Dr. Esselstyn saved my husband's life. It's been 10 years since my husband had 2 99% blocked arteries. Dr. Esselstyn called and counseled us and we put in his measures and my husband has been event free and medication free for ten years. We are featured on page 7 in Ann's recipe book. We got to meet Dr. Esselstyn in Des Moines about 8 years ago. What an amazing man!

Dr. Esselstyn called me in 2000. It was just a phone call but he spent about an hour talking to me and told me that if I went on the diet as he recommends, that I could reverse my heart disease. This was after my second heart attack took out the bottom 1/3 of my heart and my three cardiologist and cardiac surgeons told me I only had a couple months to live. At that time I didn’t even realize that my diet was causing my heart disease. Anyway, I’ve had 22 more years so far. Thank you for that call Sir. I also love watching the ladies cooking show and the open face lemon kale sandwich is one of my staples. Thanks not just to you but do your entire family. You’ve got something to really be proud of in your family.
During Covid I suffered a stroke. And thanks to your father’s book, which I read from cover to cover. And I followed his plan for over 21/2 years. I was able to reverse not only my stroke, but the other problems including HBP, and high cholesterol and so on . Rip your dad is the man . Plant strong forever baby ❤❤❤❤
Dr. Esselstyn seriously saved my life, and the life of my husband! I've told him personally in Sedona with tears in my eyes!! I know he hears it a lot, but I also feel in my heart that he appreciates it too! I'm 59 years old, I've lost 90 pounds and weigh 114. My husband is 62, lost 100 pounds and weighs 189. I've had serious heart issues, diverticulitis, acute problems with lupus, kidney stones, and a 315 total cholesterol. My husband had serious problems with high blood pressure and cholesterol. We are now living life fully, with no excessive doctor/hospital visits, and barely any meds. We are 11 years whole-food-plant-based-no-oil, and only wished that we would have done it sooner!! Try it if you're on the fence...you will thank me, I promise!!
Much love and respect to Dr. Esselstyn, Caldwell, Barnard, Ornish, Gregor, Fuhrman, Khan, Karvalho, Popper, Bulsiewicz and many others for educating us on health.
I am male 55 years old, I live in Denmark 🇩🇰, 2 years ago I placed 1 stent on my artery coronary left ( LAD) occluded 100% . Around half of year I didn’t know what to do but medications I stopped after one week. 15 months ago I discovered dr Esselstyn , and I started plants based diet until today. If I knew him before I could avoid the stent God bless you and all your family
Caldwell B Esselstyn and T Colin Campbell helped to transform my health with their incredible knowledge and devotion to improve the health of many through a WFPB diet , I have never been so healthy and slim ... thank you 💪
Never get bored listening to this very passionate man . He takes all the patience to answer & repeat what he had said many times over pertaining to heart diseases from the floor , and never once showed impatience . That’s is what a real caring doctor should be . I totally agree with his firm and wise explanation on nuts . I was hooked on nuts ( peanuts cashews macadamia pine almonds etc and was stocking almost 365 days !) it is highly addicted as Dr easy explained . My weight and other health issues went from bad to worse . After following his advice , my cholesterol , BP , sugar level and weight came down tremendously. Never felt so good before . Xie Xie Dr Esseltyn, Ann , Jane & Rip for the great work . James

Will be 63 this year and never been healthier ,, strength training and a plant based diet,, so sad to see so many of my colleagues suffering with chronic disease..
Thanks for the great info. Your family contributes so much to help people! I wish there was a way to get restraunts to offer "Essy Entrees " on their menu maybe your family could address restraunt associations or conferences seminars they have to encourage offering Essy's reversal foods. Unfortunately those of us that eat this way are a drop in the ocean of unhealthy eaters. It just makes traveling etc.... SO HARD not to mention social get togethers at restraunts becomes unpleasant. Well maybe someday!
Dr. Esselstyn is a national treasure thanks to his ground-breaking research on reversing coronary artery disease! I feel fortunate and grateful that thanks in part to Essy, I think will be around longer for my family after I switched to a low fat whole food plant based diet. Many thanks and kudos to Essy, Rip, and family for their wonderful work and spirit!

Thank you so much, Dr. Esselstyn and Rip. Dr. E, I was so impressed with your presentation in the T. Colin Campbell eCornell course that although my family does not have heart disease, I changed my already-WFPB habits to include less fat.
I have listened to this on my podcast app twice so far, I hung on your father’s every work and will no doubt listen again many times, thank you for your most valuable resources!

Richard Arvin Overton knew more than this guy and he had a sense of humor, yes that is a part of health too. What did Dr. Leila Denmark say the best protein to consume is from?
When he was an athlete he was eating the opposite diet that he is now, that is why he won, now he is not competing so he is eating a diet that is different.
@@karena.627 She said if you are not allergic to dairy but you like it you can have a little here and there but not too much. She said the best protein is from eggs, lean meat and black eyed peas. She treated over 250,000 kids with a faultless track record and has 15 awards and honors to back up that claim which is more than all male youtube doctors put together combined, not to mention she started out as a scientist and helped invent the Pertussis vaccine and lived in good health to age 114. You are so blessed to have the dad that you do Rip! Any interview with your father is always a gold standard for listeners to transform their health. Although I am not a famous person, I would love to share my story with you and your team sometime on how I stumbled into a 10 year old video of your father discussing the reversal of heart disease and how it transformed my health five years ago. It has led me to start my own practice with my family in aiding others in adopting whole food plant-based nutrition along with other lifestyle changes. Thanks for all that you do my PLANTSTRONG brother!
Gentlemen: It is a Great HONOR to have been given the opportunity to study both of your various works in the Health and Longevity arena. You will both be remembered by History by the huge number of lives that you have positively impacted with the knowledge being espoused. Both of your efforts are inspiring and most impressive. Thank You for sharing the lifetime of practical information (Life & Death) that has been disseminated in your various books. Have a Great summer. Greetings from Ontario, Canada.
Thank you for sharing this. Yesterday I had to have my heart put back into rhythm for the second time from Afib. Ablation is definitely soon. I've seen a lot of benefits already for this lifestyle. All my body markers are vastly improved. I've become a big fan of getting my kale in everyday with balsamic vinegar as snacks to increase nitric oxide to work on my endothelial fortress. Enjoy the interview and continuing to share knowledge to help us.
I’m getting ready for my first cardioversion this next week. This Afib is very annoying. I’ve been working on eating Plant strong for 6 months. I’m hoping this procedure will do the trick.
Rip and Dr. Esselstyn, I heard my question asked and answered. Thank you very much! Since I sent it in, I am taking the medication as prescribed and your answer was great confirmation for me. I had heard many plant based doctors express doubts about a lot of medications and it made me skeptical of many of them. I will keep eating WFPBNO and taking these pills- with the hope that things improve one day so I can reduce them. Thanks again and Happy Father’s Day to you both.
How are you now...?? How did you eat as a young man??? I'm a 16 year old who likes to eat junk food but you know it adds up over the years... O gosh..i just wanna be healthy.. I'm doing better these days..
@@scienceislove2014 - I am feeling better now but taking more medication than I want. That is the “recommended procedure” for congestive heart failure. As far as your question, I ate a normal meat and potatoes diet as a young man but was very active and lean. As I got older I got more involved with working and got away from exercise (due to time); then my diet got worse and I was exposed to richer foods with a lot of fat, cheese and dairy. It tasted great but was killing me on the inside. If I had known then what I know now who knows where I’d be? Thank you for asking. That was very kind of you. Eat healthy WFPBNO as you grow up and find a way to keep exercising. Working long hours doesn’t make up for having your health.

That really sounds bad.. and i think things added up as you grew older but thanks I'll be making sure that i eat no bad sugar , meat (ofcourse i won't cuz i love animals..) , fried food.. and excercise.. cuz eating anything fried or junk gives me acne and pimples.. but i love junkies.. i also have gerd which worsens when i eat a fried high fat food.. protein works for me with good carbs in moderation.. I pretty much have a sedentary lifestyle cuz of what I do.. i either watch TH-cam or study (I'm a premed) .. my legs have gotten weaker lately ..i feel heavy (I'm 6'2" girl ) and lethargic.. I don't understand like how i start doing workout.. cuz it makes me tired.. I'm probably going to have to follow "pain short term , gain long term" thingy cuz as i get stronger ,things will be easier on my body.. Great interview! Love it! I got mildly worried after hearing distance running can be associated with afib because I am a 62 year old gal who loves running. I run everyday usually 3-7 miles, except when I am training for a half marathon ( which I do 2x a year.) Then I get up to 8-13 miles a couple times a week. I’m slow and my heart rate stays in the low zones. Hope I’m not hurting my heart because this is a fun sport.

I just heard your question
Keep going. Sometimes the journey takes longer than we hope, but just keep marching toward your goals. You've got this!
@@returntoyehovahthelord6185 normal meat and potatoes diet..
God bless you.. it's healthy and cruelty free.. what more can I ask for..
Btw.. don't forget to take your b12 and d3 (even carnivores need d3 ... Atleast sv3ringe does...)
Thank you Rip and Essey! Happy Father's Day. WFPB - no oil! Keepin it PLANTSTRONG 💯.
Thank you for all your incredible wisdom! I just sent this interview to my Nurse practitioner to help educate her as well. Thank you!,
Thank you both and everyone behind the scenes for putting this together and sharing. Awesome conversation and information as always. Happy Father’s Day to you both and to all dad’s and grandpa’s listening or watching as well. 💚🌱🇨🇦
I may be suffering from information overload..... I really need to find out what an Endothelial fortress is.... I think I need one.
As I'm going to experience my first Father's day without my dad (lost him in January after stroke in November).... That handshake and affection at the end really got me.... I really miss my Pop... I'm happy you guys are still going strong, and helping the rest of us get healthy so we can enjoy our loved ones longer. Have a wonderful and Blessed father's day.🙏🙌🙏

Great interview !!! You even answered a question I was wondering...Thank you!
Absolutely love this episode! You guys are amazing
You are saving my life one forkful at a time! Thank you. 😍
You are so welcome!
I’m learning So much! Thank you both!
Our pleasure!
Your dad looks great. Thanks for sharing this.
