    I have always wanted to try having a meal box delivered to my house but I am someone that really enjoy going to the grocery store and shopping for food myself, so I never really looked into all the meal delivery options that are availabe - you know the ones - hello fresh, marley spoon, dinnerly. i am pretty sure there are more.
    Last month, a lot of the shelves at supermarkets and grocery stores were empty, and i thought, why not take this opportunity to give One of these a go? I came across Dinnerly, found a coupon online and put in my order. Dinnerly touts itself as is "the most affordable meal kit in Australia. Open the door to easy, affordable, everyday cooking." and with the box coming in at $37 AUD, enough food for 6 meals, simple dinner ideas completely taken care of for you and delivered right to your door step, it is pretty convenient.
    So here is my Dinnerly Review or i guess, a grocery haul? Come along and cook with me and if you do end up trying these recipes let me know how you go! Oh and let me know if you want me to do a Hello Fresh Review too.

    nice job Janice. one suggestion, when you cut and want to have consistent thickness, you should use your knuckles against the knife blade to use as a thickness guide so you can feel the thickness of all the slices.

I looked at 2 weeks and the ingredients i needed to have myself. Those costs for those things together were for me as much as the price difference between my HF box and this box..and those ingredients i can use for many weeks.

    It’s better to buy ingredients online and search up for recipes yourself to save money

    • @madelinecadieux7636
      @madelinecadieux7636 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the goal is to save money, buying everything yourself is definitely the better option. However, the time saved and the convenience, plus the wide range of recipes (little packets of random herbs/spices you don't need to buy full size for example) makes this a great option for people who are time poor and really want a great variety of healthy options. For this reason, I reckon it's worth it, even if you just use it for a little while. When I was a student, I used to obsess about saving money..to the point it would stress me out because I was always looking for the cheapest option and wondering whether I got the best deal or if I was ripped off (I would ONLY buy stuff on special and then be upset when the price went down further lol). Now that I have a bit more money, I feel like this isn't necessarily the best way to live, I allow for convenience when I think it might make life easier so I can focus on other things.

    • @mochivo1579
      @mochivo1579 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dolly Gee yeah but if the person knows how to cook might as well cook then or buy takeaway food and pack it individually which is also cheaper. It’s only $37 for her cause she got a discount, if she didn’t it will be more expensive. Hence, shops that delivers grocery to ur house is also better. This delivery meal kit is only good for stay at home people, lazy cookers, or just don’t know how to cook at all and needs instructions to learn. This also not even enough to feed a family of 4. You said you were a college student and if you don’t have anyone besides yourself then it’s also better to buy food normally as most food in the box isn’t that appetising.

      @@mochivo1579 I actually think these delivery meal kits are very popular now because a lot of people don't know how to cook (or they hate cooking!) or simply don't have the time to look up recipes and be creative in the kitchen. They could be busy working parents or professionals who don't want to eat takeout, I wouldn't say they're lazy, they just have other priorities. I don't think delivery kits are the best thing ever invented lol... all I meant is that some people value convenience above saving money - they just want the option. I'll be honest, I really dislike cooking.. I have to force myself to make food! I have a couple of recipes that I make regularly but I've used the dinnerly box a few times for more variety and to keep things interesting. That being said, I don't use it all the time because you can learn the recipes from the meal kit and re-make them later, using ingredients from the grocery store.

    so, you still need to take time and cook with these guys. I thought the service was supposed to save you time with meal prep. What is the actual advantage of this over going to a supermarket and getting the stuff yourself? you pay a mark up for the items and you also pay for delivery, I don't get it.
