    I love how this is edited and cut, I hate watching a video that could have been about 8 minutes (like yours) and they end up like 30-40 minutes because they show them unscrewing every single bolt and are talking about every tool and every single little thing they’re pulling apart… Thank you! I’m going to rebuild my Maxi next winter👍🏻

    Interesting seeing it done with tools anyone can get . I like watching other people do this because I taught myself and it's not the only way lol

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah I taught myself how to do it and I didn't use the proper tools in the beginning but it works just fine. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make the video with the tools that I now have or if the way that I used to do it and most people would.

    What causes crank knock? Is it just play in the wrist pin or has the crank just become off balance?

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      usually its a bad bushing/bearing on the rod.

  • @andrew9nation
    @andrew9nation 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The engine was in surprisingly good condition despite the age and the minor issue with crank. Minor issues can become big ones so good thing it's getting taken care of

    How long did it take you would you say to get that motor off and disassemble it?

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ehhh it takes me like half an hour. But with filing it, it takes like an hour.

    how did you take the flywheel screw the first one not talking about fly wheel puller but the nut because when i tried to unscrew it the whole crankshaft was turning but yours wasnt how is that possible? u just held it with hand i tried as well but the force is too big i just cant hold it with my hand (the flywheel)

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use a little m18 driver. You can hold it with a piston stop, but that can sometimes damage the top end. or you could use a ratchet strap to hold the flywhee.

    Hey man, got the treats in un stuffed crank in the freezer tonight. I had four seals in that engine. There are two black and two purple ones. I also had one case bolt missing that was OEM. I am switching over to new case bolts. I am taking this thing slow and making sure it is all right. The final drive bearings where the worst in my opinion but will need to be replaced. I plan to mainly focus on getting the crank shaft section done first that is it. I'll take a brake and look at diagrams and then jump on the final drive rebuild. Thanks for all your videos. Your officially the MOPED Wizard.

      @Corn-ped  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks man! Take it slow. You should only have three seals. You said you had four?

    • @Outback69
      @Outback69 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it had four. Two purple (OG) and two black. No I was not drinking that night! I saw four! @@Corn-ped

    Do I order a 12mm bing carb or 15mm? rebuilding my 79 puch Magnum mk2

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are rebuilding it stock I would do at least a 14mm. 15, would be even better. Make sure to get a real Bing and not a clone.

      @Fluidifiedmindz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Corn-ped before posting my ? A 12 bing style carb was already in route but I do appreciate your quick response. I Installed it then ding dong I was just chugging along so I'm thinking nice it fired right up so it will again the 2nd time..nope. The chain on the right side of the bike broke it was pretty crusty rusty so my question now is what steps should I take in order to properly restore before I just jump the gun and ride?

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Fluidifiedmindz Oh no. Your pedal chain fell off? You can buy a single speed chain at any hardware store of bike shop. You will need a chain break tool and a pliers. Check out this video where I replace the pedal chain.
      I can make another better video just about pedal chains!

    I just cleaned all the parts in my E50, but now the bearings on the main gear and crankshaft sound a bit dry. Do i need to lubricate it with special bearing lubricant of just the standard ATF oil for the main gear and 2 stroke oil for the crankshaft?

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah you should oil or grease them before installing. They will self lube once the engine is running. I usually just use 2 stroke oil.

  • @jasonp8025
    @jasonp8025 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Will you also do a ZA50 engine rebuild?

    • @Corn-ped
      @Corn-ped  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah eventually! I have one but it doesnt need a rebuild right now.
