I grew up in Sugarland. Moved away for school, overtime so many things have been built up and many people have moved into the area, times have changed. It can cost up to $2,000 to replace a catalytic converter, and that not taking in to account the other parts that they destroy in the process of cutting it out. Your car can’t pass emissions testing without it so your car is not road legal. Most people can’t afford that. In some cases they cut part of the car frame to remove the cat and the car is deemed unrepairable and the car must be scraped. So yes, 🖕these thieves! He got what he deserved.
that is right i saw a kid about 13, run into a gas station and steal a candy bar. Needed a cop around to shoot him. i seen a homeless person steal a hot dog and a run. I used to commute from Virginia to DC and had to park my truck on a commuter lot in order to take a bus….When I heard that several catalytic were stolen in the lot, I had to stop parking there and instead had to walk about a mile everyday from my house to the lot …. Good job cops 👍👍

I live in California and this happens often in my community. I did not know that was an issue in other places like this. There are some people in my area who have lost a lot of money over this and had to have their cars totaled because to replace it would cost more than their car. And unfortunately they did not have the money to take on a new car payment and cost. As someone said here where are they selling the parts to get money they play a role in the market. I have heard some people say that it is not "worth killing" someone over something like this, as it's only property. What do others think about that?

@@Jjflokn I agree with you that if the officer was threatened with the gun there is no requirement to wait to be shot at before taking defensive measures, but it would be nice if the police did not state something happened when it did not. I was wondering which was it, did the criminal shoot first or not? Cameras have shown some police have a history of painting events to make their actions look reasonable when in fact they were not. It would be nice to have more detailed reporting.

Yeah just another lie from the police. Weird bc it doesn't even seem necessary to lie in this case, but it's so habituated in them I guess he couldn't help himself.

The businesses willingly buying these stollen catalytic converters should be charged to the highest extent of the law along with pawn shops that willingly buy stollen goods. I see to many of the same businesses involved in purchasing stolen goods and nothing being done about it. If it was you or me, we'd be charged with some sort of crime. It's time businesses be accountable for their actions just as well.

I live in California and this happens often in my community. I did not know that was an issue in other places like this. There are some people in my area who have lost a lot of money over this and had to have their cars totaled because to replace it would cost more than their car. And unfortunately they did not have the money to take on a new car payment and cost. As someone said here where are they selling the parts to get money they play a role in the market. I have heard some people say that it is not "worth killing" someone over something like this, as it's only property. What do others think about that?
The suspect drew a gun. Had he not drawn a gun he would not have been shot. Pretty simple if you ask me.
If your life and the life of your family is dependent on having a daily driver, I can understand why. Horse thieves used to get hung because the owners existence was dependent on that form of transportation. As for myself it would be a minor inconvenience and my insurance would cover the loss
You seem to be missing the entire point of this story: after a brief chase, police engage suspect who draws gun & fires @ police, who return fire killing suspect; property isn't even really germain to this story other than that's how LEO's 1st heard about this dirtbag
If someone is stealing because they are hungry i have sympathy for them. If someone is stealing because they are too lazy to work an honest job then i hope they get shot.
My thoughts would be why carry a gun. It would be best to just put hands up and surrender. That was not the case and didn't happen..so the rest is history

Mine was clipped twice within 7 months. Once at my apartment and another at a middle school.
