I often ask myself, what happened to the time. It was eaten up by events larger than any of us have control over. I've lived a rich life, finding joy when I can.

@@nataliegibson495 thank you
I hope life is treating you well and you’re progressing in your journey. ❤
One of my favorite songs of all time
Still gives me goosebumps in the same way it did back then.
Fat lip is in my opinion the most I respect. He’s so honest and not trying to toot his own horn. I can hear the pain and struggle in his voice
He has a sad story post pharcyde. Dude fell on REALLY hard times.
Fat Lip is one of the realist when it comes to his rhymes and his honesty. A lot of his rhymes are real life experiences AND he's funny. Enjoy his art.
Their flow was so authentic and pure, no gangsta stupidity, showing off how violent and tough they are. This group is real, dynamic lyrical skills, true rap artists.
Rip Dj Dilla. This guy was a musical genius. This song and " BELIEVE IN GOD are so good. Masterpieces. Always enjoy listening to them.
If only I could find a time machine and hangout with my cousin in Momence, IL watching this video in 1995. Cherish what you have because it's over before you realize it.
I’ve been singing these words for a few days now….my Soul needed to here this I guess but been rocking this since it came out, 1995!!!! Real Hip-Hop ….i will always LOVE and appreciate the Pharcyde and their Words of Wisdom…
Still a headbanger in 2024 and 4ever💯❤️
Damn.. please let me turn back the hands of time
When you find out how, please let me know. This song was out during one of the happiest times of my life
Ain't happening bruh. But nothing wrong with wishing. While you at it wish em back for all of us.
I'm telling you!!!!!!!!!
The baseline in the hook is just so damn addictive 🔥🔥🔥 This gotta be one of the best hip hop songs ever made
Dilla...nuff said.
@@JohyeahM RIP J Dilla 🙏🏿
@@MPPharaoh he meant that Jay Dee actually produced this beat.
The original sample;

Love this song I was young when this came out ! Will always be a classic! I'm 43 now and I still fw it
SAME I WAS 13....41 NOW..BUT WHEN I WAS YOUNG I NEVER REALIZED THE VIDEO AND WHAT THEY WERE DOING....🤯🤯🤯🤯
As amazing as this song is, it’s bittersweet. In 1995 I graduated High School , now in 2021 my daughter is graduating High School. What happened to 26 years?!
I’m only 27 and feel these exact bittersweet feelings that you speak of. Life passes us by so fast we don’t even notice. Time is precious we have to appreciate it🤞🏾
That doesn't sound bittersweet to me bro. That's beautiful. Congratulations on your baby girl graduating. Enjoy the moments and the reminders like these of how far we've come. ❤
I often ask myself, what happened to the time. It was eaten up by events larger than any of us have control over. Some are living in a bright future, while too many have succumbed to the same curable problems of the past; rent & bills higher than ever, life more expensive than wages. I've lived a rich life, finding joy when I can.
Anybody who been bullied or feel like they are outside or feel like they're different or can't fit in society please play this record it take you a place you would never been and did you can have the world on your own and I love this record it brings back memories so thank you the pharcyde for my childhood
This Masterpiece will remain “The Classic of Classic” even after the world ends.
Blows today's music out of the water.
Clear out the water 💣
It’s basically in space at this point
Sekal for real though.
Sekal not all music
Agreed
Man seeing this makes me miss being a kid coming to watch rap city after school everyday dope video unique style
East-Coast Hip Hop yes I try to explain it to my kids it was just different time passing slang changing i miss this time of my life
East-Coast Hip Hop you ain't never lying
Same here!!!!!
East-Coast Hip Hop
I miss rap city and the mtv videos
Rap city the basement
I was like 17 give or take when this dropped, and it stayed in heavy rotation in my car, my home stereo, and my discman. The mid 90's was peak hip-hop, and this was during my junior/senior years of high school. So much nostalgia 🥹
Very underrated group I still bump them at 53
Respect
The beat to this song is so haunting and glorious at the same time. I’ve seen it go from original to remix to remake. I’ve been invested for some time now. 🙌🏽🙏🏽💜☺️
Born in 95, been reppin' this jam ever since I got into 90's hip hop back when I was a teenager. Can never forget about this gold track man.
I remember singing the hook and did not realize this was Pharsyde till a week later. This song hits home when you really listen to it. These guys will be played 100 years from. Now. I wonder what they are up to now.
You a hater.
I like how they have their own vevo now on youtube. Thanks whoever put this together and for removing all the copy infringers
Still bumping this in 2022 into 2023! Growing up in the 90's was a blessing it was the golden era I miss it so much
2024...almost 2025
People who came here are real hip hop heads,2019 and still...
Totally miss that
Now I feel like a real 90s kid even tho I wasn't there!😭😭😭😭
2020!
Back in the days 😎
Amen
It's 1995 !
I love that part I wish it was 1995 again
If only...1995 was a great year for me. I was happy, healthy, successful...didn't have all the bullshit we have today...enjoy your youth, because its fleeting. One blink and I'm staring at an old man in my mirror...😢
I was 11 in 1995
@@lateshiachilds3640 omg same i love that part too. I also really wish it was 1995😔
Unfortunately i wasnt born then😔
This type of hiphop makes me want to cry knowing we can never have this time back 😪
When you used to wait four hours for this to play on The Box Music channel... a masterpiece. 90’s Hip hop dealt with real issues but also brought an underlying progressive consciousness. Today well... at least we got Kendrick!
James Bentley yes I remember waiting for this song on the box teenage memories
The worst part about it is even Kendrick is starting to take on the new style thank god we got jcole
And Cole and Lupe
@@wubi5415 he's using modern beats but still rapping about real stuff. He's a master at blending a radio friendly sound with social commentary. J Cole is overrated
@@ayeyobossman6151 U crazy nigga
If your still here in 2024 you have a wise soul

If it wasn’t for 8 mile I wldnt know what this is I’ll admit, I’m 22 and this just feels better to the soul than anything else 🙆🏻♂️I wish we cld turn back time
I fell in love with Hip Hop in 1983. I’ll never stop loving it.
As a kid I never realized how deep this video and song was!!
Check is out on TH-cam like all rap like all old school rap like all hip-hop like all 90s🎶🎶🎶🎶
It is a very intelligent video
It’s one of the best videos. Loved this song and video. I remember I was 12 when this came out.
@@sonyapeach I was 12 when this came out as well, '82 baby ❤️
I now understand it
It’s 1995 I was 8 years old and this was jamming back then and still is now 🔥🔥🔥 J Dilla the 🐐
One of the greatest rap songs in history👍😊
Classic! Who's Running in 2019? I woke up this morning with this song in my head I had to hear it.
I started high school in '95. How time flies!
Tell me about it. '94-'98 High School days...How did the time pass so fast? 😢💗
40 years old now and still remember smoking to this. I used to play it every single day in 2000. Don't smoke anymore and it's still just as amazing as it was then! One of my all time favorites.
Not a fan of what is called hip hop or rap today. But I go back to this era of music, and while I love the grunge, post grunge...etc. I see how this genre was pretty spectacular too. The nineties were a renaissance of music in all forms. Thank you for posting this.
You r absolutely right pal, renaissance of music in every asprct
yep, just about all genres were at their peak in the 90s.. it was a great time to be alive as a music lover.. I know I'll never see (hear) anything like it again..
@@KishBish u bet man
@@oreziopancrazio3685 I'm a woman, but yeah lol.. entertainment in general was great in the 90s.. music, movies, tv.. sad what it's become but at least we can hop on TH-cam to relive the good times..
I love the 90s because rap and rock both were widely popular and artists like beastie boys, cypress, shit even rage against the machine were fucking wrecking...and the messages still remain relevant
I rededicated my life to living for God recently. This chorus fits my life perfectly- I couldn't keep running away from Him.
Amen same here bro God bless u
same for me but what about that evil figure on the right coming out at 2:19 ? And that eye triangle next ? It makes me believe that even Pharcyde sold their souls
@@francescopiodelciello almost all celebrities have sold their souls. Just look at what society does to those who don’t conform…they get black listed and canceled. Only a few stand their ground and stay faithful to God.
@@asiangrasstoad it's not just that, it's professing that Christ is King and died for our sins. They can say God in their music, but saying Christ is a no go.
Consciousness, realness from the roots of hip-hop. Glad to see they are still touring.
90s hip hop is so good. I wasn't even alive when it came out but it's just the best. It sounds so sensational.
This has been my theme song since I was 25..now I’m 52..and it’s still my theme song🖤
2024 and still bangin! Need a re release! So relevant today the type music we missing in the culture! BIG UPS PHARCYDE!!!
We had so many Prophets disguised as hip hop artist in the 80's and 90's. Damn I miss these times....
This is the most experimental hip hop group from the era that I've come across so far. Unfortunate that their positivity didn't get as much attention as the hostile gangsta rappers at that time.
Been loving this song sing the beginning...
Never noticed that nutmeg at the start...
Brilliant...
Love this! Can’t keep running away because the things we run away from will end up back in our face
