Unlike Jay, Linus can actually get somewhere in one day. I'm not sure that this is what they were hoping for, but they should've stuck to realistic expectations in the first place. There's a reason Linus went 'oh dang' from the moment he saw the parts selection and immediately went into 'speed built mode'.

It starts with just sniffing threadripper, then before you know it you're sucking off Der8auer just to get another hit off the Cryonaut syringe, even though it was shared between different builds, doing so many cores your PSU is permafried, and slamming 3 shots of coolant straight out of a broken AIO when you wake up just to make it through the morning... Plus Threadripper is a gateway CPU to Servers, and that's when things start to get expensive.
