Schluter Kerdi 7 Day Flood Test Results-- All Tile Guys Must See!! This video was made in response to a earlier 10 day test that was a complete disaster. Water had seeped all the way through the layers of kerdi, and soaked the plywood substrate below.
In an attempt to isolate the problem that I had with the first test, I made sure to do everything very carefully as possible. This video shows exactly how I built the model, filled it up for the 7 day test, and tore it apart to find the results. This video is longer than normal, but I really wanted to document the complete process for the test and have it continuous in one video.
Keep in mind that I am not a scientist, this is done in a warehouse not a laboratory, and that I am exceeding the ASTM testing by 5 days. I encourage you to draw your own conclusions and do your own testing. Please comment your results below, so that we can help educate everyone.
