For me, learning poli-sci has been the most humbling experience in my life. People tend to thoroughly believe that their thoughts and opinions are ultimately the correct ones, but learning about different perspectives and approaches to tackling various issues allowed me to see that not one perspective is greater than the other while they all hold some level of valid reasoning. This was very eye opening and I was able to broaden my spectrum of tolerance and understanding of different people and their social/ political thought/opinions. I wish more people would learn about polisci it will definitely educate ourselves to respect each other in constructive manner.

I did political science at the University of Amsterdam 35 years ago. Now, my son does the same study at the same university. That amazed me, because I never discussed politics with him, haha. I noticed that the field of political science, which in the Netherlands started only after WW2, made good progress. It is not more methodical, better theoretical underpinnings. I am pleased about that.

a business major is the best fit for a political figure. you take a 4.0 student with the no how to make things happen and patient to see them develop (meaning buildings).

Political science is a social science which deals with systems of governance, and the analysis of political activities, political thoughts, and political behavior. It deals extensively with the theory and practice of politics which is commonly thought of as determining of the distribution of power and resources.

When I took political science we were required to take statistic, history Philosphy, psy 101, and social studies. And also economic. Though the skills I learn in constitutional law, statistic, and how to read data. And I had to read a lot. So people there are skills you get from a degree in this field. This pass election really help me because most people don't know the difference types of government

That was a very helpful introductory to political science . I loved how simple and clear the ideas were represented . And it really gave me a better view of how the study of political science may be like in college ...
Thank you very much for the effort you have put in the process of making this video ...

Very interesting. I, too, enjoy political theory. Thank you for your comment. Best wishes to you and your son! :)
Awesome! Thanks for the introduction to my coming course. Very excited now.
You are most welcome, Natalie. Enjoy your class! :)
I have completed Bachelors of Arts in Political science (hons) a year ago. But I had to compromise in PGDTM (post graduate diploma in tea management) due to weak financial background. Hope someday I will back to my subject again. Its awkward to study Camellia sinensis from Aristotle and Marx. desperately wanted to go further again into this subject. This video is supportive. I'm a college student majoring in kinesiology. Lol for sure kinesiology is a different field than political science. The reason why I chose my major is that I wanted to be a physical therapist and help people recover. Now, I'm stuck between two roads of either a healthcare pathway or a law pathway. Political science is something that I'm thinking of having a minor in. Who knows what if I chose to go to law school. My family told me that I have a great voice and that I speak well in terms of debating lol. For now, still thinking about whether or not I should get that minor.
Regardless of your choice, I wish you all the best in your future studies!

Quick question: I really want to study in the US as a foreign student and major in political science - but is it gonna be hard for me to find a job or get high salaries if I’m not born american?
There are plenty of immigrants in the United States with high-paying jobs. Perhaps others in this community may want to share their thoughts as well?
Thanks 🙏 for very nice lecture prof
Interesting.

a business major is the best fit for a political figure. you take a 4.0 student with the no how to make things happen and patient to see them develop (meaning buildings).

Thank you. This is a great overview of political science. You lay it out in a very clear and understandable way. I will use the information as an intro to the political science course I teach at a high school in the Czech Republic.
Many thanks! I hope the video sparks your student's interest in the subject. :)
First of all, great video by you Professor Tamir. So motivating!
I have a question for you:
Would it be the same to study political science and government policies in the US as it is in another country, I'm currently a student in the US and planning to move to UK next year. Am I going to be able to continue my study of political science in different country? thank you
Nathaniel Samuel : Yes, you can most certainly continue your studies of political science in the U.K. It won't be the same (e.g., differences in approach), but it will be good for you to get a comparative perspective. Thank you for your nice comments and sharing the video! Best wishes for success in your future studies! Stay in touch. :)

It deals extensively with the theory and practice of politics which is commonly thought of as determining of the distribution of power and resources.
