So pleased that I decided to join in this year. I’m enjoying every stitch. Thank you Stephen, pattern testers, tech editors, yarn dyers, and everyone else involved in making this mkal happen, but mainly thank you to everyone in the knitting community that come together to be in it together escaping into creative learning and making art to wear.😊
Thank you for the adventure. At 63 i'm not sure I would pic a pattern with this much complexity on my own. You push me each year to get out of my comfort zone and sharpen those concentration brainy connectors LOL. Thank you for sharing your artistic journey with us, greatly appreciated.
I'm loving the knitting this year. My guess is that we have been knitting on the lower part of the shawl. The "top" does not have an icord so I think we are going to pick up on that edge and build the upper sections. Can't wait to find out.
I am really enjoying these wedges. I admit that I found clue 1 a bit tedious and then clue 2 was tricky because I hate knitting brioche ( although I love the texture). I stuck with it because your shawls are always lovely. Now I am having FUN again. Thank you for another fascinating knit.
I was thinking more triangles, doubled in size, for 2 rows to finish, but now rethinking - we’ll pick up from the “top” of the semicircles. I-cord doesn’t lie!
Every week you surprise me more and more. And i came from the "thunderstorm" to a "ocean after storm" with my blue and grey colours for this shawl. Go slowy but work in progress. What comes next: we have i Cord to the sides and on top but no i Cord as we start clue 1..... 🤔
This clue gave me Shawlography bind off nightmares! I was doing so well with my Shawlography and my bind off took ages and so this brought back those traumas! However, I have loved this shawl and all set for tomorrow’s clue. Also, thank you for the birthday discount - happy birthday btw! - I bought your brioche course as I managed to do the brioche option this year and have been inspired to learn more!
Happy birthday!!🎁🎊🎂 thank you for helping me save some money. I got 5 patterns and the brioche workshop. That was money well spent. Anyways Happy Birthday and thank you
Enjoyed the first two clues, not thrilled with this third one though 😔🤫. Hoping for a blazing, enjoyable ride on the fourth 🤭. And happy birthday 🎊 🎉 to you, Stephen. 😊
Steven I wish you had included a bobble on the contrast short row wedge. I’m not smart enough to figure out how but I think it would have been great and add to your groovy theme ?
I cannot imagine a growing after the "fans" of clue3. But, Twists and Turns knitted beyond the i-cord... So, we'll see on this side. What my imagination tells me from the beginning, is a kind of cowl on the neck side, that would lovingly hug my neck, of that I could make a knot to make this hug ! I love capellets... Anyway, thanks for this clue3 so fun to knit, variation of colours and stitches. I have introduced a grey MC to my dk and cl blues, so there will be no yarn chicken with the largest version, which I may choose, I love largissimo shawls ! Very grateful for these 3 clues and... I'm knitting to the exciting expectation of last clue 4.
Could you please help me: I have started clue 3, but I noticed that there are only 2 wedges on my first CC pattern repeat. I have already completed 5 wedge blocks… Do I have to redo everything or is it ok if I leave it as is? And in this case will there be a problem afterwards? Or a solution to it? Many thanks in advance
It looks great! Would it be possible to use those glues and knit the shawl later? Will the description still be available to buy? My friend is knitting with all if you now and it looks very fun, I an thinking of knitting one but a bit later and slower probably. :))
You can buy the pattern now to knit later, or you will most likely to be able to buy it later also - that has happened with the other MKAL shawls. As far as I know, the videos stay up on TH-cam, even after the 'official' MKAL time is over

2 weeks behind and loving the steep learning curve. Brioche, unpick, brioche, unpick repeat. Now to do clue 3, another learning experience

Having so much fun, on clue three! My mom and I have been having mkal knitting parties 🥳 Thank you! Thrilled with how creative this shawl is ❤

You are a Genius of knit for me im in the hospital and this shawl its a super pleasure for me thanks for ever ❤
Can‘t wait to start clue 3, it looks sooo good! 😱😍 I‘m having so much fun knitting this mystery shawl, such a cool design! 😀
My first Westknit and it’s brought joy back into my knitting, already got the wool for the Hyberknit and socks.
So happy to hear that!
Love it. I've been knitting for nearly 60 years and am still learning new techniques. TY x
So glad you are having fun!
I do not know how you calculated the number of stitches from all these wedges to finally meet together at the end. Amazing design! Brilliant!
The beauty of garter stitch geometry 😊

I agree! I’ve been waiting to see what we do with that slip selvage since the beginning!
Stephen, you are a genius!!!
Beautiful! I can’t wait to see the final clue.
Love it! I was hoping we'd go with an edge like this! ❤

Me encanta el chal, lo encuentro muy original y pronto quiero empezar la pista 3.
Felicitaciones Stephen por lo creativo que es en sus diseños!!!!
Great pattern, loving this so much… as for my guess for next week…I’m seeing arched semi circles dangling off the triangles. It could happen. 😮
Oh wow🎉🎉🎉this is absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤❤can’t wait to start clue3❤❤
Yay! Thank you!
I love this design. Such a fun & beautiful MKAL. You're such a genius. Can't wait to begin clue 4.

looks fantastic, but I haven't finished clue 1 yet
Me either, but we have all this to look forward to!
I have just finished my first 3 semi's.
Still on clue 1 too but love it ❤
Me neither. Had a lot of life stuff going on. I have more free time in the next two weeks. My goal is always to finish by the end of November.
Youre not alone❤
What great instructions!
Still on clue 2 😊
It looks beautiful, i'm so excited for next week! Finish clue 2 today, tomorrow at the latest ... I am so excited! :D
I think it continues above at CLue 1 :o
All done and ready for clue 4
OMG, Totes LOVING!!!!
Steven I wish you had included a bobble on the contrast short row wedge. I’m not smart enough to figure out how but I think it would have been great and add to your groovy theme ?
Amazing!
Don’t know why I ended up with 23 MC stripes and 22 CC stripes 😂 hope it doesn’t affect next clue 😅
Hope there will be more circles to it ....
Wow! Now kind of regretting making section 2 blocks of colour, it looks like bigger versions of todays clue haha
I can see mini pompoms at the pointy tip of the scallops.
Wow!
Loving every stitch! What’s this short row called? I’ve only ever done German short rows and W&T before Xx
Another lovely shawl. .
What is the pattern for the sweater you wear in the videoer ? ❤
Thank you! That is the Briornate Sweater. www.westknits.com/products/briornate-sweater?_pos=2&_psq=briornate&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Where to for Clue 4??? maybe a flared brioche band or a mohair dare ruffle edge??? 😊
still on clue 2 but i'll get to this soon!!
No worries! Embrace your own pace.
I must have done something wrong because I’m ending with a CC wedge and I’m short a MC wedge???
