Ok, super exciting news...I'm going to a three night retreat/crop!
BUT WHAT ON EARTH DO I TAKE!?!
I searched the web and found some tips so thought I'd film a little (actually, super long lol) vid with an overview of what I'm taking.
Stay tuned for the reflection tips at the end of the vid once I returned from the crop...I forgot two MAJORLY IMPORTANT things :P

I'm so with you on watching your scrappy things. Sitting at my desk and looking at all those pretty goodies is so awesome. I love it and am glad I'm not alone with it. Thank you for sharing your packingprocess!

Fun to watch you pack for the 3 day crop, I've done this many a time. I'm heading to one in March for 5 days and 1 day as well! I've perfected my packing too, I only take kits in 4 zippered 3 ring binder Generation Scrapfolio bags. Everything is cut, purchased and designed for each kit with a hand sketch of the LO to create. I've been doing this for nearly 13yrs and people always ask me how I'm able to get so much done, with so little then I explain my system. I've got to learn how to video one day so I can share the info. I'm so glad you had a blast! Crops are so much fun! You'll have to join us in the US one day we really know how to have a good time at ours.

I just love to watch your videos! I love you're style and tips...and I especially liked in this video when you said "you know you're a scrapbook nerd when you can just look at things in containers and not do anything with them..."

Scrap Nerds Unite! This is the best retreat video I have ever seen. You had me giggling out loud. I hope you enjoyed your retreat.
Getting ready for a 3 day crop. Always hoping to find tips from a light packer. That would not be this video:) Have learned that taking a lot is not profitable-takes too long to pack, unpack, and repack at the end. Plus I just start running out of room as everything explodes at the crop.
Blanket and hot water bottle-good ideas!
Last crop I had white cardstock but not off white. Was able to use the backs of some paper for that.
I always bring a desk lamp with me as lighting can be terrible, especially at night. I like to scrap standing up so I bring bed risers to lift my table to a good height. going to crop next weekend with some girlfriends and have been debating whether to bring my rascog cart. will most likely do just to keep things close at hand. chocolates are a must as is adult beverage for the evenings. thanks for sharing the video. had some great ideas.

Loved the sound effect for the water sprayer lol. I've never been to a craft retreat but it sounds amazing.

I have that exact little blue fabric tote. I use it to carry my supplies to work for lunchbreak art. It was a fabulous investment.
Awesome pack, I was wondering if took your cardstock! 😊 our table mates always bring nibbles to snack on too! Glad you had fun.
Fun to watch even though I don't scrap, I have a project life and a few albums nothing much but I understand the draw.

this was a fun watch... you need a ScrapRack - packing would already be done for you
I would throw in some extra blades for your trimmer, a to go mug if you like to have water or coffee by your work area, a light because sometimes the lighting in the venues suck especially at night. Maybe some baby wipes for inky fingers or to even clean your stamps with. I would also throw in a power bar in case outlets are at a minimum and I always bring packing tape to tape my cords down so people aren't tripping over them. I always pack some snacks, lip balm and hand lotion because sometimes I get hungry in between meals, my lips get dry because the building is too hot and I like to keep lotion for my hands after handling paper all day. Have fun and looking forward to seeing all your layouts/projects when you get back!
+canadianscrappergirl Very good advice on the lip balm and hand lotion. Seems like I can be at a crop for just 1 hour in a hotel and my skin starts drying up and getting cut:( I take bandaids too.

I've done a similar video! I was having back surgery in another state and would be there for a least a week. I took an Iris container and it actually fit quite a bit :) I didn't take as much as I would for something like a 3 night crop since I wasn't going to be feeling well but I did use a bit.

I'm shocked you've never been to an overnight crop. That's my jam! I go at least twice a year for scrap weekends. I know this video is old but how was it?? did you post videos of what you worked on??

Just wondering if you'd be willing to do a video on what to pack for a crop if you need to fly to get to your destination? I live in Broome and I'm catching up with friends just outside of Perth so I need to fly down (November). 23kgs for scrap stuff and clothes, etc. Bit of challenge.
I feel ya about being able to just look at embellishments for hours.

What is that awesome cart you used? I think you called it Russie Cart?
It's a Raskog from Ikea. Other stores have started carrying something similar but I don't how well they are made compared to the Raskog.

You are so stinking adorable. I could watch your videos if you just sat and talked about weeds growing, lol. I would suggest NOT taking your albums. There are too many things that can go wrong and they could get ruined. Try to number or find some sort of system for the order of your photos that you are concerned about in your wedding albums. It's easier to not pack as much, also. :) I do about 8 weekend crops a year, I have perfected packing light :)
Pardon my ignorance of Australian electrical, but along with the extension cord, take a surge protector strip if you guys have those. You have a lot of electric tools. Also, in your toiletries make sure you have nasal spray and eye drops. It is ALWAYS dry, especially in winter!

And this is why I don't go to crops...I'd spend more time packing than would end up being worth it and I can guarantee I'd get there and still not have what I need
