Exactly what I was thinking at this very moment.. it's like that rap died🤔
Thought i was the only one
Tessa Queensbridge I love the way the instrumental bits ebb and flow with the beat. Combined with that ‘oh so sweet’ nostalgia..pumpin thru the airwaves and beyond, reaching new planes of thought. Who knew chillin’ like this could be so inspirational.
Being born in the summer of 93 myself makes me appreciate it even more.
I was struggling to put the feeling into words. Thank you.

That how you know it's a classic
Something people don't praise enough is all of the different backgrounds these guys are in. You don't usually see men like us in these outdoor surroundings in music videos, and I really appreciated seeing other black men surrounded by the beautiful California landscape with mountains, valleys, and beaches just chilling.
In '93 gangsta was not crowned king yet. I come back to this video just to get a glimpse of the different outdoor settings. Yosemite, Pinnacles, and maybe the Sonoma Coast, amongst idea? Im on the other side of the world now, but this video always brings me back home.
@@Internet_Eater There's older comments with a similar sentiment of mine.
@@gogogadget23 WTF you talking about?! 🤣 I'm guessing you too young for this? Gangsta rap had been huge since the mid to late 80's but this ain't rap, this is Hip Hop at it's best
100% fits with how ethereal this beat is
@@topdeckdoggangsta was crowned when NWA hit. The rest became sub-genre
Makes my cry thinking back when this came out. I was 15 in Brooklyn at the time. My whole crew at the time loved this classic. Dam I miss the 90's😢
Nothing like the 90s. Greatest decade
Feel like it was the last ‘natural’ decade. We weren’t weird tech hybrid humans yet. Yuk. It hurts
I'm 20 I'd like to experience that era
If you came of age in the 90s, you were a part of a golden time. This was the best time to be a teenager.
The beat is dope and really helps to escape the noise of reality. On the real though, we are sadly witnessing the death of novelty or anything genuine which came from strife or fueled real artwork like this. The internet has and will, only replicate prototypes of human creations and simulate the experiences we once genuinely shared in person without technological/frequency barriers... I know it sounds crazy, see "going viral" and other phenomena. Nobody wants to admit to the death of creativity or the imagination. Anyway, this type of nostalgia is the last emotional connection humanity will ever have to their past, in the near future as AI and quantum tech begins to merge together... as we become less human with each decade
Even in the future this still sounds magical...true art is timeless.
💯🙌🏾

The real finer things in life
I turned 47 years old on my birthday today. I recorded and listened to this song with MTV on cassette tape when I was 17 years old. It's a good memory that I worked part-time at a used vinyl when I was 19 years old and bought it for 6000 yen. Now, when I want to reset my bad feelings and return to my heart like a boy, I sometimes come here to listen to it. Young people, don't be pessimistic about the present. Because it has become a much more convenient world than in those days. From a Japanese uncle.

The simplicity of this music video, the vibes, the instrumentals, the rap just everything is perfect about it
One of my absolute favs
100% see no one understands that its not just the music, its the era itself, the way they directed videos, the simple grainy style of cameras used back then, the way it was mixed, the crappy mic sound, the style, the environment, it all combines and makes it perfect, I feel like things felt so much better before advanced digital technology took over the world, cuz it was simple, dirty and gritty looking, now it just looks too clean, gentrified and dead lol

They are "The Wu-Tang of the West"
But remember the West coast THE BEST COAST. HIEROGLYPHICS/SOULS OF MISCHIEF are the best group ever imo, wordsmiths, Lyrical geniuses, and changed the way people rapped. The multi's, thought pattern, and rhyme scheme was something special. This is proof th-cam.com/video/58a5fzh0tJo/w-d-xo.html Eminem and Andre 3000 were influenced by Hiero and says they are "RAPPERS RAPPERS"
The world needs a JUICE CREW, WUTANG, HIEROGLYPHICS reunion/celebration of hip-hop!! Real hip hop. Those 3 crews arguably defined the golden age of hip hop.
Hieroglyphics crew is best imo though. 93' Til Infinity, 3rd Eye Vision, and Trilogy.... Those 3 albums are better than any 3 and other crew can assemble. Add Full Circle and its a wrap.
Souls of Mischief/Hieroglyphics flows were sacred writings. Thats what Hieroglyphics means: sacred writings.

And that's only 5 of my fav tracks of their.... they have DOZENS of songs better than most rappers/crews BEST.
Also...
History lesson:
HIEROGLYPHICS/SOUL OF MISCHIEF WENT INDEPENDENT once Jive records wanted to drop them. Jive Records never gives the artist publishing rights but SOULS/HIERO put their foot down and kept em. A HUGE DEAL BACK THEN... everyone was like HOW DID THEY GET JIVE TO LET THEM KEEP THEIR SHIT??. one of the reasons JIVE dumped them later on. SOULS is smart owning their own work. HEIRO/SOM are imo the best rap group ever (yes better than WU-TANG who are 2nd..)
Labels needed HIERO more than they needed JIVE. DEL, Tajai, Opio, PhestoDee, Casual, Pep Love, and A-Plus went independent and have been going strong ever since. 20+ years. 93' TIL INFINITY!
Like NAS said in 2006... HIP HIP...hip hop... IS DEAD"

@@days5345 I think it's a very good signing. Yes he has had a below par season for his own standards, but I think he'll still be worth the money although I think £65m is a bit much. He is similar to Alonso in a attacking sense, is faster and imo can defend better than Alonso. Lampard is a manager who probably values attack more than defence and a combination of him and Pulisic on that left side will be deadly. I reckon he'll end the season with 6 goals and 9 assists while putting in a decent defensive showing. One thing is for sure, he's an upgrade on what we've got at the moment.

This makes the soul pine for a Time that'll never BE, again!!!!!
Those Golden Days of Yesteryear are beautiful memories to feel ALL OVER AGAIN whenever this sweet tune gets to bumping in the ear canals!!!!!
I swear I get the EXACT SAME FEELING every time I hear this track.
Me too

@@liridacalou3545 Me too 😊
Same! Never grow tired of it. Chills every time
Me to, and I love it Everytime I get that feeling
This song literally clears depression. I feel so happy when I hear this song
Yep. The ultimate feel good song
I second that currently at the river clearing my head listening to this and it makes me appreciate life
It cures the depression but it makes me so bittersweetly nostalgic I almost get tears in my eyes. My uncle was 3 years older than me, and he introduced me to so much of this music. He was the coolest person in my world.
This reminds me of my elementary days when life was perfect 😔
No it’s gets worse because you’ll never experience it again and you can’t go back you can only move forward till it’s your time to kick
Still amazing how teenagers can drop such a classic.
If you are over 40 you made it and you are one of the legends!!! ✌️
That really hits home. 41 and this was a long time ago.
47 and counting. Mitch respect for the comment. Especially on one of the dopest tracks from my teenage years.💯

For me, this is what home sounds like ❤
This reminds me of high school years Friday nights yo MTV raps count down. Damn feel like crying
Who's STILL pumping this in 2020???... I have my lifetime nodfactor membership, so that's 1.
@No Name WTF.. just now? You have to be under 20 y/o. Otherwise SHAME ON YOU. Open your 3rd eye and tell all your young friends to never listen to anything made after the year 2006... Like Nas said in 2006 "Hip-hop ... hip hop... IS DEAD"
Souls of Mischief/Hieroglyphics is where its at. But I love the OG's like Big Daddy Kane, EPMD, A Tribe Called Quest ... all the goats. 88-97' was the golden age of hip hop basically. You never need to support these punk ass rainbow rapping, secondhand ear-cancer listening mother fuckers if YOU JUST SEARCH OUT ALL THE GREAT MUSIC ALREADY PRODUCED - no need to follow the trash on the airwaves these days. In the words of Big Daddy Kane: "As Salaam Alaikum"
BoChosen Does anyone feel mixed emotions while listening to this? It’s like a warm blanket yet I feel scared. I love u all! Life is a scary experience man!
Never stopped, since 93!!
And till eternity
Till infinity
If this is not played on my funeral I'm not coming
ludovico ciani I tell people all the Time I want a jazz band at my funeral playing old outkast and goodie mob covers and to make it a smooth ass party
That was good fam ✌🏽
Peace & Blessings.
😂💫NOWWW THAT IS HILLLARIOUS🙌🏿
