Unfortunately the three classic "real" Vice episodes are missing: "Death and the lady", "Evan" and "Shadow in the dark". All other episodes have unforgettable world famous moments in TV history but these 3 episodes are perfect from the first to the last minute. For me, the most important sentence of all time comes from Guzman in "Evan", when he said: "What is this country goin´ to when you even can´t trust the police to be honest !" Greetings from Berlin, Germany.

For me, the best top 5 are: #1 Smugglers' Blues, #2 Definitely Miami, #3 Shadow in the Dark, #4 Evan, #5 Prodigal Son. And honorable mentions: Heart of Darkness, Milk Run, Bought and Paid For (because I like El DeBarge music and Lamborghini Countach).
Miracle Man, Leap of Faith and Missing Hours are pretty horrible. Leap of Faith is barely a Vice episode. The Cows of October is pretty fun though. Free Verse shouldn't even be on the worst list.
Miracle Man, Missing Hours, Viking and The Big Thaw were not very good although not horrible (except Trudy looked so hot in that blue dress!!). One episode though that is unwatchable is Jack of All Trades in Season 5.
Miami Vice is one of my favorite tv shows ever! I love the whole team, the city of Miami, the 1980s and crime detective shows. Nearly 40 years after its premiere the shows still stands the test of time and is iconic. I actually like "Free Verse" but all the other episodes you mention as the worst are pretty terrible episodes. I love al those episodes you mention as the top five best. My top five best are Brother's Keeper/Pilot, Calderone Returns Part 1 and 2. Milk Run, the Maze and Sons and Lovers. Some honorable mentions are Heart of Darkness, Glades, the Great McCarthy, the Home Invanders, Evan and the Prodigal Son.

Loved this show, but Vice jumped the shark with "Missing Hours" and "The Cows of October." Among my favorites are "The Maze", "Red Tape", "Knock, Knock...Who's There?", "Smuggler's Blues" and "Little Miss Dangerous". "The Afternoon Plane" was a great "solo" Tubbs episode.
Right at the beginning you have a flaw this episode is Yankee Dollar where Ned Eissenberg plays the character Charlie Glide episode Prodigal Son is a pilot film for the second season where Sonny and Rico went undercover to NEW YORK

Couldn't really argue with the 5 worst list although I would have put in Season 4's The Cows of October. For the best I would add Season 2's Payback, One Way Ticket, Sons and Lovers along with Season 1's Milk Run and Smugglers Blues in the Top 5 best. By the Brothers Keeper (aka Pilot) is episode 1 of Season 1 not episode 2 and Heart of Darkness is the real episode 2 of Season 1 not Episode 3. Essentially most of the dud episodes appeared in Season 4 & 5, as there were very few occasional stinkers in the earlier seasons.
The funny thing is that while Heart of Darkness is the 2nd episode, some fans deem it as the 3rd episode since they tend to count the pilot as 2 episodes (since the syndicated versions of the show often split up the 2 hour episodes such as Brother's Keeper, The Prodigal Son and Freefall)

Made for Each Other (S1 E18 ) was absolutely horrendous Crockett and Tubbs we basically not even in it. Why??. Strangely Tubbs did not feature i the next episode either. Presumably there were either 'heath' issues involved or contractual disagreements at this time.

The stuntman that went over the side (@6:00) of the cargo ship obviously hit his head for real. I think that was not scripted. Any background info on that. I think that the scene after that of Crocket getting out of the water with blood on the collar of his jacket might've been a last-minute rewrite because of that, and maybe the stunt double got a real scalp-scar because of it, so they took advantage of that and wrote it into the script after the fact. (Plus, his head & face looked more like Tubbs than Crocket!) Am I wrong about anything? I can't hardly buy food anymore, much less afford to buy the series on DVD or I would. For the top 5 Definitely Miami would be #1 for me, and I would put Little Miss Dangerous in the top 5. While Out Where the Buses Don't Run is a good episode overall, I found Hank to be by far the most annoying character. I know I'm in the minority, but I have always hated that over the top type character.

‘Vikings’ was awful, definitely the worst by a long way imo. Agree with the top 5, no.1 for me would be ‘Out where the buses don’t run’ or ‘Stone’s War’. Great list.

It was a great show that sadly fell apart SO quickly. Too many cooks in the kitchen / campy pop star-mania, etc.? Season 1 is really the best distilled version, but there are great episodes throughout its run. Michael Mann jumped ship to work on what was my favorite 1980's show, Crime Story (a period mob show pre-dating The Sopranos), and I think Miami Vice just lost its way. I wouldn't argue with any of the WORST list, but I would add "Home Invaders" to the BEST, because it's actually still scary, and this was 1980's PG TV!!! It holds up incredibly well, and is also a solid police procedural for capturing the bad guys in the second act!
I liked the fashion in the early episodes but later in a 1 or 2 episodes Crockett's and Tubb's style went a bit strange. But overall the suits were cool and inspiring even today.
Free verse is not among the worst episodes. One has to weigh in production design, music, casting everything. The 4th season...the episodes started dropping in quality and by the fifth it was unfortunately not as good as it used to be. But the first three seasons were very good. Great actors in them too.

No Evan? That was the one that got all the Emmy nods. And Made for Each Other was ao popular NBC kept doing encore showings. Can't complain about Buses as #1 though.

Miracle Man? That story was a simple tragedy and they told it well despite the limited budget. Same with Free Verse.

My personal worst is "A Bullet for Crockett" and my favorite is "Fruit of the Poison Tree."
A Bullet for Crockett is basically a montage of the whole series to that point with a few scenes.

‘Vikings’ was awful, definitely the worst by a long way imo. Agree with the top 5, no.1 for me would be ‘Out where the buses don’t run’ or ‘Stone’s War’. Great list.

Free Verse to me is not one of the top 5 worse. Neither is Viking Bikers. Missing Hours is very terrible and most agree with that
So many epic episodes but for me Shadow in the Dark is best .
It was a great show that sadly fell apart SO quickly. Too many cooks in the kitchen / campy pop star-mania, etc.? Season 1 is really the best distilled version, but there are great episodes throughout its run. Michael Mann jumped ship to work on what was my favorite 1980's show, Crime Story (a period mob show pre-dating The Sopranos), and I think Miami Vice just lost its way. I wouldn't argue with any of the WORST list, but I would add "Home Invaders" to the BEST, because it's actually still scary, and this was 1980's PG TV!!! It holds up incredibly well, and is also a solid police procedural for capturing the bad guys in the second act!

I liked the fashion in the early episodes but later in a 1 or 2 episodes Crockett's and Tubb's style went a bit strange. But overall the suits were cool and inspiring even today.
Free verse is not among the worst episodes. One has to weigh in production design, music, casting everything. The 4th season...the episodes started dropping in quality and by the fifth it was unfortunately not as good as it used to be.
But the first three seasons were very good. Great actors in them too.
Too Many to name for top shows.. No Exit, Milk Run, Evan, Prodigal SOn, Out where the Buses don't Run, Junk Love, Bushido, Phil the Shill, Yankee Dollar, Little Miss Dangerous, The Fix...
No Evan? That was the one that got all the Emmy nods. And Made for Each Other was ao popular NBC kept doing encore showings. Can't complain about Buses as #1 though.
I forgot all about that ridic Miracle Man character, lol. Series was just about to end at that point anyway.
