Your colors are mesmerizing! I love the design and your colors are slaying it! I’m finishing clue 3 , just a few more wedges… I ditched the marker pretty quickly, somehow it was intuitive knitting for me. I sometimes mess up knitting the wrong wedge sequence for the wrong color but I notice it pretty quickly so no major f ups 😅Can’t wait for clue 4 🎉
I’m glad it was intuitive for you! I knew it had to be for someone. It took a lot of concentration but I got it done. 4 more days until the final clue 🤯
I hope so too! No matter what I’m committed to making my shawl as big as I can and using up the majority of my main color yarn. Give us something fun and interesting Stephen!!!
I agree! this year's MKAL was more video-based (aka "as shown in the video" instructions) and, if the person does not watch the video for various reasons, they might not fully understand the clue.
I do enjoy watching the videos but I avoid them if possible until I know what it’s going to look like. Definitely not helpful when you’re trying to figure it out. Love and learn I guess. Maybe next year I won’t worry about spoilers 🤷🏻♀️
I think we are going to pick up stitches along the icord edge on section 8 for clue 4. 😅 I had a hard time with this clue. I messed up a few times, and I was always second guessing myself. I did end the clue with 7 sts instead of 6, but that was an easy fix. I had to use the stitch marker, and keep track of my rows. It was a pain, but I love the way it looks!
I think you could be right about that. I just can’t picture the final shape. Having one extra stitch is no big deal at all. I was sure my count was going to be way off but somehow I ended up with what I was supposed to have. Thankfully I realized early on that I was messing up. It would be heartbreaking to reach the end and realize it then.
still working on my clue 2, have the brioche sections done, just need my bubble stripe and then I can work on the wedges. won't be keeping up, have lots of other things to do around the house this month!
Your shawl is beautiful! I am still working on clue 1, in between working on a few other projects. I haven’t loved the working on the crescents and wedges. Constantly moving the stitch marker is not fun, and I have so many ends. Hopefully the brioche will be better (as long as I don’t make a mistake!).
It’s so interesting which parts resonate with us and which parts definitely do not 🤣 Be sure to check out that video I have linked for how to fix brioche mistakes if you do come across one.
Thank you! It was a slog for me too but the quicker it’s done the sooner you don’t have to think about it anymore 🤣 That’s just my philosophy for most things I don’t enjoy though.
I agree! I can’t even imagine. Do I have that much yarn? I keep entertaining the idea that whatever it is, I’d beyond my creativity to think of. I sure hope I’m right!
You are quick it’s looking great! I am only halfway and I’m bored as well and just want this stage done. I don’t think the wedges are the top as it slants out from the semi circles to the wedges so I think they’re the bottom. I think we may be knitting in towards the neck from the semi circles but it wouldn’t surprise me to have an extra outer border from the wedges
Just knit, knit, knit and it’ll be done before you know it! Listening to an audio book or a podcast can help distract you from thinking about the project too much. I’m curious to see if your prediction is right!
I had the same issue closing the short row gap. I don’t watch unless I need to, so when it looked weird, I went and watched. Honestly, the pattern needs to say how to resolve.
Love it! So fun to follow along.
Thank you! I’m so glad you’re enjoying seeing my process.
Your shawl looks beautiful. Love your colors.
Thank you 🤗
SO PRETTY!! I can't wait to see what Clue 4 will bring!
Thank you 🤗 Me too! Stephen is great with the suspense.
Love your mkal colors!
Thank you 🥰
I love how the variegation of your blue/purple looks in those wedges. 💜💙
Thank you! I had no idea when I picked it how it would turn out but I agree, it’s looking good!
Yours shawl is beautiful. I like clue 3. It is very meditating for me. I have written the triangle out, for me it is just easier to follow.
I think that might have been a better option for me too. I’ll try to remember that next time.
Your shawl is looking good, Shauna. Those colors are gorgeous together.
Thank you! I’m so happy they are working well together 🤗
It looks so good! I’m looking forward to how Clue 4 works out for you!
Thank you! That makes two of us 🤣

It’s beautiful! I’d do the same thing, power through even though it’s boring 😂 I hope clue 4 is more fun!

There’s no shame in going your own pace. In the end you’ll have a beautiful shawl to keep you warm this winter! Happy knitting!

Great job! Loving your colors. You're are motivating me too finish Clue 3 faster now, it is getting easier. I think I'm just sick of my colors lol!

Hi Shauna. It looks really good!! It seems to me that you will need to do a lot of knitting on clue 4 to bring it into a shawl shape.
I agree! I can’t even imagine. Do I have that much yarn? I keep entertaining the idea that whatever it is, I’d beyond my creativity to think of. I sure hope I’m right!
Beautiful! I have way too much going on as I am still back on clue 2. But I am ok with that. :)
Thank you! Knitting at your own speed is totally fine. You’ll have a beautiful shawl whenever you’re done.

I’m glad I’m not alone but sorry you had to deal with that. I agree that it should be more clear.
Very preety
Thank you!
