    Thanks for uploading. Exactly what I wanted to know. I like the look of these & the fact no metal frames once they are off. Got yaself another sub 👍

    So there is useful content on YT ! Thx for the video, it really helped me to make a decision on what luggage to get.

    Ordered my bike recently and can’t wait to get it. Having a micro fibre cloth in the front pocket is the sort of simple genius I’d never think of, so thanks for that! Unfortunately my phone won’t fit - IPhone 12 Pro Max with quad lock case - but other practical things will pop to mind sometime I’m sure.

      Your welcome, I've also started keeping the screwdriver that comes with the toolkit in there. It's handy for really tightening up the GoPro mounts and you use it to check the tension of chain is right ;) Enjoy your new machine.

    The cost of luggage is absolutely mind-blowing and always like a rip off

      Certainly is, 20% off helps but still expensive for what they are.

    The original fitment of sliding it in was easier and the rear grab handle didn't get in the way.

    Glad to see someone explore the cases. Helmets in the side case, assume the left on can hold any helmet or?

    KTM do a spacer kit which raises the grab handles to make it easier to fit the panniers 👍

    Do you know if they make inner bags for the panniers and top box by any chance

      Closest I could find is these, they're for the older model but the shape looks about right.

      Some a bit cheaper but I couldn't vouch for the site, not one I've used before.

    Thank you for the video, I’m interested in buying one in the near future, but I’ve come across some concerning complaints from other people on the web about the weight capacity for the rear top box. Is it true that the back where the top pannier goes is weak? Some people were saying that it has a 7-8 kg weight capacity and between the base plate and the top box is already at its limit and could break and not capable of weight and stress and especially if there is force exerted against it by a passenger? If you have any information on that and weight capacity of the bike after accessories I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.

    • @motocrad
      @motocrad  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The top box itself has a sticker inside stating, 90mph max and 5kg/11lbs max. The base plate itself is fairly solid. I do sometimes ride with my Father on the back. He weighs about 14 stone and the bike handles fine. I've also got the extra backrest padding fitted to the top box because my dad's back protector doesn't quite sit low enough. I store the bike on the centre stand on a dolly, I press down on the top box to lift the front wheel and move the bike around and I've never felt it to be a weak point. Hope that helps 😀

    I’ve got the same set up. Do you think they will survive a fall? I’m worried about the plastic just cracking in a slow speed fall over

    • @motocrad
      @motocrad  ปีที่แล้ว

      i wouldn't like to test it. I think they would survive a fall on a flat surface like a road or grass, but not sure they would hold up so well falling on to rocks. Might be wise to keep some heavy duty duct tape handy just in case ;o)

    I am about 90% sure I will be buying this bike in the next 6 months! Thanks so much for your review. Peculiar that the right pannier is of a different size to accommodate the exhaust but I guess it makes sense. I did not know that about these.
    I'm struggling to figure out what the small compartment with the charging port could be useful for, it's too small to be of much use for anything and almost makes more sense to remove the door and use the port for keeping an action cam powered on.
    That said, what is the purpose of mounting the phone up to the handlebars? Doesn't this bike come equipped with bluetooth pairing and GPS?

    • @motocrad
      @motocrad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, yes I thought that about the small compartment but I find myself using it more and more. I keep a small screwdriver in there for really tightening up the GoPro mounts, a microfibre cloth for wiping the visor on the go and I've recently started charging camera batteries :o) The USB in there is 5amps so it charges stuff really quick.
      Funny you should mention the GPS, my next video is going to be on that very topic. The bike doesn't actually have GPS, it pairs to your phone and then you use the KTM Connect app. The dashboard will display turn by turn instructions but no maps. The phone integration works for calls and controlling music but not much else. This is part of the reason for me mounting my phone on the handlebars. I also like the wireless charging, visibility of notifications/messages and quick access to Google Maps. An added bonus is being able to do the odd Microsoft Teams meeting on the go, helps to keep the work life balanced right ;o)

      @@motocrad Hey, I ended up purchasing this bike (also a 2022) and I love it! I have already installed a GPS navigation unit and it is a MUST HAVE for this bike. You're right the little charger may be good for gopro batteries or the like. I'd be a bit worried about heat in this compartment though. For the GPS I ended up using the AC / cigarette lighter for power.

    it is a shame to lose half a pannier because of the exhaust, it makes sense for high level exhaust on the r but the s could easilt get away with a low slung end can.

  • @axelfiraxa

    I already had a Givi V47 so got the base plate for that and skipped the KTM box. The givi is half the price all in. The part i find stupid is that the OEM topbox carrier is not included. These being ADV bikes you would expect that to be the default since pretty much everyone adds luggage. Why cant they just design that in?
    For panniers the OEM ones are actually the best integrated and worth going for. Too bad it is so damn expensive

    • @motocrad
      @motocrad  ปีที่แล้ว
