Stellar! Paul and Ramier, thanks for showing us this ride. Please do more like this. I've done parts of this route on my Vsett 10+ and ebike. Concerned about local restrictions on e-scooter access - specially the coastal paths like the one you took between Rockaway Beach parking lot behind Fairfield Inn and Taco Bell, and some of the parks between DC and Pacifica. Agree with Paul that e-scoots give us more freedom to explore.

It’s interesting deciding how to navigate. Hwy 1 is technically legal since bicycles can use it, but I think we might get the wrong sort of attention. Then I wasn’t sure if the bike paths were ok, but we were super careful around people and no one seemed to mind. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! -Paul

I litteraly just found this channel because of that video about mistakes that beginners do on e-scooters, i subscribed and also i think u should check out more KuKirin or KugooKirin scooters! I just got a G2 Pro for around 400$ and its great! With my weight, 65,9 kg, i get around 35 km of range and it goes around 45 kmh with my weight! However, if you ride with the 2nd or 1st mode which are slower, u can get to a maximum 55 km of range which is very impressive. I have watched lots of reviews and their expensive scooters absolutely demolish xiaomi and ninebot scooters.

Dear Paul, I loved this video. Please make more videos like this in the future. I know you're a numbers guy, but sometimes a real life use of these PEVs feel great, at least for me, as I prefer practical use of the PEVs, i.o.w. 20mph/32kph range on hilly roads over top speed performance.
I also appreciate both of you riding responsibly on bike lanes and paths. I love that we have options to ride at high speed, matching cars and the flow of traffic, but I hate it when the same speed and rush is carried over to ride onto bike lanes and paths.
Question, in the last 2-3 review videos, I didn't see Ramier's big dog range and speed test portions. Did you guys intentionally get rid of it, or was there push back from the vendors? I prefer the big dog range, hill and speed test compared to yours (Paul). Sorry, I love your riding, but I was never, and nor will I be ever, lucky enough to be your weight class 😂😅. As such, the big dog test is more realistic for me. I am quite sure, I'm not the only one who appreciates the big dog test more.
    Thank you.

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Thanks so much. It’s tricky getting two range tests done and still getting a piece of content out every Saturday, so I’m not sure how many dual-data videos we’ll make. A fun thing to do would be to have Ramier make a piece of content where he tests 5 scooters I’ve tested and compares the results.
Thanks for letting us know what sort of content you like best. It’s really helpful! -Paul

After trying several more authentic mexican food places in the US (as a tourist), I find myself never even considering Taco Bell for any meals. However, this TB seems like it may be worth a visit. My last visit to TB, I had 1 tiny piece of steak in the entire steak quesadilla. I complained, they gave me money back, and haven't been back to a TB, in the last 5 years.

No scooter is getting me to that Taco Bell!
I like the slow, longer route on scooter rides or electric bike rides.
It's fun blasting up into that 40, 50 mph range, but they're enjoyable to ride long distances 35 and under.
More ride time and less gear needed to stay safe.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Dualtron and squarewave controllers, thats the issue, no matter how much Wh your battery has, squarewave controllers are inefficient.
I also rebuilt an old scooter from old 1000W motor and cheap squarewave 23A controller to a new 1200W 48V motor and a 50A VESC based hybride controller in sinewave mode.
The range i could achieve with the 480Wh battery (48V, 10Ah) was like 20-30 km, no matter how slow i was going it was just "bad". With sinewave controller and a new motor this scooter goes easily 30-45 km, nearly 50 km when going slow, using e-brake and being just efficient with your battery.
Sinewave controllers are a must have nowadays in my opinion, especially with those expensive scooters.

There are these full face helmets with built-in secure intercom. You guys could request a few for these types of videos. If they are legitimate they ought to accommodate a few out of their marketing budget for ESG and RG. I'd love to know how well they perform in real situations such as riding at speed in the crowd, along with traffic, all the noise and interference etc. They're expensive for me, so I don't want to end up with barely working toys. Since you guys ride the PEVs hard, your testing of those helmets would give realistic review of such gadgets.

I think the highest we got up to that day was 40mph. We weren't really wearing enough gear to be going 40. -Paul

How can those be the "fastest scooters" if even a friend has a 2000$ chinese (pretty bad to be honest....) scooter with 2x5000W nominal power and upgraded 72V 45Ah battery or so, going easily, with GPS measured 110 km/h, at which point i ended this speed test, too sketchy on this "garbage" of a scooter. But is has very comfortable 13" tubeless tires, full suspension and is pretty awesome (up to about 70 km/h where you begin to feel its wrong). Especially offroad this scooter shines with the big tires.
Also, the range is ridicilous... in single motor and eco mode it goes about 40-45 km/h and runs EASILY 150 km+ with a single charge and still some juice left for another 10-25 km or so... and it doesnt matter how hard you push it (the limits are "physical"... front tire grip etc)... voltage sag barely exists, probably due to the crazy big battery.
Yet, i would prefer my Vsett all day long over it, doesnt matter if i have less than 1/4 of the power/torque, much less top speed or no seat. Its looking better, it feels more stable (yet lighter, A LOT!), it is more stable at high speed, its just much more convenient

Fastest we have tested! All our scooters on our videos and database are what we test.

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide you guys should really try one day tuning a hyper scooter to >110 km/h, im even coming close to 90 km/h on my 1,5kWh Vsett10+ by „just“ using a 2x100A VESC based controller.
