I’m finding all of your videos to be so helpful for our first trip to Italy in a few weeks! Thank you! My husband and I are traveling to Italy for two weeks, ending the trip in Rome for a few days. We are surprising each other with a dinner or activity for our 10 year anniversary. Is there a particular activity or dinner that you would recommend for a romantic celebration together? I’ve heard of the love lock bridge but wasn’t sure if that was encouraged or discouraged by locals. Thank you!
The love locks are highly discouraged. Check out the article "Love Without Locks: Why We Shouldn't Leave Padlocks in Paris & Beyond." Basically, the locks have become a hazard not only to the structures they have been placed on but also to people (when those structures crumble or fall under the weight of the locks) and to the environment (when people toss the keys into the rivers). This is also costly to the government when they are forced to remove thousands of pounds of locks to save the structures and for the safety of the people. It is completely irresponsible to travel to another country and contribute to the degradation of ancient structures and the environment. It would be better to engage in an activity that you both enjoy doing and possibly bring back a memento from that activity. If you enjoy art then book a private art tour and buy some art. If you are foodies then book a foodie tour or a cooking class and learn to cook carbonara and then take that recipe with you back home and teach it to others. If you love vintage and antiques then book a vintage shopping tour and bring back a fabulous antique memento.

@@StayFabulousTL It is actually a month in room starting towards the end of October. Probably up north for a bit and then to Sicily as well. Then off to explore the rest of the Mediterranean for an additional few weeks. While in Rome, I will be in the Pigneto area, any tips? It sounds as if it will be a great location.

Depends on the budget, but if you have lots of luggage I'd say either a taxi or a private car (the difference is minimal in price, to be honest.)

Do you recommend booking trains through Omio rather than directly through the Trenitalia or Italo sites? I have the Italo app but the Trenitalia app is not available in Canada.

You do, but right now it's still too early. I would wait a month or two as they will post more options and tickets with special offers.
