There’s a decidedly more upbeat tune that plays from the alarm clock in the very beginning of the game, waking Morgan Yu up for a first day on the job at TranStar. “Mind Game” is fresh and hopeful, but of the slight hint of uneasiness to it is enough to make you wonder if it’s foreshadowing something sinister. This catchy synthwave jam just happens to be composed by Audio Director, Matt Piersall and Raphael Colantonio, Arkane and Prey’s Creative Director.

Agreed, both Resident Evil 7 and Prey have been amazing experiences. If I'm not mistaken I am halfway through Prey and so far the game has not disappointed me one bit. Hell, it reminds me of the Alien movies alot.
And the fact that its insanely optimized is making me love it even more! :)
Melon Man to me OT feels like what you would get if you put Half-Life, Alien Isolation, Dead Space, and Bioshock into a blender, hell the special edition shotgun all the gold designs on it really reminds me of the Bioshock shotgun

I love Prey but I dont think it's as good as the rest of the games that have come out this year. My main problem with it is that while the first playthrough is amazing, following playthroughs are kind of "meh", it doesn't offer as much choice as I wish it did.

I like how this is the first song you hear in the game, and the title of the song and the lyrics are kind of a spoiler in their own right. The game starts off with a spoiler playing right in your ears :P

In the beginning there is one more mind game, where you realize that you don't live in Earth anymore and the balcony of your apartment is just a window to the lab on the orbit station.

-Mindgame number 1: You are not in Earth. This one you are guaranteed to beat
-Mindgame number 2: The one mimics play on you through out all the game. This one kind of never ends, until you beat the game itself because it keeps you paranoid of everything that's even slightly out of place
-Mindgame number 3: You are not in Talos1 and you are not Morgan Yu. This one you beat when you finish the story (except if you escape with Alex's escape pod)
-Mindgame number 4: The simulation as a recreation BASED on Morgan's memory but it isn't a faithful recreation, and you shouldn't trust everything you saw when making the choice to help humans or kill them all.
That the simulation was a recreation based on Morgan's memory means that
1- You can change some things otherwise they couldn't judge your actions since it would've been just what Morgan did all over again
AND
2- Alex could've tweaked the simulation to make it easier to empathise with humans and choose not to kill them, for example making January say that since they are thypons they have no other choice than killing but as a human you can choose better (when you kill the Russian prisoner on psycotronics) or the time when Alex said that thypons aren't evil since they lack mirror neurons. Selling us the idea that humans understand Thypons to a degree and only a few of them weren't phased by the fact that other humans were being killed to make neuromods.
The fourth one im the less confident about but hey if im going with the "OMG THE SONG LISTED THE AMOUNT OF MINDGAMES THAT WE HAVE TO BEAT" idea i couldn't leave it at 3 :P

it honestly hurts thinking about how under-appreciated this gem of a game is, mostly due i think to the poor name choice. theres a certain vagueness to having it be the same name as a game many people have heard mentioned far back in the past
It's a fitting name though, as who is prey changes throughout the game. You go from being the prey to becoming the predator. It's such a cool game and I really hope they make a sequel.

I don't understand what saying John Cameron by poor name choice. This game is the sequel of the early 2000s Prey game. There was a Prey 2 in development but it was canceled and they worked on this one instead.

And it made so very well.
THe game is fucking good.
And it resulted in sales that are poorer than they should be. The first Prey left a bitter taste in people's mouths. Even the crappy title like "Mind of Prey" would eliminate the confusion.
Unfortunately. The original was way more creative and interesting.

This game is an instant classic to me the mystery throughout it, the soundtrack, the gameplay is all really great. Reminds me of bioshock but with a team focused on making an enthralling sci fi mystery
reminds me of dishonored but in space tbh, with a little bit of bioshock thrown in there, i feel like arkane did a great job with this game 10/10 will play again

I know this is a 3 year old comment, but I did want to add that it technically wasn't all a fabrication. The events of talos I did happen, but the simulation of those real events you are playing was indeed fabricated but for test purposes on how a Typhon with human traits would have decided things.

Well, one of mimics dies when he morphed into fuse, and somebody plugged him into electirc box. And there is a room where one guy marked every item he was sure not a mimic with a "Not a mimic" sticky notes - and one of items he marked so WAS a mimic. So, they certainly have patience for something like that.

This is my alarm on my cell phone. Reminds me of a girl who I barely knew to begin with. It's kind of a way of holding on to her memory, but it stands alone as well. Over and over again. I’m about 10 hours in, it’s magnificent. So mad I didn’t get around to it sooner.
What a crazy game really, I started playing it back in June of 2017 but I was stuck in some area, returned recently and beat it, I should have tried harder when I was stuck, but it doesn't matter now. This game is awesome and we need more games like Prey 2017

I was having a shitty evening, I opened spotify and listened to Prey's soundtrack. I loved every single second of it, but after the fifth track I fell asleep because it kinda soothed me. When I woke up (when Mind Game started) my headache and tachycardia were gone and I felt very calm. It seems like it made a very good effect on me, I love it! Now I'm listening to it all for the second time (and I'm awake ;) ) thanks guys, can't wait to play the game!!

Great track, loving the music of Prey so far, good job. Boggles the _mind_ to see comments saying the OST/Music of Prey is garbage. Only complaint I have about the music/sound design is the Mimic encounter music track a bit too loud and obnoxious every single time the player fights a Mimic, other than that, what I've heard sounds great. Less than a week to go!

Sadly, even though DooM was a success, Prey floped in sales thus negating the chance of a sequel getting made in the near future. I can't believe the people who praised doom didn't get behind prey, since both games capture really good 'old school type soul' that games used to have when games were amazing.

LOL after beating this game for the 5th time I'm even more impressed at it. Even though its not an RPG per se, the developers really went the extra mile when taking into account the player's actions. There are just so many possibilities in this game. It's like; you go to a place you're not supposed to go yet and it changes the events, dialogue, the people who you'll meet. Who's alive and who's dead by the time you find them. truly a masterpiece, the likes of half life, system shock, Deus Ex, etc.@@thewestwind_

I wish they renamed this franchise so all the haters would shut the fuck up. This game has nothing to do with the old games. They just SHARE THE SAME NAME.
OmegaZenki Seriously though. I get that people want a sequel to the original, or that Bethesda Softworks should have been more sympathetic to the original Prey devs. But this game is made by an unrelated studio altogether, and it looks damn good.
I like to see these as separate franchises as well. And, I'm LOVING where this game is going! What bothers me is that the developers called this a "re-imagining" of the 2001 Prey, since they have almost no similarities other than aliens and space. Maybe the Mimic ability is like the Spirit ability, where you can use it to get to areas you originally couldn't?

Never heard of this game until about a month ago and just finished it, I was blown away. You can tell a lot of effort went into it, I don’t know whether it was advertised poorly or i was just living under a rock back in 2017. Really liked this song too, the melody make me think of The Zephyr Song by RHCP.

Just finished the game for the second time its awesome . plus great soundtrack
