    This is a Masterpiece! Just put Good headphones and turn on volume and turn off the lights and close your eyes! Music can go to the deepest organs of your body and I don´t know much masterpieces that reach those points! :) I have an honour to meet Arvo Pärt few times, the Peace himself...

    This is possibly the best recording of this sublime work. Everything about it is perfect; the ambience, the sensitivity and sense of occasion. Wonderful, magisterial music. Thank you for posting this.

    Ive listen to this hundreds of times. THIS recording. I first heard it in 1993 or 94 in a record store. Its the only thing that ever made me question my atheism. Every time I hear it, I hear it differently. There are a hundred small poems in this that shift depending on , I guess, how I am that particular moment. When I bought it , I couldn't listen to anything else for 6 months. Its been thirty years and THIS recording still has that same power.

      The first time I heard it, I was working my shift in a boiler room within a prison. I was incarcerated. I had been for eight years already. I was listening to the classical music station going about my work when they played this full recording. I literally stopped what I was doing, sat as close to the radio as I could, and cried through the entire piece. This is one of the most beautiful works of music that I've heard in my entire life.

      I also discovered this in 1993 and played CD umpteen zillion times. I've never known what the vocalists were saying, and don't really care that much. For me it is the music that I attach to, I don't know what the message is that's being delivered by those glorious choir members. Every time I play this I feel something different. It is haunting, magical and glorious to my ears. The sounds are so ethereal. I NEVER tire of this recording

    Te deum is the solemn hymn of praise we sing at vows, election of abbot, final ritual for Pentecost…in the Benedictine order…it’s highest praise of God!

      Nothing special.
      It is a reitertion on mediavial composers material , 600 hundred yera ago. Like anything he has done. And... yeah Pärt is a superchristian in that sense. The greatness of Arvo Pärt is that he not boring .

    Te Deum laudamus: te Dominum confitemur.
    Te, aeternum Patrem, omnis terra veneratur.
    Tibi omnes Angeli, tibi caeli et universae Potestates,
    Tibi Cherubim et Seraphim incessabili voce proclamant:
    Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus Dominus Deus Sabaoth.
    Pleni sunt caeli et terra maiestatis gloriae tuae.
    Te gloriosus Apostolorum chorus;
    Te Prophetarum laudabilis numerus;
    Te Martyrum candidatus laudat exercitus.
    Te per orbem terrarum sancta confitetur Ecclesia:
    Patrem immensae maiestatis,
    Venerandum tuum verum et unicum Filium,
    Sanctum quoque Paraclitum Spiritum.
    Tu rex gloriae, Christe,
    Tu Patris sempiternus es Filius.
    Tu ad liberandum suscepturus hominem non horruisti virginis uterum.
    Tu devicto mortis aculeo aperuisti credentibus regna caelorum.
    Tu ad dexteram Dei sedes, in gloria Patris.
    Iudex crederis esse venturus.
    Te ergo quaesumus, tuis famulis subveni, quos pretioso sanguine redemisti!
    Aeterna fac cum Sanctis tuis in gloria numerari!
    Salvum fac populum tuum, Domine, et benedic hereditati tuae!
    Et rege eos, et extolle illos usque in aeternum!
    Per singulos dies benedicimus te
    Et laudamus nomen tuum in saeculum et in saeculum saeculi.
    Dignare, Domine, die isto sine peccato nos custodire!
    Miserere nostri, Domine, miserere nostri!
    Fiat misericordia tua, Domine, super nos, quemadmodum speravimus in te!
    In te, Domine, speravi: non confundar in aeternum. Amen. Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus.

      Translation courtesy of Google Translate:
      We praise you, Lord.
      You, Eternal Father, everyone worships.
      All the angels, the heavens and all Powers;
      Cherubim and Seraphim cry out:
      Holy, Holy is the Lord of Hosts.
      Heaven and earth glory.
      The glorious choir;
      Prophets praise;
      Martyrs praise.
      Throughout the world the holy Church;
      Father of infinite Majesty
      Your true and only Son;
      Also the Holy Ghost: the Comforter.
      Thou art the King of glory, O Christ,
      You are the eternal Son.
      Upon yourself to deliver man: didst not abhor the Virgin 's womb.
      Are the sting of death and opened the kingdom of heaven.
      You are at the right hand of God the Father.
      We believe it is coming.
      Therefore we ask you help your people, those precious blood!
      Make them will be numbered!
      Save your people, Lord, and bless you!
      Govern them and lift them up!
      Every day I thank you
      We praise your name for ever and ever.
      Grant, O Lord, this day to keep us!
      O Lord, have mercy!
      Have mercy, Lord, upon us as our trust in you!
      In thee, O Lord, I have hoped for eternity. Amen. Holy, Holy, Holy.

    I heard last time a interpretate of Austrian Phillharmonikzer, and all the Eterna Record records with tho' hymn.
    But nowhere's compare with it. OK, had'it be equalize aparting with arpeggiophonism of Wagner.

    Te Deum means "For You"
    Meaning a godlike celestial figure in the sky.

      Not quite. The full line is "Te Deum Laudamus," which translated means "You, O God, we praise."
