    I've been living and travelling to Rome for over 40 years now, so it's like my 2nd home :D Your videos are so helpful to people that are visiting this beautiful city for the first time! Brava! I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't like Sicily as I loved it but everyone's experience can be so different. I particularly loved the Eolian Islands and the area around Castellamare del Golfo & Scopello...the north-western area plus Taormina of course! We are going to our new home in Tuscany very soon, so I can't wait but I'll always be in love with bellissima Roma and will visiting family there. Keep up your awesome work Anastasia 🥰🤗

    Hi and thanks for the info . My wife and I are planning to move to Italy this fall and looking at the heat wave in the EU and Italy now, we been checking out the forecasts of all the northern cities. It seems like La Spezia and Genoa very few days go into the 90's F(higher than 32C) , so those 2 north western cities it seems much cooler vs other interior cities in Italy. So, if u have gone to these 2 cities, do u recommended us looking for houses or apartments there?

    Going this november; I'm a person that likes cold and rainy days more than hot and sunny ones, so it's perfect the tickets are so cheap in November!! Love the culture and city, but most excited for the food and drink! It's the whole reason I travel. Eat, drink, write, repeat
    Edit* Also just a random question: do you think it's easy for English speakers to get jobs in Rome? When I went to athens it could be fairly easy, what with tours and guest services (bar tending and restaurants), but what is it like in Rome? I dream of moving, but only knowing English seems like an implication. What's your perspective?

    My wife and I were talking about Italy and so far it sounds like we'll be landing in Rome, spend max 4 days there, rent a car, drive to Larino to see where my nonno was born. Spend 2-3 days there, drive down to Salerno, take the ferry to Amalfi and stay on the Amalfi coast for maybe 4-5 days, which my in-laws recommended after their trip there a few years ago. Then go back to Salerno, catch a train to Napoli and spend a few days there visiting the city, going to Pompei and stuff. We're there for now, it's a rough plan for now that we'll work more in detail the closer we get to our trip. We have to go in July because my wife is a 6th grade teacher and the school year here in Québec ends the Friday before St-Jean-Baptiste Day or Fête Nationale as it's also called here, and she has an extra week for meetings and cleaning up the classroom. We left for Paris this summer on June 28, the day after she finished work.
    There are 551 steps to get to the top of the dome of St. Peter's, by the way, I just looked it up. I doubt I'll be able to do it with my heart condition.
    I love it when you talk about food, because that's one of the things I want to experience in Italy, just reminds me of the great food we had in France this summer, and now I'm drowning in my own drool!! 🤣🤣
    That said, you give so many recommendations for restaurants, I'm giving you one if ever you come to Montreal one day. La Bella Italiana at 5884 rue Jean-Talon Est in St-Léonard. They make their own pasta and they have a wood fire oven for pizza, and they have great gelato. It's one of our favourite places in town, you won't regret it!

It is HOT this summer we were dying walking in the heat so make sure to pack super breathable clothes. We had a flight delayed on our way back home to US and unfortunately missed our connecting flight, but airline paid for hotel and dinner for the night until our next flight out the next day. I went to Sicily last September for almost 3 weeks. I went a bit all over the place and loved it. My favourite place was Palermo, I would get on a plane and go there right now if I could, but I really enjoyed everywhere I went. I found the people very friendly and helpful, the food and accommodation were really good and there’s so much to see and do.
      We’re all different, we can’t all like the same things. I personally don’t have much affection for Venice, I’m sure most people would find that strange.

    the best exchange is always from a Bank or Bank ATM. But never ever ever use an ATM at the airport or train station or any ATM that is not directly attached to a bank. When you use a bank there is no middle-man. You get the bank-to-bank rate. If you use an exchange place, they are always going to build a commission into the rate they give. That is how they make their money. I go to Europe a lot and I never take currency. I have a few euros in my pocket from previous trips for incidentals and just hit a bank ATM when I get there. You might ask your bank which bank will give you the lowest service charge. Bank of America website has a list of Banks which have the lowest fees in many countries. Other banks probably have something similar. Sorry Anastasia for making so many comments.

    • @StayFabulousTL
      @StayFabulousTL  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for sharing with the community! I completely agree - avoid all the ATMs at the airports and train stations and always use the ones that are attached to the actual bank.

    Здравствуйте, был в начале июля, влюбился в город, заразился/заболел Италией. Ваши видео помогли, спасибо.
    Лечу снова, но в октябре, не сочтите за труд рассказать о погоде а октябре и что необходимо брать из вещей кроме удобной обуви .
    Благодарю

    We are leaving for Italy in June. 25 days. Going to Milan, Venice, Florence, sorrento, and Rome. Flying into Rome for family reasons. Traveling to Milan first. Do you think it's wise to get train tickets before we arrive ? Family of 3 traveling so we want to sit together . Only taking carry ons with 1 person item. Want my carry on next to me or over the over head bins

    Hello! Thank you for all your tips on how to travel to Italy!!! If you have dressier flip flops that look like sandals , are those still allowed? I wouldn’t want to offend anyone..

    • @StayFabulousTL
      @StayFabulousTL  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries, you will not offend anyone. The reason why I point out those things is because a lot of people don't want to look like tourists when they come to Italy. Italians usually wear flip flops only in beach towns, but depending on your flip flops it might work. I would have to see them to tell you 100%

      Depending on when in August. During the middle of August a lot of places unfortunately are closed. During the last week of August a lot of places begin to re-open. I would book everything in advance - sights, restaurants, etc.

    You should tell us why you don't like Sicily. Its not fair to simply
    throw a negative comment about
    anyplace without some context. Sicily is a unique place with its own antiqueties and culture.

    • @StayFabulousTL
      @StayFabulousTL  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is only for me to decide what I should or should not do. Someone asked me a question and I gave my honest opinion. Prior to saying it, I did mention that it was my personal opinion and experience. If I expanded on this topic, more people would've not taken a chance on Sicily. It was better not to go into details.

      October is one of the best months to visit Italy! As far as Greece, please keep in mind that on the islands, it will be the end of the season, so places will start closing. But the weather will still be nice.

      @@StayFabulousTL we will be on a cruise that ends in Citavecchia on October 21 at 6am. We will stay at the Hotel Rinascimento for one night and will fly out October 22. Not much time. I believe we are within walking distance of several sights but would like to see the Sistine Chapel and a basic Coleseum tour.
      Also while on the ship, we will be stopping in Naples. Some of our group would like to do a private 7 hr tour to Almafi coast. We will be in port from 6:30 to 4:30pm. Do you think it is possible to go all that way stopping in Sorento Positano, Ravello and make it back to the ship by 4:00pm?
