Thnks, Jordan. A very informative video. My Co3 just arrived this morning and it is on charge now. Very excited. My slight problem was that the video and audio were slightly out-of-synch on my desktop. So Itried it on my iPad and the synching was perfect - so it was my fault! More tips and tricks please.
This may not be your fault. Check TH-cam for other videos detailing out of sync audio.

Can anyone out there speak to low-light performance? Say sunset or twilight or around a campfire? I do camping and backpacking stuff for another of my channels and having something this small, this powerful, and this versatile would be amazing. I could carry TWO of these and still be as light or lighter as what I'm using now. Thanks in advance for any info. ❤

I've had several GoPros since the Hero 3 but over the last few years switched over to all my action cams to Insta360 ones.... One R with 1" mod, the Go2, and the One X3.... I loved the Hero Session back in the day, and the Go2 was pretty close in concept to it. For those wondering.... I have had much better luck with Insta360 app vs the various GoPro apps. I normally edit on a PC but when I need to transfer to my Google Pixel phone, I never have a problem with wireless transfer to the Insta360 app. I will probably sell my Go2 to a friend and pick up the Go3. One accessory that I hope the make is the USB power mount. It's a small mount for the Go2 that allowed you to power the camera with a usb C cable. I used it on the handlebars of my bike for long ride videos and hyperlapses. The power mount was light and very low profile... I hope they make a similar one for the Go3, so I can tuck the Action Pod safely in my pocket or frame bag while keeping my Go3 powered up with a small usb battery bank.
quality is real shit though, worse than my gopro 5. cant justify this loss in quality for some size gain

Great review! Hey I just have a question for you if you can help me. I noticed that when I have the Go App open, and the Go unattached from the doc, it won’t let me start recording when using the physical button on the Go. It will let me hit the record button on the app however. When I try on the go by itself, nothing happens. Do you know why this is? Thank you!

It depends on which amount of storage you choose to buy. With 64GB of internal storage, you can record about 2.75 hours at 2.7k.
Hi Jordan, thanks for your time ! I have a key question : do you absolutely need to have an activation done with a smartphone ? Isn't it possible to activate it with a computer ? I just have a Jurassic Park old cell phone with no possible "app" installation... Lol.

Hi, I’m planing to build a POV 360 rig around the head, I think this could be a good camera for that, it’s relatively flat and tiny, the rig building is no mayor problem as I have a 3D printer and I already have my head scanned and measured, I also use a video stitching software, the question is, how can I control 10 or 12 cameras simultaneously? TIA

Great Video! I will be editing with iOS so files will have to be transferred wireless. I heard the old GO2 had ridiculous slow transfer speeds. What was your experience with the GO3?
Thank you! The transfer speeds have not seemed too slow for me so far, although I find it's quickest to edit what I want while it's still on the card and save my edits on the spot. Then I don't have to take up my phone's storage with a bunch of files that I don't want.
Do you allow the use of live broadcast on Facebook or TH-cam outside the home on the phone?
Is there a way to transfer camera files to an ssd or sd card with the iphone?
Can I use this to take a photo or just video? Thanks!
Will the book be available in a Print version as I don't have a kindle?? Also, it would be helpful if you would put direct links above to the accessories you are using such as the selfie or stick you are using to hold the camera at 4:51, and the camera attachment to the stick at 7:44. Everything else is great and has really helped me get started with my new Insta360 Go 3.

Insta360 should consider to release ada power bank module that can be attach to the camera so can add recording time instantly…but please make the module as little as the camera so will not make it too big n heavy
Tried to order your book but Amazon says it is not available. Do you know when it mught become available?
The Go 2 has a short and long vibration so i know when it starts and stops. Does the Go 3 not not have the haptic vibration within the camera (i'm talking about only the camera and not the action pod)? I have "vibration" selected in my settings and only the a blue light comes on when i press it... i can't tell when i recording and i don't want to use the pod to verify every time.

I just got the camera and in the back of the small camera is a red sticker covering the charging area letting you know the surface can get hot. Is it ok to remove this red sticker?
I make POV city running videos and have been using a GoPro setup which works but is bulky and quite conspicuous.
Wondering how the magnetic pendant mount holds up for running? It would be perfect for my use case if the magnetic connection is dependable
The magnetic pendant is pretty strong and I think it would be suitable for running, especially if your clothing is not too thick or loose.
the camera and the magnetic pendant would work for your running videos... IF.... your clothing isn't loose. However, if you run with a hydration pack or belt, using the easy clip may be a better mounting option.
Hi Jordan! New sub here. Just received my new Insta360 Go3 (64 gigs) and discovered your channel all in the same day! Quick question--you mentioned the SD card is inside the camera--can you go over how to switch it out for a new one when full or do you advise to transfer what you filmed to another device or the app, and go from there. Thanks!
Great to hear that you found me and thanks for the sub! The GO 3 has internal storage so it can't be replaced. When the storage is full or you are ready to transfer files, you can transfer files to a phone or computer.
On a phone, connect to the Insta360 App to edit or download the files. You can also use a USB-C cable on an Android phone to transfer files.
On a computer, when you connect the Action Pod (with the camera in it) using a USB Cable, power it on, select U-Disk on the touch screen, and the camera will show up as a drive. You can then transfer files over to your computer.

Excellent tutorial. The main obstacle for me is the lack of an actual memory card. I think I'll stay with GoPro Hero 10.
Yes, if you are recording a lot of footage, that may be a deal breaker because you are limited to the internal storage.
@@JordanHetrick In my opinion, the memory capacity based on memory chip increases the final price of the product.I estimate that the next model will have a memory card, therefore will be cheaper. I hope also that next model will have a higher resolution of 4k. (Although the 4K sensor will probably run at higher temperature).

I'm guessing the Action Pod does not have an SD card slot which can be used to transfer the videos. It would be awesome to be able to transfer files to an sd card out in the field and then continue filming.
You guessed correctly. The only memory is built into the camera module and is not expandable

Hi, Thanks for the message and your interest! Unfortunately, the GO3 book won't be available for some time still. Sorry to hear that you bought the wrong book. You could use some of the X3 principles towards the GO3, but it would be much more beneficial to you to have the GO3 book. Since the X3 records in 360 spherical video, a lot of the content is geared towards that type of footage and specific mounting techniques for a 360 camera. I used camera for first time out cycling in sunny weather and the video was washed out by the sun. What did I do wrong or how can I correct this? It was in video mode.

Is there an overheating issue for long recording sessions, either for the camera alone or when mounted inside the action pod?
From my testing, I haven't run into any overheating problems. I've filmed continuously on the camera alone until it ran out of battery and didn't have any issues. I am going to put it in the hottest place I can find to see if I can get it to overheat. If I experience any different results, I will let you know.
I recorded several long clips (19 mins and 30 mins) when it was 97 degrees here in Tennessee. Zero issue with heat and the recordings look great. My issue is trying to get them off the device so I can edit. 😂
Can the camera record when the action pod is connected to a USB-C charger (pass-through in GoPro terminology)?

Hold on a minute! Must I have a smart phone to make this thing work? I just ordered one of these cameras from Amazon this morning and I don't own a smart phone. All I have is a laptop. What does "activate the camera" mean? Did I make a mistake?
I'm in the same situation as you. I moved out from having smartphone. I just received it today and I'm like whaaat O_o
How did you end up doing it? asking someone else with a smartphone to connect to it?
I sorta dodged a bullet! I asked my techie neighbor to help me activate this thing on my laptop. The poor guy worked for an hour and a half, trying every trick he knew, and finally succeeded. There's no way in hell I could have done it by myself! This camera and it's app are much too complicated for an old guy like me. If I'd known beforehand, I wouldn't have ordered it. However, I must say it takes beautiful pics and videos.@@rumblepack3
