Nobody thinks it will happen to them but here's how easy it is to end up in a "Survival Situation". I have a coworker who was taking the simplest of strolls through the woods when he came across a log stretched across the trail. Like the rest of us he stepped over the log without even thinking about it but as his foot planted on the other side his leg crumbled and he ended up in a heap in the middle of the trail. Somehow as he lay there with a severely broken leg. he was lucky enough to be able to call for help on his cell phone. It's just that easy for a good day to go bad. Can't wait to watch your series.

It is just that easy and its usually simple things, like having a mobile phone or not that can turn something major into something relatively trivial.

I'm really looking forward to your new series! Now I live on an island and unless I fall into the sea or go outside in a typhoon, in a 'possible daily life survival situation' the things I might need are pretty much the same as in the UK.

I like your sensible approach to this subject. I live in the state of Connecticut in the US and I have been involved in search and rescue in the past. I would say that the worst case scenario for my area is that you would be lost overnight if you are extremely unfortunate. That would require your phone battery to die and your absence to go unnoticed. When I venture out I prepare to be "lost" overnight. The equipment I need to survive such an event can fit in a bum bag.

I always think you have to be sensible about this, in most cases it is going to be short term unless you live or visit somewhere really wild. That said, heat and cold can be a killer here if you are not prepared.

Good video bro. When I go hunting I assume that I will be stuck overnight in bad weather. All my survival gear is based on that scenario. I remember reading about a poor elderly lady up in the moors died of hypothermia in the mist when her dog ran away from her parked car. 🇬🇧 🇳🇿

So easy to get lost like that. Funny story is I also got lost in fog when I was helping out with a scout camp. I was only going to the toilet at the campsite and back again. That could have been embarrassing but I did get back on my own eventually!

Moatly correct i would include a map and compass for the area i know how to use it.. water and food for atleast 72 hrs.
A form of shelter tarp, blanket tent ponxho, etc
    Spare dry clorhes, and washinfkit.
Atleast 2 litres in metal containers not plastic so you can have a brew. Away to make fire and tinder.
Mobile phones dont work in somearea especially costal and mountainious regions.

I go over kit in a separate video. Food and water for 72 hours, do you carry that in the UK? That would be around 6kg just for the water alone!

@@kurtsteiner8384 On a day walk? I'm just trying to think about why you might need 3 days worth of food and water on a 1 day walk. Or is that more of when you are planning to be out for a few days?

Thanks, its a Helikon-tex Pilgrim, absolutely love it. I've had it coming up to a year now and it really comes into its own Autumn, Winter and Spring.
