Imagine the power of a simple molecule coursing through your veins, holding the key to longevity, peak performance, and a fortress-like defense against cardiovascular disease. Nobel Laureate Dr. Louis Ignarro returns to unveil the wonders of nitric oxide (NO), a molecule his research helped bring into the health spotlight. With insights into its impact on conditions from diabetes to erectile dysfunction, Dr. Ignarro discusses how NO isn't just a part of our biology-it's a vital protector of it.
This episode isn't just about groundbreaking science; it's a treasure trove of practical advice. We discover the astonishing connection between humming and NO levels and delve into how diet-from the antioxidant-rich Mediterranean diet to the scrutinized carnivore diet-plays a pivotal role in NO production. But it's not all about what you eat; we also cover the effects of nasal breathing techniques and why something as simple as mouth tape could revolutionize the way you sleep.
Lastly, we look to the horizon of medical innovation, where the potential for inhaled nitric oxide therapy shines bright-not just for newborns in distress but for severe COVID-19 cases and beyond. Dr. Ignarro's insights are a testament to the molecule's versatility, with possibilities extending into performance enhancement for athletes and the development of on-demand NO generation devices.

I’ve put my long-term diabetic mum of 82 years of age on a high fat, high protein and very low carb diet. 4 weeks into diet and she is more alert, more active and sleeping less during the day. The goal is to wean her off all prescribed medication; so have reduced it. She walks daily and does deep breathing exercises - we heard nose breathing produces Nitric oxide.

There are 2 pathways in the body. L-arginine-nitric oxide synthase nitric oxide pathway and the Nitrate-nitrite -nitric oxide pathway . Increasing nitrates in diet was shown in at least one study to "greatly enhance" the production of nitric oxide.
I got HumanN Nitrie Oxide saliva testing strips. I tested myself it showed i had no nitrate so i bought a beet powder in capsules Nitric Oxide Max Beet Root with Nitrates. Retested saliva had a good result a few days later.
I'm on warfarin a blood thinners. Vitamin k1 interferes with warfarin. To avoid K1 the beets are a better source of nitrate.

It seems he needs to check out Mary Enig's research on fats. Saturated fats have all the double carbon bonds saturated with hydrogen so there is no place for it to oxidize and create free radicals. The polyunsaturated fats have many (poly) double bonds or unsaturated bonds where oxygen can attach and oxidize the fats and go rancid and create free radicals. That's why you can leave saturated fats like butter at room temperature but polyunsaturated fats will go rancid unless they are artifically saturated or hydrogenated.

it refers to the oxidation process in the body of saturated fats! now what he doesn't know is that the atherogenic LDL circulating in the body for more than 12 days is related to the non-alcoholic steatosis liver caused by the excessive consumption of carbohydrates and insulin resistance! Normally, the atherogenic LDL circulates through the body for about 4-5 days and is subsequently captured by the liver and degraded, if the liver is oversaturated with triglycerides, this process of capturing the atherogenic LDL is delayed and the LDL ends up oxidizing, becoming extremely pro-inflammatory in the body, and if there is damage to the matrix of the vascular wall, due to its extremely small size, it can penetrate the vascular wall, favoring atherosclerosis! Who helps prevent LDL from oxidizing: 1. modulating insulin resistance with a decrease in the consumption of carbohydrates and sugars
      2. coenzyme Q10 (the richest source of CoQ10 is in the heart of animals - especially beef)
      3. there are other factors, but by adjusting the 2 above, the big problem is fixed!

There is an antient Indian breathing practice, called Bhramari that does the trick with increasing NO in the blood stream. Its for free, available to anyone with a nose, and its been known for ages. What to do in short to make it even more efficient by a few times - the point is to hum at 130Hz through one of your nostrils, while the other one is closed. If you have a blockage, choose the worst nostril to breath through. Breath in and hum while you breath out in 1 to 2 timing ratio, i.e. 4 sec breath in, 8 sec breath out, for around 15 min. Recommended to do 1-2 times a day on the nutrition channel I picked it from. I hope Dr.Louis Ignarro could try it as well, as he seemed to be interested in having NO boost =)

The nasal breathing especially in sleep is a total game changer for heathy life.Dont sleep without the tape or the “breathe rights”. In the growing child it is especially vital.
Mouth breathing children don’t have advantages of a constant tongue pressure expanding the maxilla .Then the well meaning but totally incompetent Orthodontists extract teeth from the resultant growth abnormalities. The straight teeth are achieved by locking the poor kids into a lifetime of breathing inefficiency apart from the facial collapse that becomes tragic as maturity arrives (See Dr John Mew)

Meat appears to be the optimal food for humans, but particularly children. Typically, children will instinctively reject the low-nutrition leafy green vegetables, and gravitate towards nutritionally rich fatty meats that help them flourish. The chewing of meat also develops the jaw and teeth and keeps away the tooth-decaying sugars.

I mean I don’t agree with everything he shared but I still appreciate that he had me brainstorming and asking questions like, he said they used to give infants NO when they were blue. Where did these hospitals get the NO and how did they know long before to use NO? And was this a practice in all hospitals but now only a handful of hospitals have access to it? Idk, I’m going to have to rewatch the videotape 🤔😉

I used to be a dental assistant. Nitrius oxide is still commonly used in hospital sistuations as a very safe anesthesia that allows the patient to remain awake.
In our dental office, we had two gas ports in each treatment room. One was nitrous oxide, commonly called "laughing gas" & the other was oxygen. We used them when we extracted teeth or needed to do traumatic procedures such as gum surgery, crown preps, etc.
Using nitrous was the original go-to for dental procedures back in the day. The use of topical then needle injection of numbing agents onto & into the local treatment area is a major step down in the dental sciences. Injecting liquid anesthesia into a tight the local area is not only initually painful, but it also greatly swells the treatment area, not a good thing. Plus, there is a wait time for the injectuon to take effect. Furthermore, needle injections, are harder to regulate. Too little, the patient is in pain, & stresses out, affecting patient trust, compliance & mood throughout a procedure. Too much & the area is engorged & mire difficult to work on, bleeding prevalent, & facial & rear jaw paralysis making for patient discomfort. Sometimes injections start to become less effective during a long procedure, yes, seem to wear off & more lidocaine has to be injected into already comprimised tissue. After the procedure, the problems arent over, as needle injections make for residual swelling & extended numbness for hours after a procedure has been completed. After leaving the office, patients tend to end up biting the sides of their mouth, leading to unnecessary injury, possible infection, & continued discomfort. Patients have trouble speaking for hours. Recovery time varies.
Nitrous gas makes most of the problems of needle injection seem sadistic. Nitrous is fast acting, noninvasive, easily regulated, pleasant for both the dentist, assistant, & patient. Less infammation of the procedure area, less blood loss, patient sensory & muscle control over the area. Yes, the patient may be a little giddy during the procedure & must have someone else druve them home, but they should be able to resume their normal lifestyle sooner, depending on what was done.
It isnt that nitrous is bad medicine, but rather that malpractice insurance rates for dentists using nitrous doubled & tripled despite no real risks if used properly. Actually, nitrous is safer & easier to use than needle injections. Most dentists arent going to triple or quadruple the costs of treatment for the patients doing a procedure necessitating nitriys, nor are most dentists going double of triple the cost of treatment for those not necessitating its use,not fair on all accounts. So most dentists just stopped using nitrous for the relatively small number of patiebts who benefitted frim urs availability.
So to think hospitals wouldnt have accessibility to nitrous is naïve. They has fentanyl, morphine, oxycodone, oxycodine, special K/ketamine, codeine/cocaine, so nitrous is joke in comparison. Nitrous is one of the very safest anaesthesias in medicine.
      Have a great day!

That limits us to observation, minor intervention, and self-reporting. The best evidence, such that it is, points towards sugar, and carbohydrates in general being a problem. Heavily processed foods being a particular problem. Grains being tolerable for some people. Seed oils being damaging to most. Vegetables causing problems for many people. Dairy being a problem for some populations. Alcohol being tolerable in moderation for many. Meat and fish being the optimal food for most. In summary, meat is food, and herbs are medicines.

Actually it's been discovered that NO is the signaling molecule that enables insulin to get glucose into the cell, so that the glucose can be used to make ATP, thereby preventing glucose from accumulating outside the cell, which would cause hyperglycemia. So it's been found that nitric oxide is required for insulin to work, and prevent hyperglycemia. That's why studies have found that people who use mouthwash daily seem to have a significantly increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Mouthwash kills the beneficial bacteria in the mouth, thereby preventing the bacteria from converting nitrates in food to nitrites, and then to nitric oxide.

While this gentleman may be an expert in nitric oxide, I don’t believe he’s un biased about the research on saturated fat. If you look at only epidemiological studies. Well, those are just plain.💩💩
After following a Mediterranean diet and exercising most days of the week, I was loaded with inflammation, and my CRP was over five .
I had lots of small dense LDL and lots of inflammatory markers .
I went strict keto eating 80% saturated fat for seven years the only non-saturated fat I typically ate was avocado .
I have the test results to show every single inflammatory marker went down. My HDL remains typically from 85 to 100. Now I was eating lamb chops most mornings for breakfast, but those are not a lower fat meat. They are actually a higher fat meat. Go cook one and look in your pan afterwards..
I just found out that I was sensitive to all most all grains and pork and lamb. We’re also included in the recommendations to eliminate.
Pork is a low-fat meat, but it is loaded with parasites .
Here’s where the rubber met the road for me and where I lost interest in his research. There has never been a validated study that shows causation with high saturated fat intake.
He’s got it backwards. Saturated fat is the only oil or fat that does not oxidize all of the others do.

Or if you can eat it raw chew it up you know what you can do after you peel them wash them and peel them put it in your food processor and beat it up break it up not all your beaks at one time but one and put it in take your tablespoon for every day.
Also the best meat to eat is bison 🦬 that's right Buffalo they do not get hormones injections like cows do we are in North America the original bovine is bison cows are imported from Europe and Asia
Cows are not the original bovine of North America
    But Buffalo is,
Also buffaloes cannot be quartered in a barn because they are wildand they do have Buffalo ranches but they are left outside all year long and they are so wide that the farmers they take and they lock down one part of the farm let the grass go back and let them graze in one part that section it off let them graze in one part then they move them on and they easy to move on just open the gate and they will go into where the new grass at clothes at gate
That is the most healthy that is the most healthiest meat in the whole of the United States because they are kept outside they eat grass they don't be eating no dry hey that the nutrients than dried up out.
They put their young and they all in the middle and the rest of the Buffalo circle around them to keep them warm and they turn their back to the wind they are so wild they cannot be quartered in a barn sleeping and stepping in all the rest of the animals urine and poop 💩
Also we have fluoride in our water fluoride kills the nitrogen oxide they do sell toothpaste that does not have fluoride in it.
Just when you go to the store special some of the big box stores where are the rest of the toothpaste isI water has to we don't need fluoride in our water drinking water because when you get grown and you go to the dentist and you didn't got grown they will not put fluoride on your teeth like when you was a youngster they won't do it because they know it won't do no good they know the insurance companies at the dentist they will not pay for an adult getting fluoride put on their teeth that is only for a child and I believe they cannot drink water for over an hour after they get that treatment but we don't need fluoride moving about in our bodies it eats up nitrous oxide
    .
And also buy a book the title is
    Dr mendell's
    Vitamin Bible
You can get it on Amazon.
I never worked in Amazon I never bought anything from Amazon but I know my daughter showed me where you can get it on her phone she showed me how you could get it I always go to the local bookstore.
And if I need a book I have them to order it for me through the bookstores chain
And they mail it to me I just want you to know things.
It's good to have plants in your bedroom that takes in carbon monoxide and releases good clean oxygen.
The snake plant that's one good plant and there are others
So when you go to the plant store the nursery ask them what is a good plant for to sleep within your bedroom.
Are you to look it up on you know I'm not computer savvy but if your computer savvy look it up on your computer what what plants are good for being in your bedroom that will take in all the carbon monoxide and expel good clean oxygen into the air
And yeah when you sleep with your mouth open you're hurting yourself because you can go into sleep apnea you can get sleep at me because we are supposed to breathe out of our nose not out of our mouths.
When we breathe out of our mouths we inhale too much air and I throw my mouth and throat get dry then we stopped breathing our brains don't get no oxygen and a heart don't get no oxygen and then you start waking up every morning with a headache and you don't need that then you need a prescription to go to sleep clinic to see do you have sleep at me sleep at me will kill you .
So if you got a child that keeps their mouth always open breathing out of their mouth they probably have a adenoid problem tonsil but I'm pretty sure because my daughter had that problem when she was little now she walks around with her mouth closed she don't have a mouth open trying to breathe all the time.
So that's been about 50 years ago cuz now she's she's 60 this year.
I hope my message gets crossed to you I am kind of along with it but I want people to know I'm not I'm telling you that it's not that I need any money I could use some money don't get me wrong but I I I'm not I'm doing that so you can help yourself Dr Barry is a good doctor what he says and it is quite a few more on there because I always use books and I read the books and I'm I'm making sure that they are on point please buy yourself some. ( beets )
It will help to to give you more nitric oxide .
    And that's a good thing.
Love you much love you all in Christ Jesus name be the glory amen peace 🕊️❤

Fascinating conversation, and Dr. Ignarro comes across as such a wonderful person - this topic is so relevant to me with recent a cardiac issue stemming, most likely, from long-term hypertension... the vaccine is one pathway for dealing with the virus for 100's of millions as stated, but particularly, could an alternative solution for on-going treatment of covid, flu, common cold be a pill that helps to release NO...? basically, using existing drugs such as viagra / arginine / beet juice etc. that have that NO release or conversion mechanism, but in an off-label way for the anti-viral properties. Being able to take a pill to boost NO every 4 hours or such for a few days, without serious side effects would be a course that anyone could easily comply with...

Does he know what toxins carbs/veg/fruits/ nuts, seeds, grains contain, naturally causing joint pain and digestive issues over the years?
