As an introvert , the subtle and discreet mounting options of Go3 is perfect for me. No visible body or head straps. And as a hiker, even a simple video clip is very tiring and such a hassle when you have multiple accessories on you like trekking poles, sunglass, a hat, earphones, water bladder and custom strapped backpack, a lightweight and simple magnetic clip is a huge relief. I don't need a super high resolution, as long as it is still clear in computer monitors since I won't be projecting the videos in large screen projectors. My only downside is the built in memory ( I didn't know action cameras are huge on file size! 1 minute clip is like 1GB) and the fragility of the action pod. I would prefer a more rugged housing without additional cost for protection.

Hey, 1 minute clip is nowhere near 1GB in size on these or much any other action camera. Even filming at 4k, it's nowhere near that amount so you're good to go with this one.
@@rambledogs2012 I just checked and my 4minute video is at 1.5gb already. Maybe its not as near 1bg/min but it sure is still huge. I mean you could already watch a full length HD movie with that much capacity! If you're travelling in a multi-day trip using a single Go3 which I will, you're definitely going to transfer it somewhere else to unload the data, whereas in other action cameras, you can swap multiple memory card with you.
@@craftingday352 ok, well I bought one yesterday as currently on hols in Scotland. I've been filming most of the morning and mid afternoon (2.7K @ 30fps) and got a good hour or so of footage and still have 2.32 hrs left of recording (used 9.2GB). That's with 64GB which in reality is around 59.6GB after firmware.
Not sure what you're doing filming wise and settings but yours is way off the mark, dude.
The irony is that most viewed videos are review about how do different cameras perform. No one watches videos people make with those cameras about their life, their voyages or whatever. Similar with drones. hundreds of thousands of views how to use drones, but almost no one watches the actual scenery vids of whatever footage made on purpose with those drones.

Create Thumbs/titles/descriptions that actually work.
I have a channel where I use drone, 360, action cams, pro gear, etc. People watch when you give them a reason to watch. No one wants to watch boring ass badly packaged content. These cameras are tools, like all tools you have to learn to use them not only technically but effectively.
Almost like multimillion dollar companies have a bigger budget for marketing than indivoduals or something 😂

So I'm glad I found yours because it's an actual review not just an ad. Unfortunately for me I'm just day dreaming right now but if I wasn't this would be the one I think... just for versatility alone (arguably the most important part of an action camera)

6:12 important message about viewer satisfaction. The satisfaction of thousands seeing remarkable reframed images shown at 1080p, versus nobody seeing footage you DIDN'T capture, because you didn't want to deal with your hefty, complex Sony in some other special moment.

*THANK YOU, It's funny how people think cause its an Action Camera that it must be an Action Camera it's not, but something different and there's SOOOO man y different Applications you can use this for. I've had mine for about a week an a Half and I love it. Accessories that come with it work just fine and the neck mount is pretty awesome.*

It does look great…but I really like the smaller form factor of my Go2. It’s just so easy to slip it in a pocket…True it does overheat, but I rarely shoot clips of more than three or four minutes. ..But..I’d like to checkout a Go 3 in the flesh sometime.

What is your mount that you use on your bike for the caméra ?
The mini Action Cam I didn't know existed till recently.
I notice so many reviewers of action cameras always talking about this cam records in 5.7k, this one 4k, etc. Then most of the time when I watch non-reviewers using the various cameras and posting to TH-cam more often than not they are posted at 1080p. Yes I understand that a 5.7k/4k offer more info to the downsizing but many record at less than 4k to begin with.
There are videos out there comparing smart phones with different carriers and much of the time when watching TH-cam on a phone (many don't even realize this) they are watching at 720p, sometimes even less. Just had to but my 2 cents in.
After discovering the Go 3 in the last couple days, and researching, watching reviews, etc. I ordered the 128G with 3rd party carrying case to put all the stuff in.
By the way RobHK, nice video a lot of information which help me "pull the trigger" to buy now.

Hello, can it be used outside the home, for a live broadcast on TH-cam or a video call on WhatsApp?
Would love to see a go 3 vs action 2 video. I’m in the market for a small action camera to mount to RC cars, kids bikes etc and wonder if the go 3 is worth the money especially for stabilization/reframing vs the action 2. I don’t really need better resolution than 2.7k

I find the quality to be a tad bit better than the Motorola Razr. I'll be returning this and getting a DJI pocket
My First use would be for hiking. However, I would also use It at home to shoot static shots of my dj console with an overhead view. Taking advantage of its lightwieght and fact that I can create a very fast filming setup.
Would you recommend It for this use as well? Is the video quality good enough under normal lighting conditions?

Honestly I’ve had good luck using the GO3 as a primary travel cam! Size + pendant + hat adapter = it actually gets used! (And secondary camera is the mobile phone we all carry nowadays.)

I recently spent 2 weeks in Mexico with it, its a Game changer for POV shots, you just use the magnet collar and keep going about your life experiencing everything without worrying about framing that much.

I want to use it for motocross, so kind of nice that you showed some motorcycle footage ;) However, i want to record with this camera being rotated horizontally. You can mount it as you want and it will always shoot horizontal, but you can change your vertical and it will always shoot vertical no matter how you mount it

I have question. What's the max FOV compare to GO 2? I own GO 2 and always exceed the FOV up to 120-125 in Studio app where you can see black bars every corner(tbh i actually don't care if they show it coz it's unique) but G0 2 max FOV feels very tight even at action shot. I'm curious how wide/FOV max is GO 3. The GO 3 will be my next action camera unless Action 4 but the concern is the weight on chest mount and helmet mount coming from mountain biking.

Thanks. Now I know not to get this. Which action-camera would you use for a three camera shoot of an interview? I've been using three Galaxy S21 Ultras on monopods with double blue-tooth clip-on mics in the phones' c-ports, and then editing in Davinci, TimeBolt, and then Camtasia. Guests scoff at the camera phones. But I like the lightness of this 3-camera kit I've put together. Action cameras would keep it light. Which action camera would you use for a set-up like this?

$400!! This is very expensive. There are many small mini cams on Amazon for under $200, some with 4K and small monitors and magnet pendants. Do you have any recommendations for a cheap alternative that still has the functionality?

Go 3 has a wider use tho, since the action pod. Also better audio with an extra mic and it doesn’t overheat like the go2 👍
How long does the battery last when you remove it from the housing?
Me and my buddy do 3-4 hour long rides pretty much every weekend and sometimes the most ridiculous things happen. I would love to just have it recording so I can sift through the footage later.
I believe its 45min, and more when dropping down to 1080

As far as go pro just because they say it does everything at the highest resolution doesn’t mean it will or even work witch is why I’m looking at this
I want to start creating video. I don’t do any intense action. Right now I’m thing about getting DJI pocket 3 for quality and Insta360 Go3 for convenience. Do you recommendations if you were starting and were going to start with 2 cams. I may add a drone at some point as well. I also have an iphone 15 pro.

I see you have a number of small water resistant camera. between gopro, insta360 x3, insta360 go 3, dji action 4 or any equivalent camera, which one you find that it has the best video quality when the EIS is used?
because i return my dji action 3 because it used to have soft focus issue.

@@RobHK I used a GoPro attachment and put my iPhone on top of the Mavic 3 last week, but almost had a catastrophe because of the strap I forgot to take off of my iPhone case before lift off. I may post a video about that shortly as an educational post to help others avoid my mistakes! 😳🤦♂️

I always upgrade to newer generations for my cameras. But Sadly, I am not upgrading to 3 from GO 2. The GO3 is much heavier and much less pocktable. At the size of a GoPro, you don't get memory cards, no replaceable batteries and the Action Pod is not even waterproof. The flip screen will break on your first bad landing. I would much prefer an iterated version of the GO2.
The GO series is about the SIZE and WEIGHT. 34% Increase weight on the Camera unit. Real bad!
the only reason why i will get a sports cam is to get a better picture and Video quality that smart phone can offer, if not then i'll use my phone! look at the result.. my phone can do that

You're lucky...Overheating issues are effective on GO2 models ...I am scared to buy a GO camera again 😨😱. At that price that's indecent!
i got both the 64 and 128gb now, non of these have ever overheated tbh. Tested indoors with no form of cooling.

Ya could be. But around 2hrs 30 min is what you get with the 128gb. Not sure how much the go3 itself shoots for since i always put it in the pod between shots

Tbh, all cameras are shit on a motorcycle. So i would recommend an external mic (DJI MIC)
My Go 2 heats up like crazy like after 6-7 minutes of shooting then it shuts down. How long can Go3 shoot without heating up and shut down?

Has anyone tried mounting it INSIDE a motorcycle helmet (for a day at the track on a supersport - anyone done this) ? Cant have anything mounted to outside of helmet, and any external bike mounted camera must be safety wired - anybody done track days with this?
Yes, people have done this, I've seen some footage on reddit and it doesn't look bad either.
i really dislike how you just assumed the larger storage space's runtime. does that mean that the 128g has a larger battery than the 64? or did you run out of space and only got 2hrs recorded because i just couldnt keep recording?
Well i have 2 and yes i would know… the 128 runs for 2 hrs 37 ish minutes the 64, 1 hrs 45 ish.

I can´t go anywhere without the X3 tho.. i pick this over anything, but i also have the GO 3 and Action 4 which i use a lot, so X3, GO 3 & Action 4 is the perfect combo for me. All 3 for different scenarios

All youtubers specializing in cameras wear wool hats or caps indoors, I'm starting to think it's tribal attire, or perhaps a sectarian or masonic symbol.
Perhaps😅 my hair is unstylable so it convenient with the hat, when the hair falls off, im dropping the hat
It seems like it wouldn't make sense to get the 128GB version, because the battery would die before the memory fills up.....
The 128gb can both record longer(more battery life) and can store more footage than the 64.
@@RobHK The rep at Insta360 told me they both had the same battery. But maybe that rep was a noob. IDK - could not find anything online that said the battery was bigger on the 128mb.
From my understanding the battery is the same, but i have 2x 128gb and 1x 64gb, both 128 records a bit longer for some reason 🤷♂️ not sure why, but reason i got another 128 instead of 64
