Mince pie was always my mom’s favorite for the holidays, I don’t see it much anymore here in Oregon. It seems pumpkin, apple and pecan pie are more the norm. As a side note, I went into the Montavilla Sewing store today and Loriann was there, we had a nice chat and drooled over sewing machines🤩.
I have had my eye on a Juki TL2010. Just not ready to buy yet. My Janome 6500P is having some issues, maybe it can be repaired🤞. Maybe we can meet for coffee.
I made a sponge flan and filled it with fruit. I had tracked down Quickjel to glaze it. I'm not a child, Judi, but I licked the bowl when the sponge went in the oven! I offered the job to my son (he's 42!) but he declined so I was obliged to do it myself! 😂
Lovely video Judy! When i make my chocolate roll i sprinkle unsweetened cocoa on top of the cooked warm cake and then turn upside down while still warm and then while warm with the tea towel rolled inside and then i freeze that way until i need it. Then carefully unroll stuff and reroll. I usually ice the top with a ganache which hides cracks if you get any.

Thanks for sharing Judi. My youngest daughter always makes a chocolate roulade at Christmas for those of us who don’t like Christmas pudding, it’s not as neatly rolled but it’s very yummy. 💙🧶🌈🍓

I knit too. I have found that it’s very relaxing and meditative. Knitting and sewing are good for your mental health. It’s been proven to keep your mind sharp and help with dexterity. It helped me after I went through my double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery two years ago. I love your sweater. Those colors really do suit you. Please show us the finished sweater. I used a rice flour this time. It seemed that the more I worked the pastry is easier it got to roll out. I didn't use half fat to flour, but I used slightly more fat to flour than the recipe asked for. Hannah says its much better than the mass produced gluten free flour and xan tam gum added xxx

What flours do you use for your gluten free mince pies please? I tried some this year but they were not great.
