Thank you so much. I'm 63 and have been listening to classical music since I was 14 years old. I always made a point to listen to new composers and people not part of the standard offering, however, I never heard of Alvo Part until recently and what was posted on TH-cam. The music is just so profound and this is such a blessing to run into at this point in my life or anyone at any time in their life. Thank you for posting this.
@@eottoe2001 The music of Arvo Part is the most deeply soul-soothing and most greatly mood-heightening music on the Earth. His music can even heal the over-worried mind and the soul ,which is overburdened by heavy sorrow. I am deeply beholden to him ,for, without his music I will be endlessly worried in this so unsettling ,mad world in which we live.
Sounds like a re-issue of the ethereal album "Beatus". Excellent compositions by Arvo Pärt and beautifully rendered by Tonu Kaljuste's conducting. A win-win-win combination!
I do not understand why 1935 here? It is his birth year. Choral works must have been composed long after. Normally year in braces corresponds to the compositions release year. I could not find any other Arvo Pärts to warrant disambiguation.
My sweet cousin is dying in the hospital. I reach for this music while her soul is in between worlds. May God be merciful. My face is of full of tears.
I absolutely love his music, so evocative. In the mid 90s I worked in the classical section of virgin megastore as a young girl and I wasn't aware until after, that I served him. He was extremely warm and friendly, totally humble and down to earth.
@tomonetruth Think it was a Spice girls album and a Billy Ray cyrus cd....🤣.....sorry no jungle disappointingly. I cannot sadly remember but a very humble man 🙏
I LOVE Spiegel im Spiegel but hadn't realized that Pärt composed it. This is one of the most comforting compositions my husband and I have ever enjoyed on our local classical radio station.
He is Orthodox Christian, as his wife of some 60 years who was a jew but now is deeply Christian and a profound inspiration to her husband, "God"s composer some have said. They were both Christian during the dark communist times
I find that notes stimulate bit it is the space between the notes where we experience our feelings, our life. Arvo Pärt takes me to these places. Thank you.
…such beautiful & haunting harmonies, music which produces magical visuals & tranquil images plus sends a ray of emotional tension throughout the body. This is my first time hearing this composer. Thank you for sharing such a powerful piece of music. - twin dragon 🤓🏞🎶🏓🌎👍
Back in the early 1980s Connecticut Public Radio had an overnight classical program called "Music Through the Night," locally produced so not the later APR one, and I can't remember who the host was unfortunately but he played a lot of Arvo Part. I don't think I've heard any since then!
I'm enjoying this music very much. Thank you. But am I the only person who can't quite read all of the explanations fast enough? I thought I was a fast reader, but my goodness...👀 I know little about this gentleman's music and am intrigued. It seems to have elements of ancient chant that reach new depths within because of its contemporary elements.
@TH-cam sucks! This beautiful music is interrupted by silly commercials every two minutes. @TH-cam is a greedy monster. I look forward to their competitors' launching a better platform.
Why people say wow for the music above? Oh, yes, I liked it so much that I've 3 copies of it. People, try, to find and buy Arvo Part: Organ Music, from Daniel Justin, Thomas Leech and Benjamin Saunders. The choral is more open, the organ is overload, full of Bass. This cd, made from Brilliant Classics, has a very well done choral with organ, and to ones who have a very big Stereo System or very Power Tower Speakers: track number 13. That track is under 20Hz, and if you have good ears not bother with your neighbors, because the bass explode 0.4 mile away. So, your near neighbors will not complaint. And the far away neighbors will not no where the sound is coming... I love both interpretations, but for a very big Stereo Sound, like mine, I prefer the Brilliant Classics, because I repeat (automatically) the track 13 for 1 or 2 hours...
Jeremy Soule? Pff, Arvo Part goes fantastic with Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim... NOT Starfield, though. The only thing that goes well with Starfield is Disappointment, and only after about 5 hours.

Pärt is vastly over+rated. I detest having to play his music live, or record it. Really repetitive, and boring.
you're boring
That’s what Georgian chants are. They are not for everybody’s taste, but for many this music is very spiritual, soul cleansing. Like deep breath.
