I really like Shadowland DD with Convocation. He’s a tank and can take a beating in the middle, then he goes almost full mystic on the damaged side. And grunts…
I know I’m incredibly late on this one, but I was building a roster for this affiliation and I don’t have access to grunts (aka elektra) to renew my books. So I was looking for an alternative way to boost my defenses for those turns where I won’t have it, and I picked Darkstar. For 3 power, she lets allied characters within range 3 add 2 dice to their roll when defending against physical or energy attacks. She only gets one power per attack on her builder, but it is range 4 so you can just sit back and shoot pot shots while you build power to keep the more important people properly defended.
What is your guy's opinion on swapping Elektra for the new red skull? I dont have elektra, but i started collecting hydra and his grunts kill themselves as well.
Cool lists, enjoyed this as a Convocation player! Although I think not having Wong is a mistake. I know he seems unexciting, but he does a lot for convocation, both in attrition and extract. He gives far more flex in squad construction, heals/ removes conditions when our extract runners get back to "base" and he can sit on a back point paying for Iron bound books, rather than making Mordo ante up. He can also toss out wand of watoomb too if you're running it. Toad really doesn't help with any of that. In a vacuum toad is the better 2, but in convocation I dont even think its close, Wong is the daddy!
Thats the lovely thing about this game - the number of different ways you can run affiliations. I honestly dont mind Wong in Convo, but I really think Toad is overall better (that doesnt mean either of us is wrong by the way)
@@RichMidGaming Agreed and calling it a "mistake" not to have Wong was hyperbole on my part as Wong really does deserve a bit of love! It was more to just point out how strong he is in Convocation, as he is generally considered the least interesting/ viable 2 threat in the game, but in Convo he really does shine.
Well, I'm not sure I can bring myself to use Electra for that cheesy highjinks, and your distain for wong/clea isn't something I entirely agree with... clea might be benched for me, but wong is a staple. But it's odd. You posted this today as I was playing my first tts mcp game tonight. 😄 It's not quite how I built mine for the event game tonight 😅. Had supreme, voodo, mordo, magik, ancient one, clea, wong, x23, honeybadger, and rogue. At 19, I ran supreme, voodoo, magik, wong, x23, and hb. The game went to turn six, with almost everyone bodied on both sides. Honestly, wong did solid work holding the back point, healing, and he actually killed - KO'D the Juggernaut with his only attack of the game 🤣 so I refute your disrespect for him! But voodoo and x-23 were the mvps, dear lord they kill with glee. But anyhow, it's a great video and gives me a few ideas I might tinker with in my current convocation crew. Thanks, and now I must sleep 😴
I imagine this has been answered, but I can’t find it. Can leaders use their own abilities when it says “when an allied character…” like Dr Strange Mystic Empowerment?
You mention that you give up a tactics card slot for the leadership card. I thought this card was in addition to your normal allotment of 10 tactics cards, essentially making this card not count against your allotment as the wording says "you may add this card to your squad in addition to your normal allotment of Team Tactic cards." Have I been playing this wrong all along?
No, unfortunately it is part of your 10, but its a free pick in your squad. So you have 10 tactics cards in your roster but select 6 for your squad, the sixth being Bar with no doors.
Hey Rich_Mid, thanks for the video! Question though: are you sure that "Eye on the Price" move is working? I can't seem to get it done on Table Top Simulator, even in the most direct line, I'm at least half an inch short.
@@QuinnDuggan Well yes, since Strange is not a large base, with a medium base you cannot pick up the first herb without moving, so you move to the close herb at range 1 as close to a direct line to the second herb. now a medium move and a 2" Eye of the price will not get you a wide hammer I believe.
@@QuinnDuggan Well look at that, I stand corrected! I tried to use it on the wide hammer, works like a charm on the first hammer! Apologies! Thanks for the follow-up!

great timing here, literally just got into the game and convocation is what i’m currently buying into haha

I agree with this statement :-) Wong for me comes before Toad in Convocation
Good to see you back on the MCP Rich.
Cheers Ross - nice to take a little break but back and loving it!!
Great video it's actually got me thinking about trying them out. I will have to give Marcus a game and see

Yeah, I don’t think there is any example yet where a leader cannot benefit from their own leadership
Any changes to the general strategy or character/card picks from experience in the last 9 months?
@Rich_mid Gaming will there be a midnights sons guide?
There absolutely will. We just took a break doing these as they take quite a lot of time. We’ll be back with more though!
Thank you very much! Great job!

Alas friend, yes, you’ve been playing it wrong. Counts as your 10 but not as your 5
@@RichMidGaming Gotcha, that's been my misunderstanding, not part of the 5, but part of the 10. Thanks for clearing that up!
Is there any chance you could drop a list of the tactics you choose in the comments? I'm having a hard time making them out.
I love playing with Convocation but I never win with them 😂
I always seem to start off well then get wiped out.
Oooo first time being first and it’s on my team!
Gz friend!
