That polini cylinder was warped and had other issues as well. I think it was manufacture defect. I have run a lot of polinis and this was the first one that was completely garbage.
I wanted to throw the engine together and see how it runs. I am going to take it apart after riding it and change the porting a little bit and gas port the piston.
@@Corn-ped I just noticed that you put in the 1 ring piston that came with it, and so I took mine apart to do the gas porting and then it dawned on me that my bike ran weak with that piston, so I researched it and found that the intake holes on the piston are way too small and made for a piston port intake I believe. I swapped in the alukit 2 ring piston with a huge intake port and it ran waaay better. I first ran a Dello 21mm race, then swapped in a 24mm Mikuni flatside and it has more power, but not any more top end, ( due to my estoril pipe most likely, and the low revving ZA). I think there are chats about this piston problem and Dana from treats is aware of it but can't change what Athena sends to them.
What a waste of time. You can buy a used MC cheaper, and get more speed and milage at the same time. And still it makes me "cry inside" from missing my Minarelli 50 cc with a 7.5 hp cylinder and top, 19 mm Delorto with a stack and a Silentum Jet exhaust in a small lady's bike frame with no lights, brakes or anything else "unneeded" wieght 40+ years ago - 55 kmh in 1. over 70 in 2. a great deal over 85 in 3. and nobody ever could get close i 4. 13-26 sprockets, and once, in hard wind from behind, I went so fast, that I was afraid, the motor would explode.. Sold it "for nothing", when I got an MZ 150 - how dumb can a kid be...
In the intro I said its the Small Port Reed. It is just the Small Reed. It has NORMAL ports. Woops.
Thanks for the vid...would have liked to seen the end result and how it performed
Athena is the way to go. Did a bunch of standard piston port Athena 70s they always ripped harder then any other piston port kit. Very high quality.
I cant wait to tear it apart and start porting it!
We only had 65cc polini beginning 90s. Did love it though.
Hello buddy, I'Portuguese and I'd like to know which carburetor you're using for that cylinder 👌
If I remember correctly I went with a 21mm PHBG Clamp carb.
What happened to the polini that had been on this bike?
It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts on how those two kits compare.

Woiiiiii woiiiii
I thought you upgraded this bike to rear suspension?
yeah a lot of people thought that.
what is the thickness of the carbon valves that you put on the valve box?
I went with 0.3mm Polini carbon reeds.
Why no gas porting on the piston?

@@Corn-ped I have that same kit on my magnum za50. I'm going to take it apart and do the porting.
@@rexsheler1321 how do you like it? I have never run this kit before

@@rexsheler1321 yeah I am going to cut a huge window in the piston and maybe drill some holes in the skirt for boost ports.
Reeds no window hmmm. This kit sucks unless you put the windowed piston on it.
Lol yeah you mean those little holes are not enough?

That’s not the point not wit. If you like motorcycles then go watch some squid videos and not moped ones.
