Hi, did you heard about the software update for all 2016-2018 bikes? It seems to update suspension profile to the 2019 model and removes anti dive from street mode... Some rumors even say the update enables quickshifter+... Any experience?
Hi, Great Q. I had heard about it on a 1290 forum but i've no personal experience and not followed up on any feed back. I've not done any performance mods to mine other than free ones. It may be a good upgrade, i don't experience any issues to think about doing it currently, although that may change. I do smile at all the high power upgrades discussed, on forums as this machine is more than enough for me on a good twisty road of fast sweeper i'm not the fastest but i'm no slouch. My 2017 has a quickshifter down but not up, not heard it enables it both ways.
Q. How did you Shield the Seat from the Heat of the Engine.? It's a Pain in the Arrs after about an hour. Tried the Aluminum Heat 'Roofing' Insulation but that didn't work. Love the Bike but definitely not the Engine Heating up the Seat...
Stephen Verdonian-phd Hi, I haven’t noticed any heat through the seat, even when riding in 30° plus. The bike can even be equipped with a heated seat as an accessory. I’ve never heard of that as an issue before. I would check with a dealer maybe.
Hi SuperOmen22 - For me so far, yes fully waterproof and no problems in the rain. One pannier has a slight gap, maybe 3mm, but is still fully waterproof. The dealer said it is usual for a gap sometimes. I don't use liners although i have read some do and find them useful. Cheers.
Hi, the bike is great for 2 up, once the load settings have been adjusted to suit. Sorry I can’t comment about two up riding with the panniers as I’ve never done it, but I do know my Givi top box helps pillion comfort (with a soft pad) a bit like a back rest.
Hi - Great question - My Nexx full face helmet and AGV helmet are 'snug', but they do fit in. Best to use a cloth helmet bag (that usually comes with a new helmet) to prevent any scratches. Yes - i often use a givi top box with the panniers, no problem.
With the small cube cam that is the hero 5 session, i cant say i notice it, wind noise, air pressure or vibration, the 5 does have stability built in. But my helmet is probably not the quietist anyway.
Hi,they are an odd shape, so I have measured at the longest points. Length 50cm Height 38cm Width 33cm But as you will see they are very irregular shape. So measurement is no real indication of the shape. Cheers
Good Q. They are an awkward shape for packing stuff but space can ne optimised with careful stuffing of soft stuff. Mine have got scuffed from use, pointless trying to keep them pristine imo, BUT, they suit the bike, are easy to put on or remove have never leaked yet despite the small gap when closed , so imo yes. Id look for a 2nd hand pair unless you need new. Mine are mk1, ive read the mk2 panniers are better as they close tighter but you should look into that if you want mk2 ones.
Thanks. The GT is awesome. First bike i've owed with all the gadgets. But the power!!!..... Amazing. The panniers, rack, and top box have resolved all of the security, luggage capacity, mounting issues i've had on other bikes, plus a 23 litre tank. Wooohooo. Cant wait to do some serious touring, i'm hoping to get away fop 8 weeks in summer but hopefully a few smaller trips in between.
I did start a UK ebay search and found the GT panniers ( i managed to get a deal on mine when i bought the bike), but none that i could find had Worldwide shipping. I'd suggest ebay (or similar platform) to source them, but finding a company who will ship to India may need a deeper search. I'll let you do that, :D Or you could email a KTM dealer and ask, but they are expensive new. Get second hand if you can. Good luck.

@@KevKam Merci beaucoup,
Hi, thanks for the video. Are the panniers fully waterproof or do you still need an inner liner? Thanks.

Thank you for your speedy reply which is most helpful. Cheers.
How is it for 2 up riding? Passenger backrest?

Do they fit a helmet? Is it possible to install a topbox at the same time as panniers?

How is that GoPro position working for you? Not too vibey or disturbing airflow?

Just tried same for my Hero 6. Image stabilisation software copes well with the roads clear steady vids.
Could you list the appropriate dimensions of the side case? Length, width, and height would be greatly appreciated.

@@KevKam Thank you again for your assistance, I just put a deposit down on a 2020 1290 Super Duke GT.
@@MrDan1713 Great News!! -
Any time, you'r very welcome sir. You'r in for a treat.
@@KevKam now I just have to endure the wait until it arrives.
Does it fit a full size helmet?
Mr MegaTruong Yes, with a little bit of manouevering. I have a Nexx Carbon Zero. It fits in. Best to use a soft cover so not to scratch the helmet.
Worth the £600+ asking price?
