Well, that didn’t take long.
Deadlock has been officially out for less than two weeks, but it seems that’s more than enough time for cheaters to sink their teeth into it. We’re seeing aimbots, wallhacks - all the usual suspects that have plagued Counter Strike for years now - as well as some interesting new additions.

@@jlcrellin1258Um, Valorant had cheaters way faster. I haven't heard of any pre-NDA cheaters for Deadlock which means it was cheater-free for months. Valorant had cheaters on the first day of the closed beta. *The first day.*

I honestly feel bad for cheaters. The game comes out, everyone is enjoying themselves. But they, unfortunately, have to wait for their cheats to drop.

Cheaters will always be a thing unless the industry comes together and puts their foot down. It's actually draining at this point dealing with the shit heads that do it. If you're one of them just go play Minecraft you can play on peaceful and use cheats all you want.

And water is wet, you will struggle to find any online game without cheaters. Doesn’t matter if it’s a alpha, beta or the full release, you will get cheaters pop up regardless
To be fair Valve devs said the Anticheat is not really implemented yet

@@fabr1cated ai training takes a very long time and a lot of data, they havent fully implemented vacnet in cs yet and recently they released a new iteration, stay positive

Valve has been selling cheats 3rd party for 25 years, that's how they make 95% of their money

I have hit 85 hours in deadlock over the last 3 weeks and have only run across 2 people who were sus, and even then when watching it back they were just good. Or toggled their aim bot here and there. So far it hasnt been bad from what I have seen.
It's one of those things where it's not an issue until it is. We ran into our first big cheating lobby only yesterday after playing since before you could stream, but that game was EGREGIOUS. It's infuriating to play against players with absolutely no game sense and lose anyway.

Correction, deadlock hasnt been put 2 weeks, and it is still in closed alpha. The people that have the game can just stream it now

I hope Valve hires people specifically for making a new anti-cheat. A launch toggle down the road for offline/custom games (if there will be) would be awesome and nice for big offline tournaments.
They figured they'd perfected FPS anti-cheat in CS and decided why not make another FPS.

@@zombizombithe game is very different then any shooter. This game is a MOBA first before a shooter. If you played any mobas and played deadlock you would understand this very easily. Objectives, farming map, split pushing, team abilities and positioning. All these components are more important than the shooting/aiming aspect. Aiming is mostly early game and later game its your basic attack and aiming some abilities which are still not as important as the fundamentals i laid out.

So what point are you trying t make here... Frankly I'm kinda wondering why you're so intent on playing down cheating... A good early snowballs to mid and mid to late.. Automatic dodges. And other reactions lead to people missing their ultimatea and that wins team fights... Automatic shooting of orbs makes you impossible to deny and also impossible for the enemy to secure... This games future will depend on how bad it's anti cheat is

Off topic to the cheaters, Deadlock allows you to report leavers? Why isn’t this in CS2?
just played vs a kid using aimbot. never missed any shots. was too fast on tagging denies. and after about 5 minutes realized they were aimbotting. and you can't report the enemy team. not that valve would do anything about it. because they dont even ban the cheaters in counterstrike. instead they ban people for saying fucked up shit in chat/voice.... valve doesn't have their priorities straight. that same character didn't buy any laning items but somehow always hit like a ton of bricks. legit waited for all 3000/6000 items.... that makes no sense. the whole beginning game is buying the cheapest stuff to lane better. but somehow, they didn't need ANY of that. also the character was healing when they didn't have any healing abilities or items in their inventory. which didn't make sense.... the one healing item i know of, if you get hit, the healing is cancelled. so even IF they had that item (i checked, they didn't) their healing should have stopped once i tagged them once. cheating is sad.
This should only be used as a notice to how willing are cheat developers to make some money and that seems to be much stronger power in this battle
My main issue is that the cheaters are usually way worse than an average player. They have to resort to getting tremendous amounts of unfair advantage just to have a chance to compensate for their mental/physical disability.
Instead of learning game mechanics and having fun playing the game the intended way, they choose to ruin in for 11 other people just for the sake of feeling better about themselves. Very sad and hopeless group of human waste I must say.
They need to ban valve accounts entirely if found cheating.

Just because you don't notice intense cheaters doesn't mean there aren't any. Many people get cheats and use it as subtle as possible. Look up soft aim.

I was really enjoying this game a lot. I dont even understand why there is always cheaters. Broken mind by cheaters?, want high rank easily, want to feel guilty?, or just wanna f*ck someone that is having a good time. This is just really frustrating.
game is still in alpha...give them time and see what happens. Since it is still a moba after all there are at least some ways to win against cheater, although it might not be fun but there is

I never and ain't gonna spend a dime for a cheat but if you want to push these company to do something about it.... release a free cheat that everyone can use so they'll be forced to do something about it.

I actually haven't ran into any yet....most of it's honestly been me not knowing what I'm doing or how to build correctly.
Tbh, changing colors is probably the most tame thing ever (as some1 who is partially colorblind i actually c appeal in something like changing colors and thats it), its actually quite depressing that it already has cheats ive been enjoying the game greatly
We did run into a few cheaters with my mates, and that was our limit, stopped after this. The very last game was a blatant wallhacker. But, hey, it's Valve, they never implement an anticheat, their biggest game - CS - is a sandbox for cheaters.

yeah i mean after you get the tenth cs on your lane denied after approximately 2 nanoseconds of it spawning and getting harassed with a 100% accuracy while being at the opposite end of your lane, barely even seeing your opponent, you might think that there is some aimbotting going on

Like how hard can it be to have algorithm that detects suspicious good headshot percent or if someone moves large distances in too short of a time, and then mark those matches for manual review.
Deadlock did have cheaters many months ago. Just search youtube and you can find someone cheating in video befone it was even allowed to post anything about it in youtube

I have been pc gaming ever since Unreal Tournament, cs 1.6, etc, I used to think I was pretty good, maybe I'm just getting old (32 now) but I think another issue is hacks are more widely available. The main problem with games like this are the people that only use wallhacks to gain a knowledge advantage. Good luck proving somebody only has wallhacks, especially if they have a brain.
i love valve, steam and most of their games, but they need to do something that isnt a shooter and isnt trying to be a copy of something else.
Somebody has to playtest those future cheats.
I’m like 50+ matches in and the other day I got 2 games in a row with a cheater, both playing Wraith. Pretty sure they got banned though because I actually made a report and looking at their Steam account they haven’t played anymore Deadlock recently lol.

For those who are wondering why DOTA 2 don't have cheat. That's because all action is done on server side, but you can't do this in FPS games, otherwise you will have delay when you shoot or move, based on your ping
