wouldn’t have it any other way? I know looking back we could of maybe had things easier but it’s the initiation imo

    Yeah the big picture for the standard long A songs are just set up for individuality imo

  • @andrewbowen6875
    @andrewbowen6875 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Well for those of us who were entirely self taught with no ideas or players to bounce off, isn’t the whole process one of seemingly stagnation and spurts of growth? I can’t really explain it how something has just clicked this week that has allowed me to learn Love in vain from your tutorial and to a good standard with independent thumb finally kicking in

      I mean I have been following you for some time as I do appreciate the message you get across. As opposed to those channels that just suck the life out of everything by learning note for “songs”. I never thought I would come close to independent thumb and it’s never gonna be Jerry Reed but nonetheless it’s my own thing. Anyway love anything on Robert Johnson and Skip James and I would love someone to try and break down JB Lenoirs Noah and the whale as nobody has tackled it
