When talking about ASM we stated you could get a power back from Witty Banter if it was a Crit - this is not the case as its YOU rolling the dice, not ASM - apologies for any confusion
His spender also came down in cost by 1 power. On an all webbed up turn his spike potential is insane.
Sin missed out, would be my first thought. Would have also liked Omrga Red and Sentinels getting a look at...
Going by this lot they seem to be focusing on characters that have upcoming team releases
I think they are also avoiding teams with limited members. Winter Guard and Sentinels had nobody changed. So I think they want more characters for the affiliation before they change them.
I think Jean is easily a c threat. Being able to sling terrain round 1 or her spender round 2 can be huge. Thats a 9 dice attack that will throw size 4 with an aoe splash. Plus when she stops pulls/etc she doesn't feel stunned being out of power.
For me, Gambit still needs some love. Not a lot, some stealth for theme (master thief) and because it would help his squishiness, and he needs the cost reduction on his dice booster.
I also would have liked Colossus to get size 4 on his terrain through mostly for theme reasons (100 ton levels).
One small change that I don’t think I heard mention here. Forgive me if I missed it. But Punisher is now affiliated in Defenders.

At least he is affiliated now. I couldn't rationalize taking out someone else for him when he wasn't.

I think the biggest news by far is not the hits or misses - it's that AMG has committed to actually doing this. Like does it matter now if they didn't get to your favorite character (Sin, Viper, etc.)? No. They will.
Also would bet you $500, no joke, that they have a "Jean Grey, the Phoenix" model working its way through some stage of design. That's why Jean didn't get many changes.
So glad Thor finally got the buffs he deserves. He used to be so hit-or-miss, but now he's definitely A+.
He needed more def tech. Should have gotten dam reduction but I am fine with his enhancements, especially since we have a new T6 to look forward to as well

Really excited to be able to play Cyclops - I'm just getting into this game, love the X-Men and love Cyclops, so hearing that he's going to be playable and good is exciting
I think a character who missed getting a buff in this round was Hulk…
Buster obviously. You guys mentioned him in an earlier video about characters that you though needed a buff but I think it’s cool to see many of the characters you mentioned then showed up here. Well done guys always enjoy your videos.

as someone hat has been playing inhumans since pre-ron's big weekender win, i am very very ghappy about the black bolt change however i am a little sad about his focus power not letting him ad dice anymore. i doubt anyone expected him to become a bodyguard but from my limited testing its pretty good,
Sentinels need another release to have a chance to be relevant. I'm thinking Nimrod and Bolivar Trask myself.
Wolverine in sentinels with Under your skin and Cassandra's efficient machines is fun as feck, flying wolvy with 2x dmg on wilds and shields to wild. :D
I think Gambit could have used a bit of a touch up. However given all the X-men goodness we did get, I'm not mad about it.
Storm also got her superpower of adding dice reduced from 3 to 2 cost, so she's better. I think her leadership is still just fine. First Class is still a thing.
Finally, I think Bill's Immeasurable Strength now takes the prize of stupidest power name.

I don't understand the Cable hate. Medium base, always has power to Bodyslide and he gets two rerolls on his builder so long as he's within range 3 which will absolutely increase his damage output and therefore his power generation which means he can throw more terrain and use his TK Shield more. He has an extra stamina, his spender is 1 cheaper paired with the increased power generation and since he wants to be at range 3 anyway he'll be close enough to get in and actually use his spender to deal some damage and heal some wounds.
I'd have thought yall would have placed him at least in B tier.
Its not hate, you just have to compare him to other leaders/5 threat characters. And when you do that, he is under par at the moment. Definitely better than he was but the leadership is still lacklustre and overall is just below other 5 threats

He got a stamina on an errata a little while back...but yeah, he is in need of some love!
I think Warmachine and Quicksilver needs a tune up. Quicksilver's effects are a little too difficult to trigger on 4 dice and Warmachine is just bad.
Good breakdown on everything. As far as the question goes I would have liked to have seen an update on Hulkbuster. I absolutely love the model and would love a good reason to pull it out more.

Definitely Hawkeye. I think he has the record for least words on a character card, definitely needs some rework for being a core Avenger.
I was really caught off guard with this ministrav , didn’t expect all these character changes but I’m so excited to try them out! I do wish OG doctor strange had gotten some love ! Great video ! Loved your guys explanation of the curve and how not every character needs to be S teir to be useable

Thanks guys and well done as normal. I would have liked to see some love with Ursa major and Darkstar but perhaps next time. With a 4 member affiliation i feel they needed some love and or some new options.
I think that Carnage needed some love as he seems a bit meh for such an icon.
Viper and Sin could have done with some love but on the whole it looks like they have carefully considered their decisions and have made some much needed improvements ❤
Aside from previously untouched core set 1 chars, the character I play and wish received a buff the most is Kraven, I feel like he's just missing something when he doesn't start in range 2 of an enemy. Tho red skull 1 and maybe sin also just so non-mal cabal feels better, esp w this nerf.
I love the content and I've watched many of your guys's videos but I feel like I'm missing something here. I don't play a lot at my local game store because I work nights but where do you find all this updated information? All these new character cards?

My Wong has always WAY out lived his stats. Like she-hulk putting her whole turn into Wong and still standing.
Omega Red could do with some of the medium move treatment!
i love daredevil and super happy they "fixed" him ! it will be interesting to see if Wolverine becomes an issue like some are saying he will.
Black bolt in og Steve's Avengers getting bodyguard and additional defense dice for 2 energy is nasty
unfortunately I think the bodyguard has to come first, which means it the first superpower used, meaning you wouldn't get a reduction on his extra dice superpower
Green Goblin could have been helped I think. Some turns go by where he just does nothing. Spending 1 power to pop a condition after an attack has resolved and taken the conditions off his builder. Spender needs to be range 4.

As a big fan of Midnight Sons, Blade needed more to be viable. I like the advance on the glaives , but I think giving him Stealth would've been better. Come on AMG, he's a vampire, they live in shadows. Also maybe Magik could've been touched up and made a Midnight Son.
I think it was more so a space thing on his card was more the issue. I think he's a decent B tier now.
I think Sin just need a bit of a tweak as find her fun
Clea hands down deserved a tweak. Even though she can kinda kill herself to give back the Convocation card for some weak synergy, IT CAN STILL KILL HERSELF, and you dont benefit from it for priority. She has an ability that could be a little bit better than Wong gaining power without the significant downside. If they made it where skulls generate extra power for her that could remedy a little bit, but I think she would only be an option if I need to fill a very specific threat, and even then at 3 threat Taskmaster and Bucky exist.
Would of liked to see carnage get a defense buff in some way and sentinel prime to get a look at.
You could just give him the symbiote power that the Venom's have and prevent dice modification. That alone would increase the chances of him just full healing against a target

I wish Ursa Major got a glow up. I am a big fan of Winter Guard and he is one of the most lackluster 4 Threats around, especially in comparison to the likes of Bill. He is more in line with Lizard, and I feel he is missing a little more defensiveness, or a reroll. In a faction with 4 members, each has to be worth fielding, and I would love a little synergy with the Dynamo's Leadership.
Guess I am stuck with Dynamo, Guardian and Taskmaster as my core 3....

Who needs some help: OG Spiderman, Sin and Viper.
I think all OG spidey is missing is a trigger on his builder. Without it, I don't see a reason to use it over impact webbing.
I think they should have given something to Dormamu, i would have gone with some sort of power gen on one or more of his attacks, even just a gainer and maybe an extra point or two of health.
He has a very good win rate at the moment (almost 50% since the new crisis cards were released), so I think he is just fine - he could do with a couple of better tactics cards IMHO
To counter all the X-men madness, I would have loved to see some improvements in Sentinels. Also, Sin and Viper, and of course our favourite drunk bear from Winter Guard!

I had this theory that these have been in the works for awhile but was pushed back because of the new Core Box (Hence now these come up with the new card format)
This is why the newest model on this list is Malekith (If I am not mistaken) so mostly touch ups to older models and they are still waiting on the newer ones be it because they think nerfing them would effect the sales or just that they want more time before they touch newer characters.
I think big missed opportunity was Sentinels. Prime is fine but the Mk4 need something really badly.
I think you nailed it about erratas hurting sales. I would have not bought voodoo with his new card🤬
Core box Crossbones and Ultron. Would be great to see all the core box characters on the table every once in a while
When it comes to Storm you guys are freaking high. She has Friday AI. She’s shooting people for six dice at range four. She’s doing six dice beams. She does an eight dice AOE. She does damage that a lot of four threats would be envious of.
Your assuming she has no issue with power generation.
@@joshuaarseneault1191 In Scott’s new leadership, nobody in X-Men has a problem with power generation.
Dormammu, Sin, Viper, some of the original core set characters (Parker and OG Red Skull especially comes to mind), Ant Man, Wasp, Bob, Carnage, possibly Omega Red, Punisher, OG Sabretooth, and Ursa Major all come to my mind as characters that still need a tweak upwards. Agree with most of your points - the two things I’d say are I think Daredevil should have had more to help Defenders out, and that to me the obvious Thanos-fix is just make him have to be your leader, like Dormammu.
Black Dwarf, Super Giant, Viper, Sentinel MK4s, Ursa Major, Darkstar, Clea, Hulkbuster and even Dormamu probably needed some work done on them to make them better.
Ursa Major missed out. I love winter guard and I want to run the bear but he’s just too slow and power hungry for my taste.
Great overall analysis! I think Viper could use a little glow up to make her viable.
AMG did a great job overall. Really happy with these changes. They make the game better.
However, I do think they missed a few characters: Dormammu, Sentinels, and She-Hulk. For the most part they're all *fine*. And I think the only need a minor buff to be better.
* Dormammu could use an offensive buff of some sort - or count skulls on defense
* Sentinels could reduce damage by 1
* She-Hulk probably just needs 4 physical defense so she's actually good at body-guarding
Ancient One is my pick for needing an upgrade. She’s a 4 Threat, but very weak against physical attacks (despite rerolls and blanks up close), and yet she’s designed to want to pull enemies close, where most physical attacks happen. Her spender, Astral Strike, is nice, but at four power isn’t particularly frugal, and she doesn’t do much else particularly well. I think she should be a 3 Threat, or significantly buffed to withstand physical attacks. I’d also consider giving her Shards of the Seraphim range 3 instead of 2. Anyway, my two cents. Thanks for what you guys do!

I'm a bit bummed that Sin/Viper/Crossbones continue to be relegated to the dustbin of history but maybe next time? Hopefully sooner than later. Great tier list, I've missed these!
I think there's obvious waves. This time they did a pass on X-Men and leaders. Leaders are by far the most important - a bad character is a bad character, a bad leader can sink an affiliation. Although confused She Hulk isn't on this list.
Better than that, the news is we're going to be doing this once a year, and that's hella good news for the health of the game. Nothing is worse than older players looking at their models and going "I guess I have to buy the new hotness to remain competitive... or I can just not play the game." Now what they have is good, even if it's not "tip of A tier" it's at least not a friggin joke (like OG Wolverine, Colossus, Daredevil, etc.)

I’m super excited about the new Wolverine, Cyclops, and Colossus! I’ve been a fan of all three stat cards before the buff, and now they are MORE than viable!!! Perhaps even staples!!!

Thor!!! Finally. Though Im a but disappointed that he has no real def tech, his boost will help. He really needed something like Damage Rediction or a reroll for help there, but the slight biost in mystic dice, added healthy side stam, and some very needed immunities, helps him be a viable 5. He is still swingy on dice and VERY reliant on terrain, which is an issue with organized events going bare minimum and ridiculous placements more often than not. Throws are nice, but if nothing is near of any size to warrant the cost, its a waste. God of Thunder improved with reduced cost, but still meh. No shock, not extra effect. Even Storm's has for same power several added items that auto damage flyers for example. A major update overall. And we have a proper T6 Thor to look forward to!!!
Absolutely Carnage and Venom both could use a bit of help! I know with new Doc Ock helps them but then they lose the damage throughput leadership of goblin. So I would like to give them a bit of love.
Great video Rich. So glad to see Thor getting the boost he deserves, would have like a damage reduction on his card too but still happy with him over all. I think Carnage missed out on a tweak, those double 1's really hurt his survivability.
I was gutted to see that punisher didn't get rogue agent however him being put into defenders felt OK...? Idk possibly giving warmachine something else super power wise. His card is pretty bland.
I would have rathered rogue agent too!
Dormamu, Sin, Viper, Ursus Major, Carnage & others crying, but glad these heroes got their due, especially Black Bolt, Cable, & Cyclops. Been a long time coming.
rich, i hate to break it to you, but asm under miles in ww was fairly common due to his survivability and objective play. that said, this certainly helps matters.
Also, fun thing i enjoy with hela is having her with modok and a grunt user, as i will deflect the attack to the grunt, who will likely die and give me a soul token
I'm so happy about Black Bolt. My favorite team to play. Vision and Crimson Dynamo with Lockjaw in the mix is just awesome. I call my list the Beamtown Bullies
The Colossus Big Brother change is actually a big nerf, its much easier to be within range 2 of your allies when they are being attacked than it is to be within range 2 of an enemy before they attack.
True, but it was all fixed by medium move, and not being able to be pushed (he's literally the image on Indominable) is icing on a very tasty cake. You can now move Colossus up, sit him on a point, and he's not going to be dislodged by some stray pulse blast. And since he now moves Medium he can actually get on a point.
Nothing was worse than old Colossus getting pushed and having to take two move actions to get back to the point just to get pushed off again. Professor X had more mobility without his wheelchair.
Hard disagree. Colossus needed to be within r2 in order to use any of his attacks. If he's trying to stay next to the ranged characters, then he's pretty easy to ignore and would be too power-starved to reliably force opponents to attack him.
@@xombified9He is a huge net positive. His big attack is now r3. Reverse bodyguard is a minor downgrade when compared to how much he has gained
Glad to hear Thor got a nice buff. Need to play Asgardians more often. Sorry to hear that you think Deadpool and Cable still are not where they need to be. Deadpool should be a fun somewhat unpredictable character to play and that seems to be missing.
I'm confused as to why cables leadership isn't better than shadowlands daredevil, daredevils requires the enemy to have or contesting an objective, cables doesn't, plus cables adds the bonus of no cover
As always ‘better’ is subjective. Whilst Cables leadership can be used at any point, SDD’s can be used multiple times. Generally (not always), you are targeting character with attacks who are either contesting or holding an objective, meaning you will often be able to use SDD’s leadership.
Again, it’s personal preference but SDD’s edges it for me - and it’s on a 4 threat rather than a 5 threat character, so the opportunity cost is less.
I think Carnage and Dormammu could have used a defensive buff or 2. Maybe even a threat downgrade for Dormammu. Great video as always guys!
what does Splash mean?
Also crossing my fingers Hulkbuster eventually gets some love. He feels so underwhelming for a 6 and once you daze him he's pretty much out of the fight.
Hey! So ‘Splash’ is a term used to describe a character that’s not in your affiliation, but you bring them anyway.
So you can ‘splash’ Cosmic Ghost Rider into an Inhumans team for example.
Great video. Deadpool is a miss but the big change is to Elektra, Jean Grey, Colossus and Black Bolt
I would say Cyclops got a big win this go around too. If you see him brought to a table you're not going to laugh in the face of the person who decided to run him anymore (leadership is good now and he got buffed just enough that I can see him being used outside of his leadership)

I think the vast majority of the characters in game I view as "They have a place", but even though I don't play them, sentinels could have really used something. Venom also could use some love. I just have a really hard time getting him into lists lately.
I don't think the Character Cards are in the "2023 Crisis Pack". The description on the box only refers to crisis cards and tokens

They should retool MoonKnight. I dont love the randomness for personalities. Thats not how the character functions in a fight. I hate that. He should have 3 forms or special tactic cards. Or soemthing. Not this "idk what he'll be able to do this turn."
Really wish Mister Sinister, Sentinels, and Omega Red got some love. It would fit with the new wave of X-Men coming up

I myself am not sure, I started checking this game out after getting into warhammer 40k. Just wanted to learn some more with watching videos, do have to say I was disappointed that blade wasn’t in B tier I was looking forward to playing him. I still plan to play him just not as excited, little more worried lol.
Had also learned from this that Deadpool wasn’t as good as I had hoped, I had seen gameplay of him and thought that he didn’t fit what I thought Deadpool would be glad to see I’m not the only person who feels this way. Is there any group that either of you would recommend as a starter team? Was really wanting to do a midnight sons since I’m a fan of the game, but also I don’t know who all is apart of that group. Any suggestions to check out would be greatly appreciated.
My first recommendation would be to play the characters you like, if you ain’t having fun, what’s the point!
Secondly, I wouldn’t worry about what me, or any other Content Creator says, a good player will make things work - get your reps in and who knows, you may even discover something others haven’t!
I would liked to have seen Crystal get a bit of a Glow-up.. IMHO she doesnt feel like the Crystal that i remember reading about.. and i think its just a few little things, if not one.. but lets see if AMG can figger' that one out..
I'm also sad that Omega Red didnt get any Glow-Up love.. i play him, I like him, but i think for what he does he is a little overpriced.
But thats my opinion, and u know what they say about those..

Hulkbuster missed out rather hard, not only does he really struggle to compete with any other 6 cost but he is also has to against 2 other starks who are both great
I’m think old school doc oct missed the boat. I know that he’s getting new rules but that’s a different character right? One of my fav from comics just underwhelming
I honestly think Sentinel Prime and the other Sentinels missed out, not so much on the cards themselves but on the leadership, the affiliation itself needed a bit of a boost to encourage running them as a faction.
Punisher missed out so hard! He really needs more.
What he has is great and flavorfull, but 1 more minor superpower would be greatly appreciated.

Mr sinister is Mia with this update and shouldn’t have been. I also think nebula and groot need a little bump. Groot isn’t nearly as affective in his role as he use to be with amount of damage being put out.
I definitely would like to have seen some changes to OG Skull but overall I think the changes are good for the game.
Half the OG core box needs a pass. OG Spiderman, Crossbones, Ultron, etc. I think they're in a bizarre limbo where AMG wants to forget they exist. Would be nice if they just ruled that you could use OG models as proxies for NG models. That sets a really weird precedent though, and OG Widow and Cap are still going to see play, so it's a weird spot.
Love the Wolverine glow up, but what about OG Sabretooth?😢
Daredevil’s rework gave me life
Don’t want to burst anyone’s bubble but the changes to Storms leadership actually doesn’t change any of X-men’s first turn shenanigans. If you don’t play Xmen, it’s not as easy to see so I understand. Angela powers up 2, pay for hop, move, pay for objective, move back. Jean can play Eyes, Xmen hop, and grab an opposing F extract, move back. Beast or Colossus can move on To Me My Xmen, play Eyes, grab an opposing F extract and move back. Sorry guys, Storm is still the primary Xmen lead, Scott will be the backup sometimes or his own archetype.
Completely disagree. The play with Angela allowed you to pick up two extracts instead of the one, which was the biggest advantage.
But disagreeing is absolutely fine - everyone has their own play styles and will find what works for them. For me, she just doesn’t cut the mustard now compared to Cyclops, but I gather only time will tell.
@@RichMidGaming Of course. I’m not sure entirely sure what you mean by Angela picking up two extracts since the standard extract crisis was Paranoia, Cubes, Spider Infected. Cubes is the only one there that allows holding more than 1. To my knowledge, the idea was, with prio, grab the center, then can grab one of your opponents extracts with hop and 1 move, then move back. This allowed you to go 4-1 on turn 1 going first or 3-2 going second. I’m not exactly sure what you mean by picking up 2 extracts with Angela on turn 1. The exact same thing was achieved by using Beast with eyes on the prize turn 1 as well. The nerfs did take away that line of play though, in terms of using Beast with eyes.
I'm surprised people aren't saying Clea. Granted, I don't play Clea, but I know people do not play her because she sucks.
That being said, I am particularly surprised that Carnage was left untouched. He is really fun to play, but he gets blown off the table pretty quickly if the opponent has energy or mystic.

At 34:31 in the video, you get done talking about Cyclops leadership ability.. and at the very last sentence you add "once per turn"...
But that's not necessarily true.. go back and read it.. and then tell me if it would play out different.. if I am reading this correctly you pick an "allied character within
Range 5 (oops technical difficulty with the cut off comment and now reply to comment, trying to keep the thread together)...
So, when I read this, I would instinctively look for each character within RNG 5 of an ally, and then give each the appropriate energy.. and because it's not once per turn.. it could "Daisy-Chain" around..
Thereby making this, potentially, one the most potent leaderships in the game..
The Devil's in the Details, and the Details are in the Devil..
Let me know what u think, talk it over with your mates, and Judges/Watchers.. and if you know how, shoot it out to AMG and see if that's what they meant to print.. ok, that's all,

Yeah, we were talking about in the game currently out, not any mutant that has been a defender in the comics
We we're talking about each character can only gain a power once per turn. So you make an attack with Cyclops and give Wolverine one power. You then make a second attack and you can give a power to another character, but not Wolverine as he has already had one this turn
@@RichMidGaming but.. not just Wolverine.. it's like, Wolverine does an attack, and is 5 from Scott and 5 from Colossus.. so don't both Scott and Colossus get power from the attack made by Wolvie via Scott's leadership..?

Storm. Why did they break her. Scott's cool, but most of the normal X-Men are made of glass. They should've left the hop as free, and allowed skill reroll if doing scenario play
