- Make FAST and EASY grass in Blender (2.90+). This method produces some relatively realistic results, and is not as realistic as other methods, but this will definitely get you some fast and satisfying grass without any modelling.

Glad this video has been helpful to so many. Here is an absolute beginners course for making a character: skl.sh/306yzxa
Now you should do a new grass tutorial, but with geometry nodes to illustrate the differences. Or would you use the particle system still? It does work well.
If your Hair/Gras looks "Fat" or like "cones" make sure to reduce the Diameter Root to like "0.1" in the "Hair Shape" Section of the Particle Properties.
thank you
thanks so much!!
Good GOD! THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES!!!! This was driving me crazy!
you saved my life, thank you!
At 3:05, if anyone's having issues grabbing the mesh the way he does it, try scrolling up or down (using the scroll wheel) to scale the circle after grabbing a point/vertices then move your mesh. He didn't mention that on the video, and I initially had trouble creating that hill.
Thanks!
I must still be missing something...that just zooms my viewport in and out (Found it...it's SHIFT + Scroll wheel.)
thanks man! appreciate
didn't work :(
Active the proportional editing (The cricle option on the top of the screen 3:05 )
Him: *30,000 hairs but can add 80 million and his computer is fine*
Me: *adds 3 hairs*
My computer:
no.
hah. same...
im on MacBook Pro 2019 that sumabitch will not compute lol I just tried in blender 3.0 30000 hairs worked for me
@@wearenotdoinggethelp1077 hahaha
sad and funny xD
If for whatever reason your grass is upside down like mine, try recalculating the normals of your plane
select plane -> tab for edit mode -> 3 for face select -> a to select all -> shift+n to recalculate normals
Thank you so much. I have been crying over that i cannot make grass look real. But you helped me. Thank you so much.
I think this is the best way to make grass in blender, simple and fast. Thanks a lot :)
not the best, but definitely the fastest!
This is an amazing tutorial. Short, explains extremely well, and the end result looks very good. I needed to do this for a project and thankfully found this. You are a godsend man
You are so good and underrated artist love your tutorial
Thanks
Its amazing how many different, yet similar, ways to make grass in blender. Very cool, thanks for the tip!
Thanks, man! I had something needed to be done. I've been struggling to make good grass for a project, and I came across this video. You rock!
I love the grass! Thank you for a fast and easy way to make grass. And now I have been introduced to particles! Thank you!
thx! i adapted this technique to make 500 sq meters of really good grass. Still heavy on my 3090 card but it works!
Finally a person who can explain this without rapidly clicking without telling the people watching what is happening
Thanks a lot for the tutorial! I didn't think i can make grass so quickly=)
thanks for the tutorial its will really helpful for my future projects
wow this was exactly what i needed, simple and clear.
Perfect tutorial, clear easy to follow, no hesitations and effect is fine for my scene TY bests
Really a Special Tutorial! Thank you so much for this method and tips to achieve an amazing Grass Mesh in Blender. Well Done! Congratulations!. Keep teaching us!
Thanks bro! Just started using Blender, this was great!
Amazing tutorial!
I set the hair number to 15000 and my grass looks so good.
Awesome tutorial. Thanks for sharing it. Great speed and so clear to understand!
Anyone know why the particles are triangles when i switch to cycles?
Look for "Hair Shape" in the particle attribute of the grass plane. You should reduce the root and increase the tip.
@@WhatUpIan thanks you two xD
This was very helpful. Thank you.
awesome tutorial!!! thanks! rendering with cycles made it look way better :)
thank you, this helped a lot to complete the look of my first archviz
Brill tutorial dude. Got everything I needed to know
This is really cool, this can make work easier, i needed this 😊
Do you think it's relatively straightforward to get the grass blowing in the wind slightly? I really like the outcome of this grass though, looks great on my current project. Good tutorial!
Dude, this is really epic. And viewport works perfectly.!
When he said you know what im doing ( i really had no idea) ill keep watching and trying again until i get it 😂
This is beautiful. Thank you
it's faster method ever ive seen. subscribed
I learned a lot with this tutorial, thank you!
Many Thanks, my Brother!! You're an Amazing Teacher. 🙏🏾
Worked perfectly thank you!

Thank you man,,, this one is really helpful .
Awesome! I needed this too long
You are the best!
Thank you !
super useful. thanks
Amazing tutorial! Very easy to follow and the result looks exactly how i imagined. I have just one follow up question. I have multiple objects that i need to place on the grass and i can't find a way in which the grass wouldn't peek throught the object. Does anyone have a tip? Thanks
Thanks. This was very good.
he just earned a sub
Thanks, worked perfect and looks very good close up in cycles with the mentioned fix in comments. One question is there any way to reduce the black tones in the grass?
When you made it bumpy you could've edited it as a low-poly plane then applied a subdivision
Good tutorial ! Thanks .
thanks a lot, very useful!
thank you so much this helped me so much and saved loads of time i cant thank you enough :D
very nice way of teaching .....thanks
LEGEND
Thank you!!!
Hey pixxo 3d u said in the hydraulic press tutorial that u mabye would make one with soft body physics. Plz make one.
Brilliant!
Thank you so much!
Pretty good for a background. THX
🔥
This was very helpful!
nice thank you!!!
thank you for the tutorial !
My grass came out as some strange blobby peaks. I started all over and it worked the second time, how strange.
Same thing happened to me. I had to adjust Hair Shape> diameter scale/root
I think this is due to the scaling, when creating a plane and changing the scale you screw up the way the grass is made/planted. Ctrl + A > Scale fixed mine
@@esdenaze Thanks.
@@esdenaze bra thanks
@@esdenaze tysm i swear i was about to just give up ty ty
its easy just like how u said, thanks alot
Thanks a lot mate!
THANKS!
Thanks! That was interesting :)

So are you ☺️
Good!
Dope! ty
Very Good Video Thank you so much
Nice brother
Great tutorial thank you for the education!!
I think I just found my new favorite blender channel. Thanks dude, the grass looks retarded good in both eevee and cycles.
That's awesome! Thankyou
ty for this
This is great !
thanks so much man
Me: Grass is pointing wrong direction!!
Later me: Flips the whole object.
Anyways, thanks!
Oh gods it makes the render so slooooow on my machine.
Thanks for the tutorial tho!
Oof
Nice tutorial. But i still don't understand why this freeze my pc, and in Unreal Engine I use a bigger space with too much more vegetation, rocks, trees and works just great.
Not enough ram space maybe
Coooooooooooooooooool
None of my hair particles are growing "up." They're all shooting out sideways even though all I did was make a plane, scaled it up, subdivide it, sculpt it a little, and then subdivide again. I even reset my normals and they still grow out sideways from my vertices
cool
How long did it take to render in cycles?
Great! But I have a problem, when I change to cycles it disappears, why?
Nice. Thanks ¡¡¡
Hope this works in 3.0!
Edit..
IT DOES
