Rarely does a film bring so many tears, not from lose, but from from demonstrations of strength and humility. It’s one of the many things that makes these films so powerful.
"You bow to no one" is a perfect line, it epitomizes why Aragorn is a true king, and I wouldn't be mad if this were the last scene in the movie. But for me, the way he delivers "My friends..." hits even harder, I think it's the compassion and humility in his voice. Gets me every goddamn time.
A president leads a country and coveys much respect an honor on behalf of the country in a bow. A King IS his kingdom and coveys the Honor and Respect OF a Kingdom. It's a horrible explanation for just how significant that moment is, but I hope it's less worse than no explanation at all.
It's not just that Aragorn delivers the line that makes it so powerful. It's the fact that literally every person attending the event bows to the hobbits in response. There will never be a scene in any movie done better than this.
What's great is that moment when Arwen is looking at him from behind the veil and she seems intimidated by seeing Aragorn as a King and he looks confused by it and LUNGES in for the kiss making it clear in public to every one of his subjects that this elf is now your Queen
The immmense warmth my heart feels every time the music comes in while everyone is bowing is the same as it was the day I watched this with my parents in theaters. It never ceases to uplift me.
In a series filled with truly fantastic cinematic spectacles, this was the well deserved culmination of this tremendous labor of passion. Who could not be moved by this sign of the King's abiding love and friendship? After all the trials and tribulations they had all shared together, this love would bind them all together forever. When the King bows, no one stands ❤
Scene that encapsulates why lord of the rings is forever loved where many fantasies aren't. Its not about wizards and magic and dragons. It's about people, who care for each other and want to make things better and who choose to be great.
In my opinion this is one of if not the best trilogies ever made. The moment that he saw Arewn i thought it doesn't get any better than this and moment later I was proven wrong when he said my friends you bow to no one. Incredible story telling at its best
I have always love re-watching that scene as my favorite moment from the entire LOTR/The Hobbit film trilogy, this scene always remind of another favorite 'You Bow To No One' moment from Disney's Mulan, but Peter Jackson's The Return Of The King is just so powerful.
Aragorn “You bow to no one!” Merry: “This is kinda cool.” Pippin: “Nice! I might finally get laid!!” Frodo: “I could have saved that ring, if Sam had let me jump!” Sam: “I hope my fly is up!”
I still love how when the people bow to the Hobbits; Merrys a bit off put and anxious. Frodos feeling like he doesnt deserve it. Sams feelign awkward like hes just a humble gardener. And Pippins all "Aw.... this is nice :)" Either that or "Yeah thats right fuckers! BOW TO ME!"
"Imagine if today's leaders had a fraction of Aragorn's humility and integrity." And that right there is part of the power of fantasy stories. We can see who we wish would lead us. Sadly, the ones who would often be best in positions of power are not the best candidates. The humility and integrity is often diametrically opposed to the levels of charm, charisma, and simply BS-shovelling required to win these popularity contests we call elections.
Aragorn never wanted power, or to be King, and he never sought control... it was kinda thrust upon him, and he tried his hardest to earn the power he eventually accepted. His bowing to the Hobbits is not just a thank you to them for everything they did, or that without them he wouldn't have become King... it also shows that Aragorn, who didn't want power, will always be humble and have an absolute lack of hubris during his time as King. Knowing what he has, where and how it came to him, and using it correctly, leading by example rather than by some divine right. His first act as King, is a King's Order, that those 4 little people bow to no one, and the King bows to them.
Its ok for the drama for the films but in the books Aragorn is not a reluctant King...he KNOWS he will be King and fully accepts that but Aragorn understands he must be King and fulfill his destiny when the time is right, certain prophecies had to come true and he had to become King the way he did...and then once he united the kingdoms of men he could then wed Arwen and so forth
This scene bugs me because Frodo failed and doomed the world and nobody knows. Only Sam knows his dark secret. Not to mention Frodo tried to give the ring away freely FOUR times. If Gollum didn't accidentally fall in the lava, the world would've ended.
Anyone would fail there, the power of the ring is at its most powerful at Mount Doom. Nobody, not even Sam could of succeeded in destroying the ring by sheer will alone.
What gets me even more is knowing that merry and pippin were buried with Aragorn, together for all time
And Gimli goes with Legolas to Valinor

The power in that gesture transcends.. incredible storytelling, and Directing.
To have millions of people across the globe totally invested in the long saga was epic and I was so glad to have seen it.
It's not just that Aragorn delivers the line that makes it so powerful. It's the fact that literally every person attending the event bows to the hobbits in response. There will never be a scene in any movie done better than this.
Thanks for making me cry like 5 times
Just 5? There were 13 clips and I did for each one xD
What's great is that moment when Arwen is looking at him from behind the veil and she seems intimidated by seeing Aragorn as a King and he looks confused by it and LUNGES in for the kiss making it clear in public to every one of his subjects that this elf is now your Queen
Nice moment I suppose. But I was rooting for Eowyn myself.
She was afraid he might not have accepted her.
The immmense warmth my heart feels every time the music comes in while everyone is bowing is the same as it was the day I watched this with my parents in theaters. It never ceases to uplift me.
"And for a brief moment, four hobbits were the tallest beings in Middle Earth"
In a series filled with truly fantastic cinematic spectacles, this was the well deserved culmination of this tremendous labor of passion. I’m certain that I will never live so long that this moment fails to get me
As they used to say "not a dry eye in the house". Outstanding films.

The Hobbits are speechless as this is the first time since leaving the Shire they've been able to see the top of someone's head.

This scene always brings tears to my eyes
one looks proud, one looks awestruck. one looks confused, and the last doesnt know what he feels
Elrond..."Oh, you're King now. Sure, you can have my daughter."😊 Also, I love the one reactor saying "That's my hobbit!" We all feel that way.
I could watch these reactions all day !
I have always love re-watching that scene as my favorite moment from the entire LOTR/The Hobbit film trilogy, this scene always remind of another favorite 'You Bow To No One' moment from Disney's Mulan, but Peter Jackson's The Return Of The King is just so powerful.
When the entire kingdom of Gondor bows to you, your the boss...
This scene gets me every time .... 13 times in the last 20mins
Aragorn “You bow to no one!”
Merry: “This is kinda cool.”
Pippin: “Nice! I might finally get laid!!”
Frodo: “I could have saved that ring, if Sam had let me jump!”
Sam: “I hope my fly is up!”
As all classic heroes, Aragorn defeats the bad guy, saves the day, and becomes king. And as an added bonus, gets the girl.
And yet, he leads all in bowing to the real heroes.
I’m a big tough ornery man and that “You bow to no one” part fkn gets me.
The music was absolutely so damn on par, right at that moment.
I'm not crying you are!
Everytime I watch a LOTR reaction and Reacts With Jax is on it, she really knows her shit. Know the books is a huge plus. Had to say it haha
For a moment, 4 Hobbits were the tallest beings in all of Middle-Earth
The thing that got me was frodos expression during that scene knowing he was still broken.
"And so, but for only a moment, four little Hobbits stood taller than all the people of Minas Tirith.."
I still love how when the people bow to the Hobbits;
Merrys a bit off put and anxious.
Frodos feeling like he doesnt deserve it.
Sams feelign awkward like hes just a humble gardener.
And Pippins all "Aw.... this is nice :)"
Either that or "Yeah thats right fuckers! BOW TO ME!"
I've come to the conclusion that people who don't cry for this are sociopathic.
"Imagine if today's leaders had a fraction of Aragorn's humility and integrity."

A true King.
Damnit, why do I keep doing this to myself... 😭😅
Never seen Lulu before but she seems like a sweetheart. Might have to go check her out.
And on that day, 4 hobbitses stood tall above all Middle Earth
Aragorn never wanted power, or to be King, and he never sought control... it was kinda thrust upon him, and he tried his hardest to earn the power he eventually accepted.

It's the perfect litmus test to see who's a sociopath
Lord of The Ring is the masterpiece in art.
That score tho is perfection
And on that day, the small folks became the tallest.
Some reactors: "I'm sorry for crying and getting emotional."
Fans of the greatest movie trilogy of all time: "You apologize to no one."
Every time :)
I envy people who are watching for the first time !
is it just me or did aragorn like went for arwen's face like a zombie. I mean its like he ate her face god damn that kiss!
Every freaking time
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed it.
If you didn’t choke up at that scene you better check yourself for a pulse.
and on that day no man stood taller than a hobbit
Such powerful scene! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My friends... you bow to no *sobs*

I’m not crying. I just have something in both my eyes.
They don't need to bow; they're already down there.
